What a wonderful, beautiful, historic, and so close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park place to stay! This was my 25th National Park visit and I'm so glad I picked the Inn to stay. Vicki and her staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a delicious breakfast each morning with coffee and wonderful conversation with other guests. The library was so interesting with the painted shades, historical information, photos and books. We stayed in the Adeline Room which is upstairs. Bed was comfy and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Close to everything we wanted to see on the National Park adventure. Quick walk to the Brandywine Falls as well. Great time, loved staying here and definitely would be back! read more

We had to travel to northeastern Ohio for a funeral - naturally a stressful time. We stayed at the Inn at Brandywine Falls, and we were so glad we did! We felt truly spoiled and catered to, and it was such a comfort to stay in such a wonderful place during an otherwise sad and difficult time. All the staff were so accommodating. It was wonderful also that the Inn is located at the edge of the Cuyahoga Valley Natural Recreation Area - it was wonderful to take a short hike or just enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The room was absolutely charming and met all of our needs for the stay. It was so nice to wake up and look out on the wildlife. And it's not just for 'good' weather. During our stay, it rained, it snowed, the sun shone, storms passed over. It was a delightful stay throughout and we were so glad we were there! During all the weather, it was an absolutely beautiful place to be. We were always plenty comfortable - nice and cool on the day it reached the mid-70s, and plenty warm on the day it dropped into the 30s! If you are not sure you want to stay at this B&B - do it. Before booking, we priced standard 'hotels' which also included breakfast. The price differential was minimal, but the difference in our experience was beyond compare. This is now our 'go to' spot to stay whenever we are in Northeastern Ohio. read more

We had such a magnificent experience staying at the Inn! My husband and I are native Clevelanders who moved to California in 2020. We came back to have our wedding on October 8, 2023 which was at Happy Days Lodge in the CVNP. As we are avid nature lovers, the Inn seemed like the PERFECT place to spend our wedding night (and the night after). We were able to book the Granary - a private suite - and our fateful canine companion Sampson was also able to stay with us (which was very important to me). When we arrived, we met Vicki who is one of two women who took over operations at the Inn that year. She welcomed us with another older couple who were celebrating an anniversary. The Inn has such a rich history, and hearing about it and the development of the surrounding area made it even more special to us! Vicki was so wonderful and I hope to keep in touch with her for years to come - and visit the Inn again next time we make it to the Midwest! The next morning my husband and I enjoyed in-room dining and we took a hike with Sampson in the gorge that is right next to the property. It concluded at the falls, which we had listened to the evening before, and it was such a beautiful sight! I loved being able to hop on a trail right from the property without having to drive anywhere. I loved meeting a few of the other guests who were staying in rooms in the main part of the Inn, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. Most notable was Mittens, the orange tabby cat with an excellent disposition - he even let Sampson get nose to nose for a greeting! I highly recommend the Inn for anyone who is looking for a refreshing stay in the national park. You have the option to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, with or without company! Such a cozy, cute place to stay! The rooms are adorable, they are very clean, yet historic with modern touches. I love hearing the falls in the distance and being right next to the trail. This place is probably cutest and most quaint inn/hotel/b&b I've ever stayed at! My friend and I were passing through the area on a road trip to St. Louis and decided to spend one night here and it was perfect!! We stayed on the second floor in a spacious 2 bedroom 'suite.' There were two twin beds in one room and a huge king bed with fluffy white linens in the other room. The room was beautiful- just be cautious of the low ceilings if you're tall! The bathroom was beautiful and very nicely updated. Downstairs, the inn is stunning. It is beautifully decorated with period pieces, gorgeous woodwork throughout, plus they keep amazing plants everywhere! Maggie greeted us and she might be, no joke, one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. She was so gracious and accommodating, offering up suggestions and information about a short hike we should take in the morning. We ordered breakfast for the AM and it was the cutest breakfast I ever did see- nothing fancy but delicious. We had warm rolls with butter and jelly, hard boiled eggs, and a gorgeous parfait. After breakfast we took a short walk to the trail and did the little hike (about a mile) down and up Brandywine falls. It is a great location in that regard- right on the edge of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. And, at checkout, Maggie gave us chocolate chip cookies to go which hit the spot later on in our trip. This place is truly a gem. It is on Cuyahoga National Park land so the lease was originally signed for 50 years and there are now 17 left. Katie Hoy is the innkeeper who lives in the main house which is where I stayed. The whole place is absolutely filled with rich history- from photos and old books to antique furniture and a relic bathtub/shower to boot. The main house is over 100 years old, Katie is now 90 years old (husband George died a couple years ago), and she says she plans to outlive the lease! She has a few cookbooks for sale at the place and the several of those recipes were used for the delicious 9am breakfast served in a socially-distanced manner by wonderfully knowledgeable and pleasant young ladies wearing masks and gloves. The blueberry french toast came after apricot oatmeal with sides of "bird food" homemade granola, coffee with milk, and a side of melon and raspberries with a sprig of mint. Lemon water and orange juice were also served. I am surprised and humbled by their willingness to make me an omelet after I realized that I couldn't really eat anything from the served breakfast due to my diabetes (all of the items were high in carbohydrates and mostly sugar unfortunately- I did try bites and they were all delicious but would've made me feel less than ideal compared to protein). The omelet they made was one of the best I've ever had- seriously. It had spinach, bacon, and chives with seasoned salt atop. It was marvelous in every way. Maggie was incredibly knowledgeable in answering questions about the history of the inn and so very kind during the stay. There is plenty of parking. Right next to the house is a 1.3ish mile loop trail. You can go left directly to the 67-foot Brandywine falls or go right and take the trail which is well-carved and shaded and the finale then are the falls. read more

We selected this Inn so that we would be within the national park. We stayed in the Loft Suite. Being from Oregon we are used to rustic accommodations as we have stayed in a number of US Forest Service cabins, some without water or indoor plumbing; a few we had to snowshoe in to. This is not as rustic as those but be forewarned that the lighting level is low. It is helpful to have the use of a flashlight at times. Also, if one has a balance issue know the stairs can be a little tricky. All that said, we rate this space highly as it is quiet, secluded, comfortable, and in a great location. read more

We had a lovely stay with our two young kids. Maggie was wonderfully helpful and let the kids feed the sheep if she saw them playing outside. The loft was spacious and perfect for our needs. The light from the floor to ceiling windows was beautiful. Every morning, the staff would bring breakfast in two picnic baskets and set it up on our dining table. One morning the hard boiled eggs were raw -- but I just called the front desk, and they apologized and sent a new batch of eggs right away. There's also a fridge and microwave which was very convenient. Upon check in, they leave treats in the room for you (fruit, cookies, Buckeyes) and they also left two gallons of drinking water and microwave popcorn and hot chocolate. The loft room had a coffeemaker but my only gripe is that they provide better coffee than Folgers and maxwell house which was super watery. But everything else was perfect and the kids already are asking to return! read more

We stayed here while visiting Cuyahoga National Park. It is a beautiful, historic inn with a spacious grassy lawn right adjacent to the Brandywine Falls. We were a party of four, two adults and two children, ages 12 and 14. The innkeeper, Katie, was quite welcoming. Her husband George passed away several months ago, so she is now going solo. If you are looking for a traditional B and B or inn experience where guests dine together at a formal (delicious!) breakfast, you will find it here. We had a lovely weekend get away at the Inn! We stayed in the Loft suite, which is in a separate building behind the main house, perfect for those that want privacy. They even brought breakfast to our suite! The owner, Katie, was wonderful and extremely accommodating, you could tell she loves what she does. The hand drawn map of the Falls trails, copies of cookbooks written by Katie and her husband, and all of the other personal touches added to the charm if the place. Great location. Really loved the property. Awesome cookies. But unfortunately this inn should really be run in a different manner. I've never paid this much ($180/night) to stay in a place with such a low bar for accommodating its guests. And what's interesting is the veil in which you submit to their whims as they tell you how well they are taking care of you. There are so many examples of how illy treated we felt. We arrived during their dinner time. They could just give people keys to their rooms and tell them to really careful with the luggage. Instead we are asked to wait for two hours in their lobby. Seems really crazy. The whole check in after "4:01" is just weird too. I asked for tea. George said, "Ok, if you really, really, really need it." I said "I do really need it" then he just sat there writing something down. then katy came up and grabbed the box of tea from the cupboard. whattf? George seems really infatuated with himself and maybe the inn is his way making people endure his wit, limericks and stories of how well they treat their guests. Katy seems chill. Also, the breakfast is not that great. Not sure why people coming back and talking about the food so much. read more

You will want to think twice before staying here... my husband and I drove up to the inn after having a wonderful day in Amish country with our 22 year old daughter to the innkeeper LECTURING US on that we should of be here at 4:00 pm. Over and over again. Then that our daughter was with us . Our daughter lives right down the street. He then started lecturing , or better yet talking down to us about how to take care of the inn. If it wasn't dark I would LEAVE. Both my husband and I own business and would NEVER TALK TO OUR CUSTOMERS the way he talked to us. If you are visiting Cuyahoga Falls National Park, try to stay at The Inn at Brandywine Falls. It's a beautifully restored old house, filled with antiques and memorabilia. George and Katie have a wealth of information about the park and the neighborhood. Altogether it's a period piece that fits right into the history that is a huge part of this National Park. And did I mention the breakfast? Wow! Super food. We had an egg, cheese and bacon quiche that will quickly make you forget all similar dishes. It was light and fluffy, with a flaky crust and totally delicious. George might be a bit rigid in how he runs his Inn. Enjoy it. I started out reacting badly to the check in rules, but concluded that a little bit of rigidity in when I could check in was a small price to pay for a great place to sleep and learn history. read more

We stayed again here on 10-10-15 for our 5 year wedding anniversary. We again enjoyed every minute. The bed was super comfortable, food delicious and right on time. George brought it into our room and set our table. He is very funny and made us feel very welcomed. Katie shared a photo of herself zip lining which was next on our journey. Adorable old inn with innkeepers who aim to be the "oldest innkeepers in American". And may have succeeded (but aren't sure). The inn has cute rooms that are creaky but charming. Every morning there was fresh fruit and cookies provided which was a great touch. Only downside is water that smells and tastes bad so I went to local grocer and got bottled water. Katie and George are gracious and entertaining hosts that serve delicious breakfast and provide wonderful stories and poems about the town and park's history. read more

Stayed at The Granary and instantly loved the ambiance of the place. Breakfast was simple (oatmeal both days) but good. The heater wasn't working & space heaters were used instead. I don't wanna make assumptions but I'm wondering if George is going thru some form of dementia because he became very angry and confrontational and almost violent towards us when he barged in at check out time and discovered a towel had fallen on the space heater in the bathroom. (it was placed under the towel rack!) He screamed and cursed at us and I thought he might physically attack me. I would never go back there! I would never recommend it to anyone. Stay away! George has a very dark side. So unfortunate because it is a beautiful place. read more

I gave this place one star and only based on its location I also would like to state I have stayed at B&B's from Maine to New Mexico and never at a place as awful as this Lets start with the room. I stayed in the Granary which is one of two units in their barn The bed is in the loft and the bathroom downstairs...if you need to go in the middle of the night expect a trip down a 2 turn staircase set against a brick wall. The bathroom itself has a Jacuzzi tub with no handles to get in or out of So be prepared to climb. The floors were uneven and I was constantly thinking that I would get a splinter or stump my toe. The lighting was poor at best the towels had the faint smell of mold. And to top it off there were no dressers in the room, be prepared to live out of a suitcase. The 2 chairs in the room not sturdy at all Breakfast was @ 9am everyday & if you were late they called you. This is NOT a summer camp So why set times for breakfast I don't know. At breakfast you were all forced to sit around a huge round table shoulder to shoulder with strangers Breakfast was eggs every day.The sideboard had some fruits/bread, but with a full house its a tight fit. And it is literally steps away from a stunning waterfall and lush forest trails. The main house was originally built as the home of the owner of a mill that drew power from the falls over a century ago. With the vision of artists, they have created a practical getaway for road-trippers on US Rte 80. For Chicagoans like us, it's an ideal gateway when we're heading to or from the east coast, as it's only a six-hour drive from home. It has been a terrifically relaxing weekend here at the inn. We arrived yesterday evening and immediately made to feel at home. The James Wallace Parlor is our accommodation and it is Perfect. Stepping back in time into this beautiful Inn has been so relaxing. Breakfast here is legendary and this one certainly did not disappoint. Katie and George are the perfect hosts. The meal was fantastic and conversation lively. George really knows how to keep the conversation going in such an enjoyable way that perfect strangers become friends in less time than it takes to enjoy a crystal goblet of fresh squeezed orange juice or a second cup of delicious coffee. Katie is a beautiful and gracious hostess! We haven't even finished our current stay and we are already planning our next one! We hiked the falls trails this morning. Only a VERY short walk from the Inn to the Falls. Upon our hike back to the Inn we stopped at the barn to visit with the chickens, goats and world's friendliest cat. Plan to spend an entire weekend here if you can. It's fabulous! read more

For $200 dollars a night we were treated terribly. George, the owner, had a smug and stuck up attitude. He also had the audacity to rudely tell my husband to take his arms off the table during breakfast when so many other people also has their arms on the table but nothing was said to anyone else. Katie, George's wife was nice, but I will never recommend this place to anyone because of George. He's a grouchy old man who should NOT be running a business. At a bed and breakfast you are supposed to feel welcome and at home. Not in this case, we couldn't leave fast enough. Please, think twice before you spend you hard earned money here. Plus, breakfast was very cheap and not enough with very limited choices. We ended up having to go to Bob Evan's for breakfast after we left (which was by the way was so much better)! read more

I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews of this place. This was our first B & B experience, and we felt Katie and George made us feel quite comfortable and right at home. We arrived late and were greeted pleasantly and offered glasses of wine. Were were uncomfortable at first, because we had never been in a setting like this, having wine in someones home and sitting around making conversation with other guests we've never met. However, the pleasant conversation and rich history in George's and Katie's stories, coupled with humor and hospitality, made us feel at ease and welcome. We stayed in the Loft. One of two rooms in the converted barn out back. We liked having a separate entrance, and felt that we had more privacy than if we stayed in one of the house rooms. We adored all the rustic decor, dark wooden beams, loft style bedroom, wood burning fireplace and wide plank floors. Simply put, this room is overflowing with character. I understand it's not for everyone, and some may not enjoy this style of accommodations, however if you are considering it, you must remember that this is a converted barn, and the innkeepers tried to preserve as much as possible from its original style of construction to maintain it's look and character. So things like uneven floors, gaps in the floor boards upstairs, etc should be expected. There is some sediment presumably from the hot water heater that we noticed when we filled the jacuzzi tub, causing a slight dark hue in the water when we began filling, and "dirty bubbles" when running the jets. This was admittedly off putting. Also the walls between the Loft and the Granary are paper-thin, and noise transfer is abundant. However we heard from guests in the main house that their rooms were very quiet. I recommend thumbing through the pages of the books of guest stories and recipes, it helped leisurely pass the time and we found them to be very entertaining. Excellent location so close to the falls and trails. We walked down to the falls for some nice views and photos, and took a stroll down the trails. They provide you with a nice restaurant list of their own recommendations and offer directions and suggestions. We opted to have breakfast in the main house at 9am. There is an option to have a private breakfast in the Loft or Granary at 9:45 if you book a weekend in one of these rooms. As other reviewers have mentioned, all the guests sit around a table with the owners. We thought the breakfasts were excellent. Both mornings there was fresh homemade bread with fruit preserves, butter and raspberry butter on the table's lazy-susan. Oatmeal with homemade granola and brown sugar for toppings, Greek yogurt and fresh berry/fruit salad on the sideboard. Omelettes with coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice each day. Delightful conversation filled the room. Katie and George are a very inspiring couple, with great knowledge of the area and wonderful stories to share. A very pleasant, quaint place to stay. It's kind of nice to stay somewhere that envelopes the simple life. A nice, romantic and relaxing little getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We will definitely return, and we thank Katie and George for making us feel so comfortable on our first B & B experience. read more

This delicate, antique-filled, renovated farm house sits adjacent to the Brandywine Falls. Katie is gentle and very gracious. Our beds were very comfortable and our towels and linens were of high quality and were soft and clean. They must have dual a/c units in this B&B because our room was nice and cool on a 90+ degree day! Katie made us feel very welcomed and it was nice to have lively conversations with her and some of the other guests over a cup of decaf tea in the evening. Breakfast was griddle cakes, homemade granola, fresh fruit salad, ham and pear oatmeal. I am a big coffee fan and theirs was good - and plentiful. A-OK place to stay. read more

This Inn is a hidden gem...well worth the treasure hunt. Katie is a gracious hostess, incredibly thoughtful of her guests' needs and a knowledgeable ombudsman of local history, and the community. It could of been better for that price! We had to ask them to turn on the a/c after we got there; around 9pm!, It had a musty odor in our room; on the second floor! Toilet bowl, valve ran all night & they were ( very limited on towels for 3 people). I, dare to take a shower; "yuck"! Then there was George; the owner; he was annoying! He rang our phone 2x the next morning to come down for breakfast! I felt like I was at camp! Breakfast, was served only once at 8:00 am; so, you had to be on time! I didn't like the security of your room; (your door was locked from the inside, so, the lock cylinder was on the outside of the door, but no key was given to you! George had the had the key & you knew it! 'it was so obvious". I didn't feel private at all! The breakfast choices were limited and don't get George upset if you happened to have your fore arms on the table, not your elbows; you couldn't help it; do to the fact that the person right next to you was about an inch away! Also, I felt he; personally brought attention too you; by asking you 'loud' to get your arms off the table. It was embarrassing; there were at least 15 people eating breakfast at once at that table! There was no room at all; what if you your still tired from your journey and you don't want any attention drawn too you! He forces people to chit chat & he's nosy too! It wasn't what I expected after all & for that price! It turned me off towards B & B's now! Never again! It was the weirdest experience! I was polite, however, because, his wife was very nice, she was the saving grace for our stay! read more
