My friend and I recently rode our bicycles from Columbus to Cleveland on the Ohio to Erie Trail. Berrodin BnB was our third and last overnight stay. It was easy to find via Google maps, bicycle route option, just a couple miles off the OTET on low traffic city streets. We had a private code to enter the house, but Louie, our host soon made his appearance. He and my friend took our bikes to lock them in a garage, so very secure for the night. After a 70 mile, very hot day, we each had a shower and cleaned up before getting food. Louis gave us great recommendation for dinner, just about 4 blocks away. Aladdin's (mid eastern food) was excellent, and we had a beer at Don's across the street. When we returned to the house, we met a couple from PA on the comfortable porch, and had a pleasant conversation before retiring. The room was cozy and comfortable. Louie provided a portable mattress for the floor, so Mike and I didn't have to share the double bed. If you have need for this arrangement, be sure to book Room 2 as it's the only one that has floor room for this. We slept well, and on rising we had good "continental" breakfast: good coffee, boiled egg, muffins, fruit. There were several other items available too. We hit the road for our last 40 miles to Cleveland, we'll rested and fed. Louie is a good host, and is most welcoming to bicycle travelers, as the OTET has brought lots of riders to his door. Definitely recommend this BnB! So much more fun than a chain hotel. The rooms and bathroom are well appointed, spotless, and homey.

Vicki and her staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a delicious breakfast each morning with coffee and wonderful conversation with other guests. We felt truly spoiled and catered to, and it was such a comfort to stay in such a wonderful place during an otherwise sad and difficult time. All the staff were so accommodating. It was wonderful also that the Inn is located at the edge of the Cuyahoga Valley Natural Recreation Area - it was wonderful to take a short hike or just enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The room was absolutely charming and met all of our needs for the stay. It was so nice to wake up and look out on the wildlife. And it's not just for 'good' weather. During our stay, it rained, it snowed, the sun shone, storms passed over. It was a delightful stay throughout and we were so glad we were there! During all the weather, it was an absolutely beautiful place to be. We were always plenty comfortable - nice and cool on the day it reached the mid-70s, and plenty warm on the day it dropped into the 30s! If you are not sure you want to stay at this B&B - do it. Before booking, we priced standard 'hotels' which also included breakfast. The price differential was minimal, but the difference in our experience was beyond compare. This is now our 'go to' spot to stay whenever we are in Northeastern Ohio.

We have a 7 lb dog which travels with us at all times. We asked Jim whether he allowed pets several months ago - he said he normally does not accept pets, however, he gave us permission for our 7 lb dog. On the 2nd night we were there while having dinner with family, he and his wife showed up, knocked on our door to tell us there were no dogs allowed. He had conveniently forgot that he gave us that exception. Clearly his wife had not been told as she would not not even look at me as she walked by. He asked us to kennel the dog! After reviewing our previous conversation in depth and reminding him that he made the exception, my first instinct was to leave that night and pay him for the two days - but I didn't. I offered to pay a pet deposit in good faith - he declined. We asked him numerous times that evening and the next morning for an invoice that he never produced nor did he ever commit to a rate. At his request we left the heat at 64 degrees the entire weekend in an attempt to keep his cost down. It seemed the price would 'hinge' upon utilities. We finally had to corner him for a price. He offered 400.00 for 6 nights-a good deal we thought. Funny enough, upon exploring the home we did see what appeared to be raccoon feces on the steps to the 3rd floor. My 7 lb dog would have a heck of a time 'pooping' on the side of a step. We forgot to say something but sure should have because when we arrived home he left a message on our home phone and had the balls to blame our dog for crapping on his 3rd floor, when she was never up on the 3rd floor. In the end we wrote a check for $425 for 6 nights, an extra 25.00 to cover his crappy coffee pot that broke the first time we used it just out of courtesy because we also replaced that coffee pot as well. On our final day he rushed us out because he said he had another guest coming. To help, we vacuumed floors, wiped down bathrooms, and cleaned the kitchen (which had old food in it when we arrived). He actually asked us before 10 am for the linens so he could started washing them. Not a problem frankly, but to be accused of not taking care of his property is completely ridiculous. Don't rent from this guy as he's really unprofessional.
