The manor itself is fairly beautiful. Though we asked for our room to be made up, we only received a bag of towels. The first night we had a great evening out at the fire pit. $30 I believe, so we paid to do it again last night. Apparently the person forgot to log it in their paperwork so they rented it to somebody else. Not a happening camper! Might try again tonight, we'll see. Their restaurant is horribly understaffed but could be great. Though they have a bar, we've yet to see a bartender.

The home was built for the Gillis, well-known and wealthy Cleveland family, in 1863. Then, 25 years ago, the home was converted into a bed and breakfast, and 5 years after that, the first floor was converted into a tea room. Every inch is covered in sweet, kitch decor, and tea is for sale at reasonable prices. I can't say enough good things about this tea room. They were so accommodating for our large group and Katie, one of our servers, provided us a run down of the history of the building and business as well as everything that was included in our $25 High Tea experience. Two different types of tea were offered and the meal consisted of a soup or salad, a slice of quiche and fruit, a selection of three tea sandwiches, a scone, banana bread, and an assortment of desserts to finish it all off. It was a lot of food, all delicious and homemade, that was spread out over 2 hours of fun conversation. My favorites of all the food were the scones and Panna cotta. If you don't live in the area, try the bed and breakfast instead of your typical hotel for your next stay in cleveland! And if you are a tea lover, come here for a lovely and fun High Tea experience!

Smoking is allowed in some rooms. The management, is accommodating and friendly. They have simple rules of tenancy and are very helpful. No drama, no intrusions, just peace of mind knowing you are in a safe place. I highly recommend Don El, to anyone looking for a actual budget friendly, place to lay your head down short or long term.
