I stayed with my newly wed husband for 1 night. It was very very very short notice but the staff was eager to help and even lent us dinner jackets for the best meal I've had in Ohio. He just flew in from California and had no proper dress wear available on short notice when I didn't even know I wanted to stay here when I woke up that morning. It was a very pricey stay but worth every penny. If I had to truly nitpick, it took several calls to get through to confirm booking as no one answered when I called back after my initial information grab. Secondly, the staff drives you to dinner and picks you up, the wait for the drive back took a bit. It seemed the driver ( freshman college student) was packing chairs for an event when he got the call to get us, so I understand. The turn down service was beautiful. Candles through the room with roses and a bottle of champagne and chocolates. I nearly cried due to the beauty and lovely time I had. Save your money! My husband and I stayed at the Inn this past weekend for our anniversary and were so excited considering all the hype surrounding the hotel. I have a background in hospitality and fine dining, which is why I was extremely surprised to learn that the night auditor would be the friendliest staff member that we encountered. The carpet in our suite had multiple signs of having not been vacuumed not to mention multiple large, untreated stains. I understand these things happen but expected much more from a $400/night, 5 star hotel. We received everything that we asked for but were never made aware of multiple amenities that the hotel offered including a shuttle to the restaurant although we confirmed our reservation with the desk twice. The best dish at the restaurant was the crab cake appetizer with the remainder of our 4 course meal being extremely mediocre, offering unimaginative dishes with flavorless sides. read more

Walden never disappoints. My husband and I have chosen it as a romantic winter getaway for 8 years. The stroll from Inn to Spa is lined with floor to ceiling windows that capture the sun off of a spectacular blanket of undisturbed snow. It instantly slows my step. Walden always quietly gives time and space to winter's splendor. The decor is a timeless modern, arty, with much attention to detail. The creative in me responds to the many comfy writing nooks throughout. Large fireplaces make the invitation to peruse their collection of art books compelling. If I could write a novel, it would flow from my pen from one of three choice window-seats in our favorite Loft Suite. Their Spa rooms are unusual and have to be experienced -- thick with luxury and privacy. If I can't relax in there, I can't relax anywhere! read more

Absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived at Walden, every worry escaped us. From the simple tranquility of the natural beauty to the warm and comfort of a crackling fire and champagne, upon arrivalWalden is ahead of the curve every step of the way. We opted for a couples suite, and a night in Equestrian room. The spa experience alone is truly worth it, but you wont want to leave. The steam shower prior to our massage was the perfect way to prepare. We relaxed in the Jacuzzi after and retreated to our room after to a fire place burning, and complimentary appetizers in our room. We were transported to & from the Club for a wonderful dinner and an amazing surprise upon our return. They are always helpful - and you feel it's genuinely their pleasure to be that way . There's a midwesterncharm in both the attitude of the staff , and the facility itself . A little farmy but also a little chic ; a little fussy and homey but a little sleek ... a little old and a little new . It's just all comfy . I had an amazing experience with my spa visit from the moment i arrived to the very end. The service was first class which is to be expected at the Walden. My husband and i have visited several times before in the spa as well as lodging and it exceeds our expectations all the time. I came for the spa day to unwind and have a mommy day to reboot and i couldnt think of a better place in ohio i would have rather gone to. The staff doesnt miss a beat with making sure your visit is completely comfortable and you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The Walden Inn is one of the most-spectacular inns in which we've ever stayed. The rooms are beautiful, well-appointed and private. The room service is the best. The breakfast, where you can order seriously ANYthing you want, is a true treat. The reason we haven't returned is the pet policy. Honestly, we get it. Not everyone is going to treat this privilege with respect. But we have our dog (in the past dogs), and we search for pet-friendly locations. But this shouldn't stop anyone without pets. Spa Walden visits are a relaxing, special way to treat yourself. I have been visiting for over 10 years now and have never has a disappointing experience. I enjoy manicures and pedicures whenever I can. The people are very friendly and welcoming. The environment is calm and peaceful. I have been a patron of several different professional people, but currently I see Carly for my services. She is a delight to be around and I am always completely satisfied with the service. When I entered the Spa, I was greated by Tiffany. She took the time to walk me to the Lecture room because I went to the wrong place. She was very helpful and upbeat. The Lecture with Julie Gable was wonderful. The interaction with her was exceptional. This was the first time that I was at the Walden Inn and Spa. I signed up for several more lectures and a couple of classes. The Walden Inn is like an Inn in the country as you are surrounding by horse pastures and picturesque surroundings. Highly recommend. It is the #1 SPA in Ohio and it is in the top 20 list for the best SPAs in the US. Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. My husband and I have gone to the SPA every Valentines day for the past 10 years and the couples massages are delightful. The private suite is really a treat. I also go on Monther's day with a group of ladies and the SPA lunch and pampering is wonderful. It's a great get away! This place is really special. Beautiful and relaxing. They provide all the little extras that I'm always looking for but rarely find, even in mainstream 5 star hotels. I went for a girls trip. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect. A cozy fire place and seating area set the atmosphere. The pre-filled ice bucket, room service champagne, and complementary chocolate covered strawberries took it to the next level. Although we were only there for less than 24 hours, there were little extras everywhere we turned. I can't wait to go back! read more

My experience at Spa Walden and the Inn was superb! Once I entered the Inn, greeted by friendly staff and a warm fireplace- checked in and handed a glass of champagne, I knew this was going to be a special experience! From the moment we walked thru the entrance until we left the property we were treated like royalty. This is what a spa getaway should be like. The only tiny drawback was our room was rather tired. Our room was on the second floor. A coat of fresh paint and some updated furniture would do wonders to bring this to the next level. Absolutely loved all the amenities. We absolutely love Walden! It is such a relaxing and inviting atmosphere to unwind and spend time. We stay at the Inn once or twice a year and also go a few times for the spa, which is truly world class. We have been going to Walden for 15 years or so and it seems to get better each time. Should be 6 stars if that were available. My Wife and I spent a weekend there. Enjoyed everything. Suite was outstanding with all amenities and very quiet. The staff is incredible. They are all very friendly and efficient. The 2 restaurants were excellent and the Spa was the best my wife has every used. I love Walden. I stay here at least once a year to relax and rejuvenate. Beautiful rooms, delicious restaurants, impeccable service. Very serene. Pastoral and tranquil. Understated luxury. High end without feeling pompous. The spa/salon is also wonderful with large rooms and great service and products. Walden Inn is simply amazing. We stayed there on our wedding night and they went above and beyond to make everything special for us. The nightly turndown service was my personal favorite. A friend gave us a couples massage package and since we went during the week, lunch was included as well. The room was nicely set up with a whirlpool bath tub for two, a steam room, bathroom, and tea and chocolates, and the 1 hour massage was fabulous. I had trouble choosing from all the options available but there's something for everyone. Definitely a great experience for a couple wanting relaxation and time together. read more
