Dirty Mocha Latte
Ace B.

Willow and Olivia a sweet journey The most whimsical boutique bakery! This gem is nestled in the Tory corner section of West Orange New Jersey. As you open the door you are greeted with the scent of baking spices and a feeling of comfort. The decor is a lively fairy theme. The offerings were definitely dreamy. There were huge fluffy cinnamon buns with just enough sparkly glazed to catch your eye. There was ever so moist and delicious crumb cake. I had to ask what was the secret ingredient, the reply was french butter. Yup that will do it every time. There were delicate and dainty red velvet cupcakes, and other stuffed cupcake flavors; dolce de leche, Nutella, Oreo cookie, double chocolate you name it they make it. Next up where the perfectly crumbled blueberry lemon bars and show stopping Snickers Cake oh and I can't forget the delicious signature brownies. Just when this fantastical sugar ride was over... Then came the cookies!!! Gluten free chocolate chip with the perfect chip to cookie ratio, also a stuffed Nutella fluff cookie As I quietly sat there enjoying the most luscious dirty mocha latte I got the sense that the omnipresent celestial fairies Willow and Olivia we're wishing me the best day ever and wanted me to come back soon.

Cookie and cream cupcake and dulce de leche a cupcake

Very small shop. I had expected more options (I guess I was thinking it would be like the other bakery's around). I got the cookie and cream cupcake and the dulce de leche cup cake. I have to admit I felt they were a little pricy for a small cupcake (again, not like the other bakery's around town that I'm use to). HOWEVER, they were REALLY REALLY good, which was a very good surprise. Very moisture and delicious. I don't see myself coming often, because again a little pricy for a small cupcake. But I will be returning to try other items, perhaps my son's birthday cake.

My wife found this bakery earlier this year and I am glad she did. Not only is the food amazing, but the prices are fair and the owner is very friendly and is hands-on with her business and provides excellent customer service. I'm attaching a photo of a cake we brought my dad for Father's Day this year and you can see from the picture the quality. But it didn't just look great. Even my picky parents were amazed at how great the cake tasted. And not just the cake itself, but the house made donuts were also phenomenal. I honestly don't support local businesses enough, but this place is changing my perception of what they can offer.

During the "soft opening," Jarrett held a bagel pop up shop that was incredible!!

Willow and Olivia is a new bakery on Main Street in West Orange. They have small batch cupcakes, cookies, and macaroons. Coffee and lattes are also available. During their soft opening, Jarrett held a pop up bagel shop that offered speciality spreads, including multiple varieties of homemade cream cheeses and an avocado vegetable mash. There was a continuous line down the block for bagels until they (unfortunately) sold out, so I'd call it a success!

Nice new bake shop downtown on Main. Nice addition to the newly redeveloped area. Cake, desserts and muffins. Limited selection.

Willow & Olivia cake for my parents 60th anniversary.

This bakery is outstanding. Great place to pop in for a delicious coffee and a sweet treat. Some of my favorites are the blueberry crumb cake and the banana pudding! The photo is from a cake Giana created for my parent's 60th anniversary. Everyone at the party raved about it! Truly one of the best cakes I've ever had, which says a lot because I am generally not a cake person. Highly recommend this wonderful little shop. Worth the trip!

What an amazing little gem in West Orange. Really beautiful atmosphere and the customer service is exceptional. Their motto is "a little magic in every bite". How true it is! Delicious desserts! It is really hard to choose once you get there and see the options. But I showed some restraint and did not buy one of everything. I did try the coffee cake which was hands down the BEST I have ever had. I was almost upset by this, thinking about how I will not be able to resist it in the future. My friend had the chocolate croissant and she loved it. Couldn't help but also buy some cupcakes for the family and they were in heaven. They also have great coffee lover options. I had a coconut milk latte. Really great that they have non-dairy options and alternative sugar options like stevia. Definitely, highly, absolutely recommend this place!

The desserts are DELICIOUS! I recently tried their gluten free peach cobbler cheesecake and wish I got more than one slice. The service here is always great and they will inform you if your order is taking a little longer than expected. The music is always great and the establishment is always clean and smelling fresh. This is a great place to stop by and the food will never disappoint. I am glad to have found this restaurant and I will come back very very soon.

I go here often enough and the customer service is amazing. They also have rewards and an app now…read moreso I recommend getting your points. Nice black-owned spot with variety of vegan options and it is clean. There's space to dine-in and they are open on Sundays. The energy is also open enough where strangers will have a convo while waiting. Coming from Brooklyn, I'm happy to have this spot so close to where I am now. Savory: My go-to is the chickpea tuna sandwich. I've tried it on a roll, long sub, and gluten-free... highly recommend the long sub. It's way too messy on the roll for me. Typically get it with the works. The potato salad is also very good most of the time (sometimes the potatoes are a little undercooked). I've also had the macaroni salad and the fried mushroom sandwich which are also good. I definitely enjoyed the thanksgiving special with stuffing (highly recommend that if they bring it back this year). Tip: if ordering a hero and you don't see yourself eating the entire thing in one sitting, I recommend requesting for the sandwich to not be cut so you can cut it evenly on your own For baked goods: the peach cobbler is good and it comes in a cute cup with a little spoon. I've also had the lemon cake & rum cake. Would order all 3 again. Would love to see donuts or cinnamon rolls (hopefully without cashews or walnuts due to my allergy). DRINKS: I haven't had a drink there that I would get again. The teas are overwhelmingly sweet; hibiscus punch was a lot like kool-aid to me. I also don't recommend the matcha if you are a matcha snob. Harper's Cafe is a great black-owned spot for a consistently good latte and they use quality matcha if you want quality nearby. Great spot with lots of options, especially if you're looking for a black-owned spot to support.

After giving this place several chances, I keep having the same issue: the flavor selection just isn't very exciting. They do rotate a few seasonal flavors--I noticed a new pumpkin one today--but otherwise, it feels like I'm looking at the same limited choices every time I come in. Nothing really makes me say, "Wow, I have to try that." Today I went with the Cherry Vanilla and strawberry, Unfortunately, it was another disappointment. I was expecting actual pieces of cherry or some real fruit throughout the ice cream, like I've had at other ice cream parlors, but it was basically just flavored cream. Very plain. For around the same price, I've been to other places with much more creative flavors, better variety, and ice cream loaded with real fruit and ingredients you can actually see and taste. One thing I definitely appreciate is that they're open until around 10 p.m. on weeknights. These days, that's actually a big plus, especially for a local spot. I respect that they're willing to keep the staff there later because not everybody finishes work at 5 or 6 p.m. Sometimes you just want to stop somewhere after a long day, grab some ice cream, and relax without having to rush before closing time. That convenience deserves some credit. I really wanted to like this place, which is why I kept coming back and giving it another chance. Happy fall, everyone!

Chip City is a franchise that specializes in baking cookies with a soft, gooey center. The Montclair location is on a busy main street. Street parking is difficult to find during peak hours. It's conveniently open until 1AM on weeknights and 3AM on weekends! When I walked in, I couldn't get over how cute and bright the store was. It's small with very limited seating. To whoever is in charge of the marketing, design, and logos... kudos to you! A very sweet and friendly employee answered all of my questions and helped me out. Since I came much later in the evening, I was worried there wouldn't be that many cookies available, but I was wrong. There were plenty AND they were still fresh too! They offer classic flavors as well as seasonal and specialty ones. Flavors are rotated weekly and you can check the website for the line-up. Dairy free options are available. There's a ton of creative flavors, so don't miss out! In addition to regular cookies, they also sell crookies (croissant/cookie hybrid), cretzels (croissant/pretzel/cookie hybrid), ice cream, and merchandise! Each cookie is around $5+, but trust me... they are dense, large, and can be shared with other people. Did I want to buy 4? Yes... but I have self control (sometimes) LOL, so I stuck with buying a classic Cookies N' Cream. It has a buttery sugar cookie base loaded with crushed chocolate cookie sandwiches and creamy white chocolate - basically tastes like an Oreo milkshake! What I love about these cookies is that they don't just taste like a giant blob of sugar. You can actually appreciate and distinguish between the different flavors and ingredients. If you prefer crispy/crunchy cookies, you probably won't be a fan. If you enjoy cookies with a slightly crunchy exterior, but a soft, warm, ooey, gooey (almost raw-like) interior, Chip City is for you! Every bite is sweet & decadent, but not overwhelming. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program to get discounts and freebies! GET GOOEY!!!
