I didn't love haunted banana which my ice cream sharer chose. We had no problem devouring the pistachio. I was able to sample the Figo original, which was too sweet for my liking. Although, I did enjoy the concept and flavor profile. I also sampled the Nerone chocolate and will have to splurge a full cup next time. It's rich and terrifically chocolatey. I'll be dreaming of it until my next trip. I haven't been this excited about any dessert in a while, and it's given my life meaning again. No exaggeration.

And it being near closing time (midnight) helped! So I actually selected sorbet instead of gelato, and the sorbets were incredible! They really capture the fruit at peak tastiness. I went with the strawberry, mango, and lemon (simply because I couldn't decide on two), and they while they were all truly exceptional, I would have to bestow upon lemon the gold. The employees were very friendly, and one even gave us a few extra samples. My companions had nothing but praise for their gelato flavors, especially the pistachio. Seek frozen refreshment from Figo posthaste!

A very late night drive through Queens and we decided to check out this place as I was craving…read moreQahwa. The place was a bit hard to find as the block where it is located has a lot of other restaurants, so we missed it at first drive by. The place is pretty big, and was surprisingly crowded at 12:30 AM. They carry coffee, desserts, tea's and have a small counter in the middle. We ordered the Khaliat Alnahl - A Yemeni desert consisting of soft pull apart butter cheese-filled rolls drizzled with honey, which was amazing and disappeared fast. The tea was also very flavorful and we enjoyed our visit. It is a bit far from where I live, but if ever in Queens and after landing at La Guardia, thi will be my go to place.

We placed our order at the register and grabbed one of the open tables. We got the Chai Tea and an order of Khaliat Alnahl ($8). The chai was really good, not too sweet and had a nice strong flavor. We were able to get about six cups out of the teapot. The Khaliat Alnahl, which is one of their popular pastries, was also really good. It wasn't overly sweet, which I liked. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend this place if you're looking to end the night with some tea and dessert. They have coffee as well, which I'll have to try the next time I stop by. * Street parking * Can be a bit loud * Gender neutral restroom

Gold N Honey was the winner of my last stop destination and the final recommended visit of Jando S. I'd never had Loukoumades before, but they are essentially large donut holes. There are many different types of toppings you can add, most of which are quite appealing, but I went with the Gold N Cream, which had chocolate, bavarian cream and biscotti. Upon my first bite, I assumed I would only be able to eat a few of my box because of the aforementioned crazy eating before coming here. But as I kept going, I realized, somehow, these little delights were nowhere near as heavy and filling as they looked. And by the end of it, I suffered zero stomach-based consequences from my actions. This can only mean that loukoumades are extremely healthy and amazing for you. They're practically grilled chicken! The cold brew was fine - it got the job done and saved me from an epic food coma. And I got to try a new dessert, so everyone won on this day.

I've had my eye on this place for years - should have come here sooner…read more Black sesame basque cheesecake: my favorite of the 4 I tried. This is actually cheesecake rather than the lighter Japanese version, with a strong black sesame flavor. Hojicha creme brulee: this came as part of a promotion, and the taste is strong. They do brulee the top on the spot and my sugar top got a little too burnt. Oolong tea cheesecake: still good, would get this again still. Lighter flavor but the floral flavor does come out at the end of a bite. Coconut milk jelly: the lightest of the flavor but still sweet and flavorful enough to come through. There's a dusting of graham crackers and strawberry jelly to complement. We also got a hot matcha jasmine latte but it was actually cold. It seems like it normally comes iced and perhaps they have no way of warming up the jasmine part. There's a points program and tons of promotions that rotate. There have also been different desserts that rotate so I'll have to keep coming back to try more. They have a lunch special too where you can get a drink or dessert for less cost.
