Willibrew is a great place, I go there with my kids fairly regularly. The beer is always wonderful, the food varies from ok to great. Service is always friendly and efficient, plus the servers are always good to the kids. Chowder on Friday is always good, very meaty clam chowder or sometimes combined seafood (real seafood) chowders. Salads are good. Entrees are generally very good. Fish and chips have not been too our liking, way too much batter and kind of greasy. This is a pretty busy place at dinner time, reservations are recommended, and if you want a weekend evening it is best to make your reservations a couple of days in advance to get a specific time. And the beer is really good. In my opinion it is better than any other local brew I have had. They also make barleywine, but i have never tried that. read more

I'm not much of a drinker but I love the fact that they have locally brewed beers and wine from local vineyards. I love the food. The late night menue is even delicious. The MSC has the best BBQ ribs around. The juicy rib meat just falls off of the bone. They also have great grilled sandwiches and wings. You will not be let down by there menue! read more

Nothing similar around these thar parts. Neat historic setting, good beer and decent service. The food is ok, but the menu is helpfully labeled with vegetarian options and there are plenty. They serve a local soda which is pretty yummy. read more

I have been here twice with my work mates and its the best place to try out wings + beer. They have a great selection of drinks with some nice spicy wings to go along with it. They have their own brewery and their specials are worth to try. Service and the ambiance is pretty good compared to the other chain restaurants. Have tried nachos, some entrees and its good and no complains. The place is located in the interiors of CT and its a nice drive out of this place. Especially the gas prices are way low at this town :P Will I go again here, hell yah ! read more

Beers were great... Eastford Eggplant...pasta was all stuck together...not bad but not something I would not get again... Sandwiches were fine...chowder was weird..clams are sort of gooey...but tasted good. Service was good...but we sat in the dining room just inside the door...the woman at the front desk has one sentence..."Do you have reservations?" spoken in the same monotone voice over and over...like twenty times...we started to laugh. Atmosphere is OK...maybe re-think the posters of little snapshots and the coaster frames...very echo-ey...needs some interior design work...drop the lighting level... Did not seem to be any managers around...lots of running...maybe a bit short staffed but the fact they are full on a Monday says alot...it works in Willi..give them credit...but we'll stay closer to Hartford onthe next trip.. read more

The parking was horrible. When you walk in it is a tight, cramped alley with the bar smashed up against the door which is odd for such a huge building. The food was all fried food options, not great. The beer was really good and we enjoyed it but all the other negatives, especially the food options would probably stop us from going back. read more

Our to go place for bar food and drinks. Good atmosphere and good service. Nachos are the best!!!!

The beer is excellent. There is always something new to try, and the old standbys that make many appearances are well worth keeping on the menu. The food is okay. The menu is very clever, having postal codes and names of local towns (since it is a converted post office). They have excellent veggie options (love the portobello mushroom wrap). Better than traditional bar food, but overall it's just okay. read more

Consistently amazing service, food, beer, and environment. I've been going there for the better part of 2 years and it's just fantastic. There are so many beers to choose from, including their rotating selection of home-brewed beer, and they're open LATE. They are always more than accomodating when I bring my girlfriend (who is under 21) here late at night. A word of advice: GET THE NACHOS. This is the single best thing about the place, they are HUGE, DELICIOUS, AND PRICED JUST RIGHT! It's wonderful, but make sure that you make reservations if you plan on dining there pretty much any night of the week. It's constantly busy because of how good it is! read more

The beers were great and the drink list was extensive. The wait was a little slow, though. As far as food goes, we stuck with appetizers since we were told by friends that the entrees were sub par. The BBQ wings were good, but the nachos were sub par at best. They were burnt on the top layer, which made it hard to want to get past it to the rest of the chips. If you want good beer, absolutely make the trip. If you want something to eat, I'd try something else. read more

Best martinis and the nachos are to die for! Food is fantastic and atmosphere is so cool! Love this place

I hear this is good. Never got to find out. Place was packed no one was doing seating and the staff ignored us. Went across the street to Cafemantic. Excellent food and great service. read more

One of the best spots in Willi. The wait is a tad annoying the food and drinks make up for it all. Their nachos are to die for !!!!!

As a student at UConn, there is not much choice for going out. If you are a grad student even less unless you want to bump into your students at their regular hangouts on campus. Therefore, we have become regulars at Willibrew. The wings are good and the lowest level of spiciness is totally enough for me. Even my boyfriend orders the buffalo chicken wrap with sauce on the side... Don't go with the naked ones, however, they are completely flavorless. The burgers are good and there are many varieties in the build your own section. I also like the flatbread pizza, it's just a tiny little but too greasy. The salads are nothing special, but they do have some nice dressings. Most people come of course for the beer. I don't like beer personally but I have taken many people here who do and who liked choice and taste. The waiters are super knowledgable and recommend something you will like. Atmosphere is nice, just a little loud at times. Wait can be up to an hour on most nights. There is a small outdoor seating area which you don't get often around here. All in all, a must for anybody around Willimantic! read more

Went lastnight for my daughters birthday, had the pulled pork nachos which are always amazing, also had a fried shrimp special, which was decent, but not outstanding. My flatbread pizza was delicious as always, and my mom said their veggie burger was the best she's ever had. My daughter loved her burrito, but the standout amongst all of this delicious food was their chocolate mousse! It was amazing. It was given as a birthday dessert and at first I was disappointed it wasn't their chocolate cake, but after one bite I quickly realized how wrong I was! Mousse was wonderful, little bits of chocolate goodness throughout that made the texture even more spectacular. Service was perfect and we even purchased 3 of their shirts. Great experience overall read more

After my fourth time there, i can't see myself going back until there is MAJOR change. Firstly, the food is good. There isnt a thing on the menu they can make poorly, which is a good sign they know what they're doing. That's the one star they earned. Their staff are all assholes. Not one server i had was nice to me about anything. Too rushed, no smiles, and dont want to have any sort of conversation with you. You're only allowed to be inside for 90 minutes. I was kicked out after 90 minutes of eating even though there was nobody waiting!!!! I asked the staff why and all they could tell me was things about "policy" "thats just the rules" "covid-19" like give me a fucking break. The last time i went there i tried to order their pastrami sandwich (excellent btw), the lady said they cant make it today because it's a special. I asked her when i can have it. She said she doesnt know, only on certain days (undisclosed to me). So i ordered something else with their potato salad. Did you know that they serve you potato salad in a to-go container? Plastic container, pre-made potato salad that tastes like it was made weeks ago. read more

One tip - get the nachos. I got a pasta dish and it was delicious, and the portions are huge! There is a huge selection of beers so there is definitely something to satisfy everyone. I didn't try any but my boyfriend really liked what he got. read more

One of my favorites!! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the coleslaw it is way too chunky and hard. It seem like it's never bruised but tastes awesome!! I sure hope they start making it soft again because I love the slaw with my burger. Update they fixed the slaw it is soft and eatable once again!! I love this place read more

Its just so disappointing that restaurants dont focus on a limited menu of fresh quality food. There are too many different items on the menu. all of them that i've tried have been average at best. The burgers are still pre-pressed frozen patties. Good thing the beer list is great. read more

The food was good and the atmosphere was amazing loved coming here and had a amazing time the service was grade A. Plus the bathrooms were so clean! Definitely would recommend! read more

Overall a decent place to have a beer and bite but they can definitely improve on their service. The beer is good but I can't really say that about the food. It's a hit or miss. The food is mediocre at best and can definitely be better for the prices. They also take forever to take your order and bring it out. Either way this place is a go to spot in this town when you need a good beer and something quick to eat. read more

This is a favorite of mine! It is a little loud in the pub side but it is still my favorite place to eat. There are low tables that seat 4-8 people as well as counter height tables. The dining room side can accommodate larger groups and you'll have a great view of the fermenting tanks. The menu is 5 pages and won't disappoint! The WBP is in an old post office so it is appropriate that the menu items are named after Connecticut Towns and zip codes. Since I live in Colchester, one example is the 06415 Colchester Cobb Salad. Don't hesitate to go to WilliBrew as we like to call it! read more

Love this place! I'm here weekly for the food and drinks. Great place to go out with friends or family. I usually get their stuffed chicken, sliders or wings which are delicious. I would pass on their flatbread pizzas as every time I try one I am disappointed but there is so much more to choose from that I don't mind much. If you're coming with a group I recommend the nachos as they are yummy but hugeeee. My friend and I have attempted to get them on our own and fail miserably to finish them each time. read more

Best Brewery anywhere! Great bar food. Very good daily specials. Occasional beer dinners are fantastic! Also the best lemon drop martinis. Always our favorite place. read more

A well rounded and large beer selection from their own recipes and other breweries. Many food options too.

How did I miss the fact that this is in a a converted post office?! The atmosphere is fantastic, so light and airy and fun with all kinds of preserved details rom the post office. There's even a great outdoor patio. The cocoa coconut beer was so delicious we took a growler home and we aren't even typically flavored beer types. The appetizers are definitely the star of the show. The potato skins were perfectly cooked with very fresh broccoli. The nachos passing by also looked delicious. The vegetarian taco salad was huge but a bit disappointing. It was really (admittedly yummy) chili with chips and a few pieces of lettuce. A better ratio of greens to chili and some sour cream or other dressing would have gone a long way. The shaved steak sandwich was great, with a huge buttery bun and good steak fries. It was a little on the pricey side but a great way to spend an afternoon. When we come back we'll probably stick to beer and apps. read more

TLDR: Go here. now. Great space, unique atmosphere. They incorporated the brewery into the old post office (a fancy old post office, not just the one down the street from your house). Great beer made with fine craftsmanship. Friendly staff (even when it's busy). The brewmaster is often around and willing to chat about the brews. So, whether you are a homebrewer, a historian, or just looking for a place to grab a pint, you should stop in. read more

I have been coming here for years and hope to be for many more. Amazing food, amazing beer selections and amazing staff. What else could I ask for? Oh ya, did I mention they are also a micro brewery? Every time I come here I am never disappointed. Not only is their draft selection great, but their craft brews are amazing. The nachos and burgers are awesome and highly suggested. The atmosphere here is the best. An old post office turned into a microbrewery/bar = Genius!!! Huge ceilings, great dinning area and a killer bar. The bar is huge and has plenty of seats. There is also a nice outdoor seating area which I enjoy as well. Can I give this place 6 stars? read more

Heard about this place for a while, finally went last night. Glad to see they have a parking lot, with plenty of space. Love the old building and the atmosphere. The beer selection is fantastic and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. Had the "oy vey" spicy hot wings and a cheeseburger. The wings were incredibly spicy, but not obnoxiously so. I'd say they were just right. It seems like the wings got less spicy as their temperature cooled, but maybe I'd built up a tolerance. My friend had the chili, which was okay. Mostly chili, very few chips, which is unusual. Most places load up on chips and skimp on the chili. We sat in the bar, which quickly filled up. There were folks waiting for seats/tables on a Tuesday, which was good to see. I'll definitely return again. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the bartenders were not quite as attentive as they could have been. We sat at the end of the bar, but we usually had to call out to them when they were nearby if we needed something. Seems like they spent most of the time at the other end of the bar (even though the whole bar was full). read more

Atmosphere: This is one of my favorite places. It's an old post office with very high ceilings and lots of original wood trim. Most of the time the service is great. I did catch one girl refilling my pint glass once instead of giving me a clean one. I hate that. Beer: The beer is amazing. One of the best in CT. They brew their own and have a huge guest list. Every style is represented. Craft beer drinkers dream! Food: Food is mostly good. I eat burgers and the last few times I was there I had excellent burgers. Try one of their fry upgrades. It's worth it. Summary: This is one of the best places in CT for beer lovers. You won't find a bud light in here. Only the best! Go here and drink beer. Message to Owner: Bring back the pickles! I'll even pay a little extra for my burger. read more

Awesome place, with a huge selection of food and draft beers. For $5.95 you get a five draft sampler which is a great deal. Great idea having this brewery in an old post office, this gives it a very unique style. Only negatives would be parking isn't very good and you can't take a tour of the brewery, can't wait for the next visit. read more

Willimantic Brewing Company - Breweries Near Me - Willimantic, Connecticut

The brewery part is really good, so... I guess... check out the beer if you're a brew head like me. Also, the food is better than any of the fast food chains on that street... but frankly, I get better service at a corporate chain. I've never had worse than what I get at "Wilibrew", awful is consist. The people who say they love it say they know the owner, and everyone else seems to get treated like total crap. First time: my nachos were literally FREEZING. Second time: my parents waited for an hour extra than they were told, and when I mentioned the delay to the preteen host, he sassed me about having paged me four times. So they gave us an attitude AND the wrong pager, and maybe? comped a beer. Really upsetting, considering my parents drove up two hours to see me and I wanted to show them a nice place. Third time: The bartender could not split the bill for the life of him. HE asked if we wanted to split, and then screwed it up three or four times, and then was just a rude about it when I wrote down how it should be split for him. I really hate going here. I get treated like crap each time, it just sucks that there is nothing else in the area besides McDonalds and TacoBell (where the employees are actually friendlier). Screw the brewery, please stay away from this place. read more

3/29/15 Went with my wife and I. Definitely was underwhelmed. We ordered wings for an app. Many of the wings were undersized, without much meat. There are a number of restaurants nearby with much better wings. We were asked if we wanted ranch or blue-cheese dressing for the wings- we asked for blue cheese, which came very watery. We surmised that they take the ranch dressing and add blue cheese crumbles. Wife had the Mediterranean chicken- very sloppy, with 2-3x the amount of greens needed for the sandwich. She pulled out most of the greens and it looked like a side salad. She only ate 1/2 the sandwich, didn't like it much I had the stuffed chicken, 1/2 size portion. The portion was definitely large enough. The chicken, stuffing, and garlic mashed were all flavorful, but the cheese sauce made a heavy meal overwhelming. Beer was good, Service was good. read more

Good beer in a remade post office. I did not eat there but the food looked great at the tables around us. And I saw a beer boot at the bar so they must have fun there! read more

We've been coming here for over 10 years and Willibrew is a cultural staple in the local and beer community. The pub special scallop salad was awesome. Hope to see it become in the regular rotation of whimsically named dishes after local places in Windham county. read more

This place is a true gem, and I'm so sorry to say I haven't been in a while due to no longer being a "Willi local". Their food is top notch and their beers are some of the most creative I've tried without being snobby. Their beer list truly has something for everyone, from those just getting into craft beer to the more "seasoned hobbyists". The restaurant is the perfect place to gather for a family meal, or to meet up with old or new friends. The staff are dedicated, knowledgeable and badass! Make sure you grab the nachos (however you like them)--they're the best in CT. I also have always been impressed by their French onion soup. No matter how far away I live Willibrew will always feel like home. read more

Great Atmosphere! My lunch special wasn't spectacular but good. Ask the bartender what to get, she seemed very helpful! I didn't asked and just order. The beer is great! read more

The portions were small for the price. My husbands meal was beef in a nice glaze. It was a special for that day. It was very tasty but quite small. My meal was fish and chips. I thought for $18 that it would have been very special but it was ordinary at best and also a small portion. My own fault for really wanting fish and chips and setting my expectations too high I guess. I don't think we will go back unless we want nachos. Saw some people with those and they looked pretty good. read more

Blown away by the this place. From the pizza to the onion soup to the pretzel app. Then add the beer. I drove an hour to this place and I will be back. Great service to top it off.
