I'm only leaving a review because I am a BBQ snob from Memphis TN, that being said I have to say the pork on the sandwich was not dry and had a strong Smokey taste . Not crazy about the Texas toast but it was still good. My only complaint is that there was no Cole slaw on the Sandwhich which is like a PB and J sandwich without the J . It's good BBQ tho. Ok well I hate to leave a bad review on this place but here goes.... nice staff cool set up inside and clean but man let me tell you the ribs I ordered were really just not good at all. They were tuff no flavor almost watery inside just plain bad. The brisket, not anything to write home about either tuff and flavorless but better than the ribs. Asked staff if I could buy the sausage she had recommended while ordering and offered to pay for it. She ended up giving it to me on the house so that was nice and it was actually pretty tasty. Maybe a consistency issue here I don't know but for a 30$ lunch I need it to be on point this was not. I probably won't be back unfortunately because I love good BBQ. read more

Can't believe I am leaving a bad review for a BBQ place that we loved. Stopped and got a rack of ribs for supper tonight and got home and they are not edible. I wouldn't feed them to my dogs. Opened the box and the smell wasn't good. They looked grey. No sauce and heavy peppercorns. No rub, no nothing. The meat would not come off the bone. Tried to eat them but couldn't. Glad I didn't after looking through the box. Not sure if I got ribs that weren't cooked all the way or what. Needless to say it is the worst ribs I have ever had in my life. read more

Nothing like it used to be. The ribs were absolutely rubber and that seasoning is horrible. So sad it's not real BBQ anymore.

We ordered a full rack of ribs and sausage. The ribs tasted like it was made with liquid smoke because there was bitterness and toughness to the meat. It was kind of disappointing. The 1 star I am giving is due to the wonderful service we had. We ordered a three meat combo of pork, turkey, and brisket with beans and Mac and cheese with corn bread. We received ribs, turkey and brisket which we weren't even going to mention but our server saw it and did bring out a double portion of pork and extra cornbread. Two positives that don't rectify the rest of the food are 1) the turkey was good. Smoked but not dry and well seasoned. 2) their sweet heat bbq sauce has a nice spike of heat. Now to the rest of it: Cornbread: dry and lacking any true flavor Baked beans: felt like they had once been in a can then some sort of ingredients added. Mac and cheese: this was an over peppered scoop of glue. It obviously had been sitting in a warmer or pan for a LOONNGG time and was absolutely congealed . Ribs: my first bite wasn't bad but then I got hit with the bitter smoke taste from being over smoked or dirty smoked. They fell off the bone which in my opinion isn't great - slide off the bone with pressure is good, fall off is over cooked. Brisket: it was smoked but pretty sure finished in a pan and left there because it was over cooked and chewy. Pulled (chopped) pork: this was okay, definitely smoked but needed sauce as it was dry. Overall, we were so disappointed and to whomever said they were bbq judges must have dead taste buds. read more

I so hate to leave a bad review for this place. This was my go to BBQ place when it was open. It was probably the best BBQ I've ever tasted, except for my own lol. It was just never opened. Then I found out it opened back up so I jumped in the car and drove over there with a buddy. It must have changed hands. He got chicken and pulled pork. I got the brisket. His chicken was definitely over done and had been in the smoker for way too long. He said the pulled pork was good but there was no smoke to it and it tasted as though it was cooked in the oven. My brisket wasn't good. It was tough, no smoke ring or flavor and the fat wasn't even rendered. I brought this up to the manager. I asked him if the brisket was actually smoked because it was tough with no smoke flavor and the fat wasn't rendered. He told me that brisket has been in the smoker for 22 hours. I told him that's impossible because it doesn't even have a smoke ring. He then came up with a story that the new smoker wasn't working right and he just found out minutes ago. The sides I got were really good as usual and the sauces were good. Everything else kinda sucked. I'm going to give it another try. Hopefully it's back to where it used to be. But I doubt it. So sad I loved that place. read more

Well, I tried the ribs for the first time after they reopened. Ribs were not up to par like before. There was little to no bark and were tougher than they have been. Little to no smoke ring. I've had Willie Mae's countless times before they closed down and they were some of the best I've ever had, every single time. But not now. I'll try them again, but either the cooking method needs adjustment or the cook is doing something wrong. Something isn't right and I was disappointed. Totally worth stopping here for lunch and, if you're visiting Nashville, it's more than worth the drive out here to eat (it's better than any BBQ I've found in the city). Everything is delicious -- especially the Mac n cheese! Lunch can be busy, so be patient and make sure you have enough time to eat. There's a small parking lot, but also street parking nearby.
