The food is pretty good but super expensive. The staff is generally pretty abrasive and the facilities are typically pretty grungy. Some folks go crazy for this place and it is conveniently located if your on your way out of Springfield, but overall I would recommend spending that kind of money someone else. read more

5 stars on the chicken but all of that is taken away by the rude woman at taking our order. I drive 45 minutes because I love the fried chicken here so much. They were unfortunately out of thighs at 1:30pm, which is ridiculous, and I was rudely informed they will not be making any more. This woman seemed annoyed that we dare even ask a question and had an angry tone. I'm not sure who pissed in this woman's koolaid but it's not my fault she hates her job and people at that. This is probably the last time I come here because she is not the first rude one I've encountered here. If you have the audacity to also want a larger order to go you will be scolded like a child for not calling ahead. How dare I slow them down by having to place 6 more pieces in a box. If I do go back and it happens again I will come unglued and there will be a scene. read more

Douglas BP has always been our favorite restaurant for lunch. In the past we have invited friends from Nashville and Hendersonville to join us for lunch at Douglas BP, but I regret that is no longer the case. It has been apparent the last few months that the quality of the food and the size of the servings have drastically decreased. The fried chicken they now serve is half the size of the chicken breast they served months ago. The green beans are not seasoned or even cooked like they once were. A lot of elderly people went to Douglas for lunch because they had full servings of food they could eat some and still have enough for dinner. This was a great help to the elderly, but portions have been cut by half. I realize the price of food, supplies and staff have increased, but I believe people would prefer to pay a little more to have the quality and proper serving size back to what was offered months ago. We will still have lunch at Douglas on certain days, but that has been cut back to just maybe once a month. Although they are busy I have noticed the customers have declined in number. Please Douglas BP up your game bring back the Douglas BP the entire community loved. read more

I would recommend this business if it was the early 2000's , but nowdays anytime I go by it's roulette if they're going to be open or not. I've went there on a Tuesday at 10am ... closed.... Monday at 8:30am.... Closed... then during the week they like close at 2pm or something.. I can't fathom how they stay in business if they're never open to sell business. This place use to be the SPOT... the biscuits in the morning have gone downhill too. They aren't good anymore they're hard as a rock, this is the last time I'm going to try and get a biscuit from here. I hate to say it because this place was my childhood... aw well read more

I became acquainted with Mr. Douglas via a shared internet interest, and only visited his restaurant when coming to meet him. Had the tour of the kitchen and got the whole story of the business. Then ate lunch. Great baby back ribs! I like the dry rub sauce better than the add-on sauces, which are vinegar based, but the extra hot sauce was still very good. They have different meats depending on the day of the week, and serve till they sell out. Choices, according the day, include the ribs (2 types), pulled pork, pork chops, fried chicken, and probably some others I forget. This place should likely be listed uder restaurants as well as convenience stores, since everyone I saw there at lunchtime came for the food. read more

This is my go to place for BBQ. Their breakfast and lunch meat n three are both excellent, but trust me you want the pulled pork. I live in Nashville, and this is worth the drive. Don't let the gas station facade throw you, these people are expert BBQers and even make their own pork cracklings. These are the places I miss when I moved to the city. People in Nashville rave over Jacks, while I simply chuckle and think if they only new. You can get this BBQ for around $5 a pound for pulled pork. That is absolutely ridiculous! I suggest you make plans to have a big shin-dig at your house, and let Mr. Douglas take care of the food. The sides are hit or miss, but they offer about 15 different sides, so you should find something you like. read more

This is a terrific meat and three. Maybe the best one I have ever been to. Food is great and there's plenty of it for small money. Cafeteria style and mostly breakfast and lunch.
