ONE STAR -- DO NOT SHOP HERE

I specifically requested the darkest available transitional prescription lenses for my Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Jordan, who was courteous and helpful, told me those lenses required outside laboratory work and would take approximately 10-14 days. He explained that ordinary transitional lenses could be completed in-house, but the darkest lenses had to be sent away. I repeatedly confirmed that I wanted the "darkest-darkest" transitional lenses.
When I received the glasses, the lenses were not what I requested and appeared no darker than my ordinary transitional glasses. They also did not appear to contain the prescription I expected. Because I was leaving for Canada, I immediately called Jordan. He instructed me to return after my trip and assured me that the problem could be corrected. When I returned, Jordan was no longer employed there.
Manager Shelby examined the glasses and told me the lenses could be replaced at no charge. Later, the store changed its position and demanded approximately another $100 for the lenses I had requested from the beginning. Nayah had to consult Shelby and search through the computer system before telling me what Jordan supposedly should have entered. The employees appeared uncertain about the lens products they were selling, yet I was expected to accept their conclusion and pay more money.
I was never given a complete itemized order to review before my credit card was charged. I paid $310.71. When I later demanded my documentation, it showed a total of $1,002.65, a $154.40 VSP insurance payment, and an unexplained balance of $537.54. My payment and the recorded insurance payment total $465.11, yet the paperwork still shows that I owe more than $500 instead of showing a zero balance. I am contacting VSP directly to determine exactly what was billed, paid, adjusted, and charged against my insurance benefits.
The customer service was also unacceptable. Shelby repeatedly said she did not know the answers to questions about products sold in her own store, returned to her cellphone instead of assisting me, argued with me, and accused me of being "all over the place" and not knowing what I wanted. That was untrue and disrespectful. I clearly requested the darkest transitional lenses from the beginning.
James was present during my final visit but did not identify himself as a district manager or meaningfully intervene. He later called and promised to send his contact information so I could forward my prescription, but he never sent it. Instead, I was offered an inexpensive pair of sunglasses, which did nothing to resolve the problem with the costly Ray-Ban Meta prescription glasses I had already purchased.
Before allowing Vision 4 Less to charge your credit card, demand a complete itemized invoice. Verify every product, lens, upgrade, insurance payment, adjustment, prescription, and remaining balance. If you do not understand the lens names or codes, research them, use ChatGPT to help explain the terminology, and then verify everything directly with the manufacturer and your insurance company. Do not leave without written confirmation that your balance is zero.
After repeated trips to Baton Rouge, conflicting explanations, broken promises, missing documentation, and an unresolved order, I no longer trust this company to handle my glasses. I have submitted a formal corporate complaint seeking a full refund of my $310.71, reversal of the VSP claim, restoration of my insurance benefits, reimbursement for unnecessary travel expenses, and a complete written explanation of every amount appearing on my account.
Do not shop here unless you are prepared to independently verify everything they enter and everything they bill. I do not want another customer to go through what I have experienced.
If you are looking for Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Walmart Vision Center also sells them and has a great selection. During my visit to the Walmart Vision Center in Gonzales, the manager and assistant manager were knowledgeable, answered my questions, explained the available products, and provided the kind of assistance I should have received from Vision 4 Less.
