The doctor communicated through a "technician". It was not the personal approach someone wants when visiting a doctor. The technician could not get an accurate reading for one of the tests and I had to make a appointment to visit again when an actual doctor was present in the store. When I returned, the tests went very smoothly. They have a good selection of eyeglasses and contact lenses. The prices are not shown or advertised with transparency. I was told that the glasses should arrive within their usual turnaround time of 10 days. Today (6 days later) I received a telephone call from them. I thought they were calling me to tell me that my glasses were ready, instead they called to inform me that I had an outstanding balance for the shipping of the frames and that I needed to pay the balance before they could order them. I told them that I had paid in full and had the receipt to prove it. They said that I owed them for the shipping. I was transferred to a different associate who reluctantly offered to waive the shipping fee. Since the glasses had not yet been ordered and I am suffering from headaches and dizziness without glasses and need them ASAP, I called right back and asked for the manager. The manager refused to refund me and said I would have to talk to the doctor himself. I have not heard from the doctor (Boudreaux). I had to resort to contacting my bank and open a dispute on the charges. In order to have an established eye doctor, since this is my first ever eye exam, I was willing to pay twice as much for glasses then I would have by ordering online, but this experience turned into a nightmare. After the phone conversation/s, I ordered a pair of better-quality lenses and frames with superior options online for about half the price of what they charged me, more or less $450 less and they will arrive by Friday (guaranteed or your money back)! What a poor way for them to conduct business. They have lost my business permanently. Additionally, my friend purchased glasses there a couple of weeks ago and they didn't fit properly. She had them adjust them and they still didn't fit properly, they kept falling off and one side was higher than the other. My friend has gone back to her old glasses. Take this review for what it's worth, from someone who went there in good faith and learned a lesson the hard way.

When I went in for glasses Jodi was very knowledgeable about finding and fitting my frame as well as knowing what progressive lens supported my prescription. I work on computers all day so they set me up with an affordable computer pair of glasses as well. The staff were super friendly and I will continue to tell everyone I know about this wonderful optical and how helpful, timely, and knowledgeable the staff is here. I've had 2 instances in the last 6 weeks with my kids and their sight equipment... first time baby girl had the leg on her glasses come off when the screw fell out. I didn't have a replacement screw and I didn't feel like driving into Baton Rouge to the place where the glasses were bought so I figured I'd pay whatever they charged to get it done local... stopped in asked if they could repair, didn't tell them I'd never been here before.... they said sure in under 10 minutes glasses back together and in my hand....I say what's the cost? They say nothing, free service...to myself I'm like Damn that's great! Thank them and leave.... A few weeks later the boy comes in with the lens out of his glasses... dropped them he said.... Back I go, the folks here look at them and 10 minutes later completely repaired.... how much I ask? Nothing, free service they say.... again I'm like Damn that's great! I'm pretty sure they know I've never used them before for eye exams but the staff has been 100% friendly, efficient and professional.... they offer exams, frames and lenses and after my repair experiences I'm thinking I may have to start taking my kids here.... When you go in you will be treated with very welcoming front desk and they call or text us to make sure come 15 min early to the appointment. When I have eye exam appointment it's really quick; you usually don't wait any longer than 5-10 min and get done in 20 min. They have a lot of modern technology like retinal screening that you don't need to dilate your eyes for exams to quickly get over the exam and it only takes few min. After everything was examined, the doctor (Dr. Carlin this time, Dr. Waguespack is great too) came out and explained everything and answered all my question. While everything was quick, it was not rushed and and I got a comprehensive assessment and clear feedback what I should be doing to better my eye health. The best part was the staff; the front desk was so nice, checked on my well being and made sure if my insurance was able to cover without asking. After ordering contacts she deliberately give me a lot of contact solutions to take home and I was so thankful. It was such a very good experience overall.

I needed a pair of contacts since I was not able to see and with this heat it's almost impossible to keep your eyeglasses on your face without it slipping off. I searched for the nearest optometrist office and this office popped up. Luckily, they were able to take me in very quickly, and Dr. Carlin was able to see me. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and very accommodating since I had my two littles one with me. I have really dry eyes so he gave me several pairs of trial contacts to try to see which one fits my eyes best. Dr. Carlin did a very thorough exam and explained everything to me. In between the exam he'll also check in with the kids to make sure they were not bored. Ihighly recommend this office and Dr. Carlin. His professionalism and his knowledge made me feel comfortable walking into this office, and knowing I'll receive the best service. Your eyes are really important so I'm glad I was able to take care of it with someone I can trust.
