Alta Vista that was built in 1967. He also replaced a couple of burned out electrical outlets. John was busy and we had to wait a couple days but he was worth the wait! These guys are very service oriented and know what they are doing. I learned the hard way after having a bad experience with a supposed licensed contractor from Craigslist. Arizona Electric is professional! I will always go back to them if in need of future work! John - at one point - had recommended the owners brother to do some interior work and he spilled varnish all over the garage floor. I was very unhappy with that recommendation and paid the guy he sent less money because of the damage from the varnish that could not be removed. John is such a kind guy he went ahead and paid the brother of the owner the rest of the invoice even though as a subcontractor he did not deserve it. I respect that he works to do good by everyone. And he certainly is a knowledgeable electrician! You pay more but you get more! Call them.

This company was able to respond fast, and they get 3 stars for fixing *most* of it fast. But I hired them to fix all of it, and I paid them over $2.5K for the half day of work. While they were here, when I went out to see what was happening, no one would talk much to me. I'm a woman homeowner and I've found that some companies have workers who talk to me as the intelligent human who hired them, and some haven't figured out how to do that. This company belongs to be the latter category. (No women were on their work team unless you count the receptionist, unsurprisingly.) After they left some of the lights still weren't (and still aren't) working. I left a polite phone message asking for them to come check it out, and quickly got an email - not a phone call - in reply. The email said they will not come back even to look at it without charging me for $125/hour and they won't look at anything until I've paid them in full. (That little threat was sent to me less than 72 hours after this emergency occurred.) They seemed to have a close relationship with TEP, our utility, and it felt very much like working with a utility - not a great deal of customer power or choice.

Because I was in a pinch during the dog days of the extreme temps and unusual humidity in SE Arizona this summer, and David from Garrett Electrical, Inc. bent over backwards to squeeze me in for a quote, then got me on the schedule ASAP. I live with my husband full-time in our motorhome traveling wherever my husband wants to go. Mom & Dad's house is in Mescal, AZ, near Benson. Dad's health was failing rapidly, so I dropped everything and hopped on a plane in Des Moines, IA to get here to AZ as quickly as possible. My husband was left in Forest City, IA to drive all the way out to Arizona as fast as he could. It took him nearly six full days, as he was changing his route based on my updates on Dad. With the high temps in mid-August, I knew the 30-amp RV connection on their property needed to be upgraded to 50-amp STAT. I needed both of my roof air conditioners running to keep up with the grueling heat; I can only run one at a time with a 30-amp connection. I was at my favorite Benson pizza place, G&F Pizza, ordering takeout when I asked at the counter for a recommendation for electricians in the area. Without hesitation, she told me to call David with Garrett Electrical. She was spot on! I called late in the afternoon to explain the situation and ask if he could help. David stopped by that same day after his scheduled work was through! I could tell from my own past career experience in the construction industry that he knew what he was talking about. He found the shortest route for the new cable to run for what we needed, which saved us money, since there was no longer a need to dig a trench.
