My wife and I happened to wander into the Williams-Sonoma in Manhattan Beach last Sunday with no particular mission other than to browse. I was immediately drawn to the espresso machines. Don't ask! We were greeted right away and exchanged a few pleasantries before continuing to look around. A little later, a woman who I think may have been the manager mentioned that Jonathan was their espresso machine expert and introduced us. Jonathan was friendly, knowledgeable, and immediately offered us a drink. "How about a cold brew?" Absolutely! I've been considering a De'Longhi fully automatic espresso machine for quite a while, and Jonathan took the time to answer my questions without any sales pressure. He helped me narrow down the models and gave me the confidence that I know exactly what I'll be buying when I'm ready. This trip was for gift shopping, so nothing came home for me this time, but I'll definitely be back. I've always liked Williams-Sonoma, and this visit reminded me why. Came in today hunting for my favorite olive oil (Olio) and then decided to add a wild card to the mix, this time going with the Honiblanca brand-which also comes highly recommended. Who would have known you could come to William and Sonoma and choose from an absolute bunch of olive oil gems? The CSA (CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL STAR) of this experience was none other than Teresa-pictured. I had just walked in the store when a white hair old lady that is the cashier there approached me and told me to shhhhh , lower my voice.I think she must be an unhappy old white woman.the music is loud in there. I looked around and noticed all the other customers were talking very loud but the difference is they were blond white people.they need to be very careful how they approach customers that are shopping in there. I walked in the store feeling happy to see all the Christmas items. As I was walking around I felt all eyes on me as I was a thief. I handed my items to the sales lady and she was rushing me out of there. I have been a very long time costumer with an outstanding amount of purchases so from this store. came to this store because I found a beautiful gift online, ordered it for pick up. I got sick the morning I had planned to pick up so I called and spoke to Jonathan who was so nice and helpful. I came to the store to pick up my order. As I walked in I was instantly greeted by Jonathan (I didn't realize it was him at that point) and made my way to the counter to ask for my order. I stood waiting for a moment to see who was available at the counter then walked up to a woman at a register. she looked me directly in my face, no smile, no I'll be right with you, nothing then looked down at her register as though I wasnt even there. I was a little stunned and taken back, before I could even collect my thoughts Jonathan swooped in and helped me. I was still a little stunned by the way the woman (not putting her name on purpose) had completely dismissed me. He got my package together and honestly I just was so bothered and uncomfortable I asked if the woman was the manager and was told no and pointed to the manager. I honestly was just a little exhausted but went ahead and spoke to Andrea. she was kind and went out of her way to make me comfortable. I explained to her that honestly I'm just exhausted with this kind of behavior. I work very hard for my money and am very particular about where I spend my money. I legitimately felt so unwelcome at this store. it's unfortunate that one disrespectful behavior could really just wipe out the kindness of everyone else. The world is a tricky place right now and it just make this kind of experience worse. Perhaps I am sensitive but perhaps I'm not. I dont know. when I mentioned to Andrea that I was exhausted of this kind of behavior she said yeah the holidays were a lot, it had nothing to do with the holidays. William Sonoma is not a place I shop often (I used to) so this was just really unfortunate. on my way out the store Lola apologized for my experience and I was grateful for her kindness. We are long time customer of this location William Sonoma. If you look up my bff's name, he has purchased from this location year round for himself, me, family and his staffs at the office, especially during the holidays. The employees here always so obnoxiously conceded! They don't really care about their customers or go out of their way to assist us to their full potential until they know you're going to be spending a few hundred dollars. Then all of a sudden their attitude changed. Looks like we have to drive a little bit further to the Santa Monica location if the future. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Do not purchase food items from Williams Sonoma- They have no RETURN/REFUND policy. I purchased lemon shortbread cookies for $34.95! The cookies were dry and tasteless. I took them back to the store the next day and was told that for health reasons, there were no returns on food. Health reasons?!?!? I didn't expect them to re-sell the damn cookies. There was nothing on the receipt that said no returns, in fact the receipt indicated the return period. The sales person said 'sorry' WILLIAM SONOMA DOES NOT GUARANTEE THEIR FOOD- Amazon, Gelsons, Trader Joe's and all other stores guarantee their food. Almost $35 for inedible cookies. I will never shop there again. It's not like they're the only store in town. SHAME ON THEM!!! read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at any Williams-Sonoma store, as it is so neat with small sale items spread throughout the store. The appearance of their products are so appealing, and the seasons or holidays dictate the displays and offers that are sometimes great deals. I've found January and July the best times to shop for deals, as they have marked down Christmas cookware and also midyear inventory they must move for the upcoming holidays and slow summer shopping. read more

There's not a lot of Williams Sonoma retail stores, so it's nice to see this here. Williams Sonoma has high quality kitchen housewares. It's a fun store to shop in if you love your kitchen and cooking. Parking can be tough right now with the construction going on in the parking lot, I think in preparation for the Manhattan Village face-lift renovation in 2019. read more

I'm inspired to write this review after my shopping experience at this Williams Sonoma at the Manhattan Village Mall. I was assisted by Jileena, the manager, who rang up some gourmet maraschino cherries that I purchased as a Father's Day gift for my son. She was very gracious in offering to wrap them for me and I walked out with them in a beautifully wrapped box with tissue in the bag as well! While browsing in the store, I saw a lot of food items that I wasn't aware they even carried that would be perfect for gifts, or for myself. I'll be back! read more

Although pricy, I enjoy shopping at William Sonoma, but have to agree that some staff members at this location can be more customer oriented and more approachable. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and only 1 woman (with glasses) greeted me, chatted if she could help me, and welcomed other customers. No one else said "boo" to me, which made me think "Why should I spend my money here, when Sur La Table or Crate and Barrel is just as good? I literally walked passed an older guy who merely nodded hello, and moved aside so I could pass. Never offered any assistance, even when I asked him about brining stuff. When I was at the check out, the same older guy rang me up, and that's it. No small talk on what I was doing... Nada! Then, I noticed as I was paying, he typed in some sort of email address into the computer. Hmm looked pretty shady! I'm wondering if it was for a customer survey? Customer offers? Who knows, since I was never asked, yet I spied an @ symbol as he quickly typed and pressed enter. I hope it wasn't a survey where he gives himself high marks he didn't deserve. I went in to make a purchase and was assisted by Marissa, assistant manager at the Manhattan Beach store. She seemed so attentive at first. Then I asked for help with my rewards account. She was looking into my purchase history and was eager to get the situation settled, but told me she needed to check with another office and would get to me. She took my information and gave me hers. She told me to email her if I didn't hear back. I never heard back, so I emailed her. Her response was so unprofessional and she gave me a number that was of no help. When I emailed her back, she never responded. Awful customer service! I am a regular WS customer. I'll really think twice about spending my time there again. Shame on you Marissa! read more

My wife likes good quality and likes this store. She buys often, although I believe it is too expensive, she thinks quality last and William Sonoma has that rep. She bought a le Creuset Casserole dish from this store exactly one month ago. Yesterday it cracked into three pieces. We went to the "empty" Covid-19 store and spoke to the manager who couldn't have less interest in helping us. We told her that we buy from William Sonoma because of their reputation for standing behind their products. She told us to take it up with Le Cruset. This may have a silver lining, maybe she won't shop here again and look for a store that will stand behind what they sell. read more

I came into this location to pick up a gift I bought online. I walked in and walked towards the cashier (older lady with red hair). She never greets me she just stairs at me. I explains to her that I had an order to pick up. After complete silence she then says "what is it"? I tell her what it is then she calls the girl on the girl in the back. She never once says ok it will be a few seconds she just walks away. The other sales associate was amazing thank you Andrea for helping me. Corporate definitely needs to be notified about this location. The employees are very biased, if you don't look a certain way, they are rude and nasty. I haven't been in this location in a couple of years and decided to stop in and take a look. Not one salesperson: would help me. So I went to another Culinary store whose employees were attentive, courteous, professional, and helpful. Throw all the employees away, hire some new ones, maybe send them to Chick fil A's or In n Out's customer service training. On August 26 I attended a "skills workshop" for charcuterie board at this store. The presenter was a self acknowledged influencer. She was very disorganized, jumping from one thing to the next, no clear presentation. But what was most disappointing was she kept texting on her phone with husband and family and even made a phone call. Generally I love Williams-Sonoma stores. I used to live and frequent the one on Montana in Santa Monica, and that one is so awesome! This one is just a store. I have never gotten particularly helpful service. There often seems to be an issue with wait to checkout. Considering how happy I am at all other Williams-Sonoma stores, this one just seems a bit sad. And here's an experience. My wife bought some towels there. The pack clearly states "Set of 4" and the price was on the back. When we got home we found it was a pack of 2. When I brought it back, the person at the counter said that she had changed the label to those towels but we were only charged for 2 towels. I asked how is that possible, when it clearly states "Set of 4" and the price on that set. Anyway I just got a refund. It wasn't the worst experience but was a waste of our time. read more

Williams Sonoma is a high end kitchen gadget and cookware store. They have a huge selection of higher end and specialty items. Kitchen tools, linens, glassware, plates, chef knives, electronics, prepared gourmet foods, oils, vinegar, cook books. This store is of medium size and one of only a couple left in the Southland. Staff here is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. One of the associates printed out a list of inventory at different stores for me with 2 minuntes before closing. I happen to be a sales only type of guy. WS usually has a pretty decent selection in the back of stuff on sale. Unfortunately, the sales prices are modest, not deeply discounted. There was one exception recently where the sales prices had been further marked down for clearance and prices were great. So four stars for clearance, 3 stars normally and 4 stars for range of selection. read more

I don't browse the store nearly as much as I used to - I remember a time when I'd be in this store almost every other day and both weekend days. That was when I was obsessed with learning to cook, when Food Network was just becoming popular and I had just returned from Paris shopping all of Julia Child's favorite cooking shops including E.Dehillerin in the 1e arrondissement where I purchased my 1st set of copper pots that I still use today. WilliamsSonoma was the local place I stocked up on every gadget and kitchen tool I thought I needed. If they sold it, I owned it. Today with the exception of a few choice gadgets and tools, I've become much more organized and methodical in my cooking process and don't necessarily like a lot of tools. These days I shop online for the WS items I can't live without: the classic striped kitchen towels, the pink grapefruit dish soap, Apilco platters and bowels and anything All Clad. My latest love is the Bordeaux butter dish. A find after months of searching to replace my Pottery Barn butter dish that's no longer available. I'm picky about of all things, butter dishes: they must be clear glass and be able to accommodate a whole block of Kerrygold. And if I nic or chip one, I have to replace it...so I purchased 5. DO NOT GET THE CREDIT CARD!! I was told that if you opened a credit card with Williams Sonoma, you would receive an ADDITIONAL 20% off your purchase as a reward. I opened the credit card with them, and when we proceeded to checkout, the sales associate did not apply the 20% off additional as advertised. Instead, she told me that we could not "Double Dip" because my items were already 20% off (At the time, the entire store was 20% off). Totally mislead, but all I could do was let it go. About a week after opening the credit card, I took a trip to Las Vegas. On the way, I stopped at the Primm outlets to look for a few goodies. While checking out, the sales associate offered me the same pitch for the credit card. I told her I already had one but the 20% off additional didn't apply to already discounted items. AND SHE TOLD ME THAT AT THEIR LOCATION, THE 20% DID APPLY!!!! I was so upset at this point because I was mislead at the Manhattan Beach location and could have gotten some really good deals at the outlet. So I decided to call customer service and inquire about this discrepancy with their credit card sign-ups. Customer service explained to me that it is up to every store how they choose to handle credit cards, returns, refunds, etc... And as far as me being mislead in Manhattan Beach, customer service apologizes. So there you have it folks, all Williams Sonoma stores have different policies! If you happen to go to Primm, or perhaps another outlet location, I recommend getting your credit card there. You can score some amazing deals! read more

This location has gone down hill!! The last two times I was in the store unfortunately I had Kristina help me . She is very rude, not helpful and seems to not really want to do her job or find products that I would like to purchase . An item that I wanted to purchase wasn't in stock in the store and she told me that she couldn't order it for me online . Strangely I was able to order on my phone and received the item . When leaving the location. I told her I was able to order the item on my phone , she told me she would be surprised if I even received it . She said she ordered product back in March from William Sonoma and never received it . Why would William Sonoma even want to hire someone like this .
