I've been in mourning ever since our store in Edmonton closed, so try to visit this one when I'm in Calgary (admittedly, not that much, the last 3 years!). I was hoping to get one of their festive liquid soap/lotion combos with rack, but was really surprised to see that in early September they had nothing Pumpkin Spice. Nooooo! I asked the very helpful sales lady, and she checked in back for me. I got the last set! w00t! I also picked up a couple gifts for bestie that I thought she would like, and the saleslady let me know that if I order online and pick up at their store, they get credit for the sale. Good to know! Placed an order online and it was cancelled with no phone call or e-mail to let me know, I only figured it out after tracking it. They still managed to send many marketing e-mails.. but no communication on my order. When I followed up with customer service, they were unhelpful or caring at all. Pull out of Canada nerds. 1st and last time I would shop with this retailer. read more

I ordered outdoor furniture and have been waiting for weeks. One of the items was delivered and was damaged, so I didn't take delivery. I spoke to a CS representative and it would be months for a replacement so i opted for a refund. I have been waiting almost 2 months as they state it needs to get back to their warehouse and checked in before they will issue, I'm not sure why, I never took delivery of the item. Regardless, they don't take back items one at a time so they all sit in another warehouse with shipper until the WS warehouse is ready for it. It's a bit ridiculous not to mention there furniture is not inexpensive. Be warned if ordering furniture it takes a long time , and the dates they show move constantly. If you have a problem with an item CS is not very helpful and I called several times and had to wait 30 minutes to talk to someone who isn't very helpful. read more

Williams Sonoma is to the kitchen as Pottery Barn is to the rest of the home. I have a love hate relationship with this store.... I love it because I love the stuff, I hate it because I cant afford much in here. This store has all the best in kitchen appliances, cookware, foods, gadgets and dishes.....basically everything. The store itself is always spotless and the displays that they make are clearly time consuming to create. Attention to detail here for sure. This to me is what it would be like to live in the world of Martha Stewart a pristine world where nothing but the best will do. ahhhh. The staff seems to consist of a combination of older women who are loving the products ( no doubt part time work) and younger and enthusiastic sonomites. I am always greeted when I come in, and i always enjoy looking around at the stuff. They have a large clearance style table at the back of the store that offer some deals. Having said that, thier regular prices are quite high so even when on sale things can be a tad expensive. If you are looking for a gift for the Epicurean in your family, this is the place to go. read more

I have been drooling over a food processor on the William Sonoma website for a few months now. I happened to be in Calgary (from Edmonton) so I decided to stop by and see if they had any in stock. Not only did they have that one in stock, but they also had a bigger, better one in stock!! I was sold. I decided to walk around the store and see if there was anything that was catching my eye. Everything in there is SO beautiful! The in store demonstrations also help convince me that I need all sorts of things, including a quick espresso maker....and I dont even drink coffee! I ended up doing a wedding registry here as there was just so much I was in love with! The sales staff was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. I ended up having to take my food processor back the next week (thank God I was in Calgary again!) as I got a lemon, and they were very quick to exchange it, no questions asked. I will be visiting this store every time I am in the city! Now I just need a bigger kitchen.... read more

I'm with Lindsay K. when she says that Williams-Sonoma is the master store for all your kitchen needs. It's AMAAAZING! Seriously, if I owned a mansion, ALL my kitchen stuff would come from here. I"d be better equipped than Martha Stewart herself! My absolute favourite time of the year to visit Williams-Sonoma is right about this time. Close to Christmas. You know why? They give out samples of their delicious festive treats! Right about this time of year, they brew their heavenly peppermint hot chocolate in-store and you can walk around the store with a cup full of it! Plus they also hand out peppermint sticks to sample. You gotta get there in time though because the samples run out in a heartbeat and once they're gone, they're GONE. Williams-Sonoma is designer kitchenware. It is insanely priced, but trust me, if I had the money, I'd be the first in line. read more

Anyone who watches the Food Channel should be required to take a visit down to Williams Sonoma. Every odd device and cooking utensil in the world is stocked here, high quality and made to last. Copper pots and pans hang from the walls, enticing and shiny and heart attack inducing (first time it's not food!) in their pricing. I myself do not cook (well), and so do not own many items from here. The rest of my family are burgeoning master chefs, and so I have used pots and pans and big, super sharp knives. This stuff is WORTH it guys. It's for professionals, and you can tell by the weight and sharpness and evenness of everything. Even a cooking dunce like me screws up less using things that are this good. And of course, because of said family, I spend a decent amount of time in this store scoping out gifts. TIP: I find that the gift giving works best when I give them tools to cook the things I want to eat. For example, a gnocchi press, or a cookie scoop. It's win - win. They have pretty much every type of cooking tool here, as well as equipment for things like Espresso machines and juicers. They have ice cream makers, pots, pans, knives, slow cookers, etc. Their electrical appliances are limited to things like mixers, as there are other places to go for heavy duty appliances. If you can imagine it, and even if you can't and it is related to cooking and/or baking, Williams Sonoma probably stocks an expensive, high quality version of it. read more

This store is to cooks what a candy store is too an eight year old. William Sonoma carries almost every cooking tool you could want or discover you want in one place. Yes it is expensive but only if you aren't comparing price to quality. There is a difference between a three dollar BBQ sauce brush with bristles that fall off and a twelve dollar silicone brush that washes 100% clean and doesn't fall apart. Higher quality cooking utensils and pots and pans make higher quality food. I love this store and visit it whenever I can. I get gifts from here for Xmas and my birthday and try to buy items for myself when I can. Everyone whether they cook like a pro like me or they make barely edible like many people I know need to have a good knife. Have a look in William Sonoma for examples. A good knife will cost you some money but it will last you forever and be much safer to use. One of my favorite parts of William Sonoma is the selection of sea salts and the balsamic vinegars. The truffle salt is my favorite although this years fennel salt is pretty amazing. They also have a huge selection of very fresh and mouthwatering spices on their new spice rack. Oh and if you bake you must purchase some silicone cupcake holders, they bake cupcakes and muffins to perfection. It doesn't cost anything to have a look around so stop by and look around sometime. read more

Williams-Sonoma is the master store for all your kitchen needs! I love everything this store has and wish I had all the money in the world to purchase it. Sadly, most of their products are on the pricey side, and they are a little out of my budget. Whenever Christmas or my birthday comes around I always add items from the Williams-Sonoma catalog to my list, and pray that I get it. There are so many nice dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, bowls, bakeware, cookware, glassware, all the wares... and more. I could go on and on about all the different things they have, but it wouldn't do the store justice. If you love cooking, and all the nice things that come along with it, you will absolutely die in this place! It's like a cooking wonderland! One day my house will be filled with only Williams-Sonoma items. For now, I just spend my time perusing the store, admiring all the wonderful things they have. My go to place for All Clad pans (I think I have 11 or 12) and for Staub cast iron ware. Stop by regularly so you can catch the deals. For other stuff I shop elsewhere. Knives are the most important kitchen tool and they just do not sell any great knives. Tools and gadgets are overpriced. Many of the most useful tools that a professional kitchen would have are simply not carried. read more

I browsed this store twice today, researching prices and brands of various blenders, mixers etc.. The second time a very pushy, know-it-all, sales man persistently tormented me about why he believed I should purchase a Vitamix blender despite that I had told him that was not what I was interested in. It was to the point where I felt uncomfortable and left. It was absurd. Their prices are terrible. I strongly suggest comparison shopping before considering a purchase here. Some of there prices are double (possibly hundreds more) what you could pay for the same brand otherwise. Amazon.ca is selling a mixer I looked at for $250.00 and it was over $500.00 at Williams Sonoma. read more

I love this store - not just what they sell, but the staff are probably the most helpful of any store I frequent. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. They probably have a nickname for me - "The All-Clad Guy" - because I buy my pots one by one - replacing all the old pots in my kitchen. They recognize me when I come in, they give me their suggestions if I'm undecided, they tell me about promotions and always do their best to have me walk out of that store smiling. read more
