Own a lawn care company. Am writing my first negative review in my life here. Tried out Ab forest and Garden for the first time. I have 2 walker mowers, an Exmark, commercial accounts, and about 150 clients throughout the year. Had an absolutely terrible experience with buying a piece of equipment that didn't work at all. Used it for 20 mins, brought it back. Said it would be a about a $100 fee on the phone for restocking and taking the piece off my machine. I get there and they tell me it will be close to $500, which is what the equipment costed in the first place. I'm out $500 for walking in there, with nothing to show. They wouldn't even knock $100 off the cost for me to help a fella out. They'll sell you anything (including junk) just don't expect them to know much about the products they are actually selling you. Go to Dr. Mower for great service in Cochrane, or Equipment Express in Cochrane (they price match) and also give great service. Both are awesome and will be retaining all my business from here on in. Definitely worth the trip. Wish I never walked into this place (Ab F & G) Don't learn the hard way like I did. read more

I've bought a lot of stuff from this company over the years because they do sell some quality stuff. I've bought two water pumps during the flooding (honda & subaru, a lawn mover (husquvarna) 2 chainsaws (Stihl), mower parts for our ride on mower, hedge clippers and trimmers, gas, gloves, and a Stihl gas trimmer. I think my biggest complaint is, that both my gas trimmer and chainsaws have had to be replaced after 1 or 2 years of usage, both are Stihl product. My father had a Stihl chainsaw that lasted for 20 years, beautiful piece of machinery. Sadly Stihl products now are TOTAL CRAP!!! DO NOT BUY STIHL. I probably won't buy from this Alberta Home & garden again, only because they sell inferior Stihl products and won't back the customer when these products fail after two years. Technology has come so far these days, so why is it that my dad's Stihl lasted 20 years and the new ones last 2 years? The staff at Forest & Garden claim its the way the carbeurators are designed, and I believe em, but if your selling shitty products, then you should at least service them for free. Don't buy from this company, because they won't back up their products and always have an excuse such as - oh you didn't put the right gas in, or you didn't run it dry, or you didn't do this or that. I tend to disagree, don't sell products that are so fickle, outdoor products should be robust. read more
