Had to cancel an important family thing to wait for delivery of washer/dryer- can't provide times, so just wait. Then they come and refuse to hook them up because it may need extensions on the hose from washer. They offered to send a more qualified technician if I pay and wait another week. I should have done this month ago. My parents who are both over 80 were looking for a dishwasher. They were sold one that was severely scratched ( my mother put stickers to cover it) and one that has Wi-Fi?? Why would someone sell that to an old couple that clearly cannot use internet??? They were told that was regular over 1100 new and the discount was amazing . I looked it up and it was only $100.00 less. The scratches and dents on this dishwasher looks like it was dragged. Unbelievable how they took advantage of an old couple. I was furious and should have never let them go on their own. Clearly you wanted to get rid of that dishwasher fast and you found your victims . I was in the market for a washing machine and was looking for value. I went to the Barlow location as it was close and could not locate a suitable machine. The staff member, Katarina, was helpful and contacted another location. I went there and found what I was looking for. Ali sold me a machine and extra warranty as well as helped me load the truck. The issue started when i went to start the machine at home. The washer would not work and displayed an error code. I called and spoke with a manager who advised that I could bring it back and either exchange or get a refund. I also advised her that there was a price sticker inside the door, which I completely missed, for a sale price of 150 less than what I paid. I was told that the price tag was the default value in their system. I was told to call the manufacturer and request service. So when I did that the manufacturer told me that my new out of the box washer had been previously registered. The machine by no means was a scratch and dent and likely was refurbished. I am now waiting for a repair technician....let's see what happens. My only advice is to make sure you understand the challenges you can face by going to a place who does a lot of advertising for their value of product. If my time was worth money this experience has cost me hundreds in time lost making phine calls and waiting for service. read more

I was looking to replace a spring for a dishwasher door. The folks at Bowest always returned my calls promptly and offered good advice. It was an old dishwasher so I just ordered a used spring. I went to pick it up and the rep said it's an inexpensive part so they didn't even charge me for it! When's the last time something like this happened to you? Full disclosure: I purchased nothing here. Because the customer service was terrible. Whomever was working there today (October 20, 2015) needs to learn how to talk to customers. When I walked in I was greeted and asked what they could help me with (a good start). I said "Washers & Dryers". I was asked if I was looking for new or used, and I said it didn't matter. Then the employee said, "Well, we don't have any used right now. Except the Kenmore, the white one." Well, most of their appliances are white so finding that one was a bit of a challenge. She didn't exactly make an effort to point out the exact one. ***Overall I found her very condescending.*** AND she was looking at her phone most of the time. Completely inappropriate and rude. I said, "Thank you" in a manner that I thought indicated I'd like a few minutes *by myself* to look at prices and models, and she didn't leave. I looked at the washers and dryers for about another 30 seconds and then she said, "So you don't want the Kenmore?" What?? I'd been in the store about 5 minutes. Not everyone makes snap decisions when it comes to forking over several hundred dollars. I will not be going back, and I won't be recommending this place either. read more

I had a great experience with the Barlow Trail store today. April assisted me over the phone regarding a stove part before coming down. When I showed up about an hour later, she and at least one other staff were right there, ready to assist me. Within 5 minutes I had what I had come down for. Thanks to Amanda and the very kind people at Bow West Appliances, I am now able to wash clothes again. Not only did I lose my only child on May 18, but my washing machine also died this past Saturday. They very kindly came to my rescue when I so very dearly needed assistance. They had exactly what I needed, delivering it for me today, and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of me in my time of need. "TOO BUSY TO ACTUALLY CARE OR CARRY THROUGH -- NOT SURE?" I decided to try Bowwest Appliances (stupidly before black Friday), drove to Bow Trail location where I met a fabulous sales manager named Casey -- talk about service! Smart, to the point, organized and efficient -- I left feeling like my new washer and dryer quest was at an end. But, it was the BEGINNING OF A MIGRAINE HEADACHE. If Casey knew how bad her delivery company was I think she'd probably quit (SIGH). Make sure YOU ASK THEM WHO IS DELIVERING THE APPLIANCES. If it's Taylor from 'Big V and V Holdings' your in for a 'V'ERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE AND YOU MAY NOT EVEN GET YOUR APPLIANCES DELIVERED OR INSTALLED. The delivery company was on time, brought the appliances to the second floor and then said that because the laundry room wasn't completely cleaned out and a couch was blocking the hallway by a few inches he couldn't take out the old appliances and install the new ones. It took my tenant 4 minutes to clean out the laundry room, but by then Taylor was loaded back into his truck and leaving ***WHEN I CALLED HIM HE SAID (the kiss of death in sales btw) "IM TOO BUSY TO DO THIS INSTALL, WE HAVE TOO MANY ORDERS TO COMPLETE TODAY" -- he never offered to come back later, and rightly so got into a heated argument with my tenant. I would have argued as well to be fair. I NEVER DID GET THE WASHER AND DRYER AND 'HELPED' BOWWEST BY CANCELLING MY BUSINESS. Wouldn't want them to get too busy in a recession. read more

The store had limited customers because of this whole Covid thing so could have improved the service level but everyone who worked there was very friendly. Ashley was great - very helpful and only showed us what we were looking for and no pressure to purchase like most sales centers. If you are looking for a deal on appliances, this is the place to go! It took me a little research on Bowest to find out if they were legit and where they received their stock from, but once I found out and after several friends and family purchases over the last couple of years, I am a return customer. Bowest took over the Sears Outlet contract when they left town, meaning they receive all damaged and not working appliances from Sears; this translates to truck loads weekly. Some items are truly damaged, while other items (like my fridge) has a slight scratch down the side, which you cannot see because it is covered, or my dishwasher which has a slight scuff at the bottom. For these slight, surface imperfections, you can pick up appliances at half the retail value. All appliances come with a one year warranty, delivery, and take-away of old appliances. If you pay cash, you get a much better price! Not only do you receive a great price, their service is deluxe. I recently had a problem with my LG fridge, after a couple of attempts to fix the problem and under some time constraints on my part, Bowest simply gave me a newer model of the fridge to replace this one. That is service! Now, they have three locations, but save yourself the time and go to the main warehouse on Deerfoot by the casino. If you go to the other locations, you won't be able to see as much stock, as well, these shops aren't as nice to look at/walk through (I admit they turned me off at first until I spoke with someone). If you are skeptical, go check it out, I promise you that you won't be let down! I have purchased a top of the line fridge and dishwasher, my mom a fridge and stove, and 2 sets of friends have picked up entire kitchens and washer/dryers. read more

I have gotten some amazing deals here. I was promised that the door would be switched on the fridge upon delivery and the delivery guy refused to do it. They forgot the order on my fridge so after I called them they corrected that. I would not fully trust their customer service but otherwise you may get a great deal. read more

I wanted to purchase a new dishwasher pump, but she noticed I had a blue elastic wrapped around the pump and removed what she could but also tested the pump. This company is a horrible company. With horrible customer service. We had gone a deep freeze from them and it had broke down. We called in to have someone come out to look at it. We were still on warrantee. However the lady we had spoke with said our warrantee run out the day before. They sent someone out to look at it however when the man come out he told me there was a Freon leak that had been going on for month. This company says that the refurbish appliances. Which makes me think that they had missed something and then they tried telling me it was something. I had done. The next day the lady called me back and said I owed $100 for the guy coming out. I said I would not be paying as on our paper work it was still under warrantee until the first. She then called me back after getting mad at me and told me it would be cover and they would give me $35 off if I bring in the old one. However I had to pay a new one the day it went down as I almost lost $1000 Worth of meat. This company doesn't care about their customers and I would never recommend this company to anyone read more
