What the hell is wrong with Ikea? Has anybody tried calling the one 866 number in the last week? I've been calling repeatedly and haven't been able to get through it's just put you on hold with the worst on hold music ever. Finally after waiting for 45 minutes today somebody finally answered this was how the conversation went....... "hello?" That's how he answered. So I said "hello is this Ikea?" He answered "ummmmmmmmmmm...... " Literally doesn't know the name of the company that he works for. I asked "is this Ikea????? I'm trying to Ask a simple question about delivery for these two solar powered lights" This should've been a 30 second transaction. He did not respond at all. I kept saying hello hello? Finally after about four minutes of dead air he said in very very very slow stunted slurred speech "hi... Do... Not... Think... I can take down your address for that location....." I literally was about to ask him if he's having a stroke that's how bad his voice sounded. I didn't want to sound rude but I'm literally worried the guy is having a stroke right now. I said very loudly and clearly "is this Ikea? " Again another three or four minute delay and then he said "hi... I Do not think... You have the right phone number"....... I triple checked my number. I called this one 866 number the only number listed on their website worldwide. I think they should check on the health of their staff answering the phones and after a week of not being able to get through I have a bad feeling that they literally employ only one person to answer their phones worldwide. What the hell Ikea -you're a multibillion dollar company -get your shit together please. I'm trying to spend money at your store and you're making it impossible.

Its cool to come here. Nice to walk around and check out the showroom. Things are cheaply priced. Quality really depends on what you get. I find that quality is a bit lacking here but for the price ok. Food is cheap here. soup and garlic bread for less than $4 and hot dogs less than $1. Also join the membership program for points and for discounts. Its free to join. This is the only IKEA in Calgary right now

When you go to IKEA on a Saturday morning there is a tangible excitement just before they open, kinda like Disneyland before the rope drop ceremony, People parade in the front doors seeking all things swedish and IKEA rarely disappoints. This IKEA is great, with plenty of parking and is essentially the flagship store for the Deerfoot meadows complex. IKEA is kind of like Saturday Night Live, sometimes they hit, sometimes they miss... there have been some amazing ideas like Expedit shelving to some real bombs like the artificial plants... IKEA is a great place to find stylish things that wont break the bank. The 2 dollar breakfast in the restaurant is a steal and the switch to purely reusable bags is great. I love IKEA , thier products currently grace my living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Be sure to check out thier Wacky Wednesday sales... amazing values. LOVE IT.

IKEA! Who doesn't love Ikea?! I'll tell you who. People who don't like giant warehouses stocked with cool stuff or nice things for good prices. Pretty much every time I go into Ikea I leave with way more stuff than necessary. There are so many cool and strange items... and I want them all. Seriously, some of the things there are so interesting I don't even know what they're for, but I know I want it! They really do have something for every single room in the house. They've got different sections for the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, den, kids room, office, outdoor... even a section for storage and organizing! I love it! The layout of Ikea is a interesting as the things inside. It's a giant maze all through the place. If you missed a section, they've got signs pointing you in the direction of a shortcut. Or, if you're overwhelmed by all the awesomeness and need to get out, they've got hidden exit too! It' perfect! On the other hand, I can see how people wouldn't like this place if they don't like walking around for hours trying to maneuver their way through all the people and carts. Ikea has become such a craze that it's always busy, from open to close, everyday of the week. Another thing that people might not like is the do-it-yourself assembly each item come with. Unless assembled when you leave the store, you're going to be sitting on your living room floor with an Allen key in hand putting stuff together for the rest of the night. Honestly, that's my favourite part about Ikea. I love being able to set things up myself. It make me feel accomplished and satisfied with my purchase. Two words can sum up my experiences at Ikea... HOLY SH*T! It's probably the best home decorating/furniture store ever. But, anyone who's been there and doesn't despise shopping knows that. It goes without saying.

Avoid! Literally go anywhere else. Ashley furniture is corrupt and a scam…read more The incompetent staff member, Gemma from the NE location "measured" a clearance ottoman and said it would fit perfect. Gemma, the hollow-minded employee helped me and my partner build a modular sectional. She had our measurements and said this oversized ottoman will fit perfectly and said when it's pushed up against the couch it will be a giant bed. She pushed us to buy it and said it will fit, it will be perfect. When we looked at other options, she kept pushing the clearance ottoman. That should have been a red flag that she is conning us. Looking at the photos, does that giant ottoman fit and is flush like a giant bed? Absolutely not. We had it delivered on Nov.1 and I called immediately and told the delivery team to take it away and they refused and said to call the store. I have called nearly every day to try and solve this, and they refuse to return it, refuse to call me back, and refuse to credit me to find an ottoman that is small and will fit. I also made the grave mistake of ordered a sofa and love seat. The love seat came damaged. See the photos. They will not be providing me with a new couch but instead proceed with janky patchwork. I called November 1 right when the damaged furniture was unpacked by their delivery team. I followed the steps via text to address the damaged couch and they kept insisting I provide a serial number. Well, this couch doesn't have a serial number. After going back and forth explaining there is no serial number on the couch nor its cushions, I asked them if they want me to make up a serial number. After that, they ordered the patch (10 days since I submitted the claim) and insist it will be delivered. Once it's delivered I will have to be home from work to be here for when they "fix" the couch. So not only do I have a $300 ottoman that doesn't fit because Gemma doesn't know how to use a measuring tape or know how to do her job competently, I will have to be home from work for the semestres to patch up the damage that the delivery crew made. They did assure me that my brand new furniture, after the patchwork, will look like showroom condition. This comment restored my faith, knowing that my new furniture will look like the garbage in their showrooms that have thousands of asses distorting the cushions. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FURNITURE HERE!!! They are scamming honest customers. I should have listened to the reviews, friends and family that warned to avoid any purchases.
