Veggie Club Sandwich

Delicious fresh veggie club sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy with really nice soft, rich bread. Strawberry pecan salad was also very fresh & tasty. I will be coming back again! The menu has quite a nice variety. Great service and reasonable prices.

Turkey & Swiss

The rain and cold helped locate a place with a sandwich and soup. This place hit the spot. Lunch was good! Turkey n swiss on rosemary focaccia bread was delicious. They added just the right amount of mayo with lettuce and tomato. I got the meal with sweet pot fries, this even came with a little side of a cinnamon spread. I didn't wait long and everything was good.

Bacon Lovers Burger

Today I ordered to go for the first time- and their drive up window is extremely convenient. I ordered the Bacon lovers burger and was happy enough with the burger but disappointed that lettuce, tomato, onion, and other condiments cost extra for an already $9 burger. I also got a strawberry salad with a scoop of chicken salad for my dinner. The chicken salad was a generous portion and the salad was fresh and delicious. I'm giving them 4 because of the up charge on extras that even McDonalds puts on their burgers-- but not lower because inside the atmosphere is always pleasant and clean.

Croissant meal with hash browns

I ate here on a Monday morning for breakfast. - There was no wait when I walked in. - This place is super cheap. My croissant sandwich with a drink and hash browns was $8! - My breakfast was excellent.

Food service and amibiance was nice. The dining area was very clean. I'm looking forward to my next visit here.

I really enjoyed my lunch at William's and look forward to returning to try more items. I had the chipotle chicken panini, and the chicken had a nice chargrilled flavor and the fries were really tasty. My husband enjoyed his club sandwich as well. The portions are large, such that I easily could have split a sandwich with my husband. I also appreciate that they serve Cheerwine. The only negatives was that it took a long time for our order to be prepared, and while I noticed the employees being friendly to some of the customers, they weren't particularly warm to us. They had a couple of people working in the kitchen, which is visible from the dining room, and a couple of other employees behind the counter but none of them seemed to be moving with any sort of speed. So, a good place for a casual, not-so-quick bite!

CALL YOUR ORDER IN!! 5stars for the food is amazing. 4stars overall because the time it takes to receive the food is always slow. The foods amazing but again the time it takes to prepare the food stinks. I only get 30 minutes for lunch. On average I wait 12 minutes for my food. That's not good when I only have 30 minutes. With the amount of cooks back there cooking it shouldn't take that long. Again the food is so good just slow cooking times. Call your order in if you can. That will take this issue from the equation.

Western Omelet at William’s Gourmet Kitchen, Durham NC

Breakfast here on a weekday morning. Order and pay at the counter, gather your beverages (and silverware!) and they bring it to your chosen table when it's ready. How very European! I went with the Western Omelet and it was a very big portion with tons of sausage and bacon. I ate less than half of this monster. For side, I chose the hash brown rounds, which are a similar concept to the ones at Burger King. Not that there's anything wrong with this, just be prepared for what you're getting. A huge meal, a very good price and a nice little restaurant. I'm a fan!

Yum!

Came in for lunch today with some coworkers. It was a slower process than usual getting our orders taken, but overall things were good. I love the honey stung chicken and opted for that today. I must say I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese that I ordered as a side. My colleague stated it had some spruce to it, and I would have to agree. It definitely was not your traditional Mac and cheese which I found disappointing and will not be ordering that again.

Thursday night, with no expectations, we were immediately delighted by the welcome at the door, the great music and decor, and the menu as explained by our wonderful server, Drew. We shared 3 smaller plates that were set atop the most delicious sauces: Pickled shrimp with fried green tomatoes and fresh beans (good start); Crispy grits cake with chanterelle mushrooms (delicious); and Pillowy ricotta gnocchi bolognese (transported us to northern Italy). Now for mains. Drew recommended two items and we got both: Grilled wahoo with squash, okra and an unctuous sauce that made this deal like a meat dish instead of Jamaican-style fish; and Wood grilled local pork, sliced off the bone and atop another amazing sauce, with crispy onion rings. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine with the meal ( the approachable wine list is filled with options - from reasonable to "special occasion only" prices); again our server Drew recommended just the right one. We were going to skip dessert but glad we didn't after seeing every table have a warm chocolate soufflé cake with brickle ice cream plunked into the middle and chocolate sauce drizzled across it. So glad we ended the meal this way, with a glass of port. We cannot wait for an excuse to enjoy another treat meal like this in Durham. Put Nana's at the top of your list.

I am a fan and will keep them in mind for future visits. The Deets: I scoped out lunch possibilities on Yelp then found Page Road Grill not too far away and decided to visit since I've never tried it. Located near the Sheraton Imperial/I-40/Imperial Center area off Page Road in Durham, it's a short drive away for me. I was seated immediately in a booth upon arrival with no wait. The decor and appearance are nice, lending itself to either a casual (business casual more like) meal or a nice date night meal destination. My server was good to ask if I had any questions and got my drink order taken care of quickly while I read over the lunch menu selections. The soup that day was a bit on the spicy side and I appreciated my server letting me know so I decided on skipping, going on to order the Steak Frites. This meal choice did not take long and was well prepared (ordering it medium rare and getting exactly that). I do appreciate the overabundance of frites but would have been nice to have a bit of plate real estate for steak cutting, it worked out though when placing the ketchup and garlic aioli off the plate for space (both of those were very nice for dipping, I liked having both to mix it up). This NY Strip was good and flavorful, I enjoyed it as well as their frites (again, very plentiful serving of frites!). I felt the need for dessert so I went with their special of Limoncello Icebox Cake with coffee ordered to accompany it. The cake was delicious and it was a HUGE slab of it to enjoy! Service was good here for the most part as well. I am glad I decided to give Page Road Grill a try for lunch and will keep them on my radar for future visits.

Since it was a Monday night I was not expecting the restaurant to be busy and it wasn't. Plenty of open parking, no wait at all, and quick to be served. I ordered the smoked brisket which came on top of burnt end hash, collard greens, and topped with a bbq sauce/gravy. The brisket was so tender and a really thick cut. I typically like leaner cuts of meat and the meat was perfect, not too much fat. The sauce also complimented really nicely. The burnt end hash was also really good. The potatoes were tender and soaked up some of the juices from the greens and sauce. The greens were cooked perfectly. Not too soft and still had some crunch to them. They had a lot of flavor and had a touch of sweetness. I would get a bowl of them to eat on its own for sure. My coworker got the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans which she said was really good. Her plate was vibrant in color from the vegetables and the pork chop looked well prepared. For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding with strawberry ice cream. The bread budding came out warm which was perfect to go with the ice cream which tasted homemade. I'm a sucker for anything strawberry though. The bread pudding had slices of banana throughout and held together well when eaten with the ice cream. Service throughout the evening was good. We were checked on and brought refills without having to flag down the waiter. Overall it was a great experience. I know I'll be back to RDU at some point so I'll be sure to come back.

I asked the cashier at the front about it and she told me that there are lids under the drink station. I guess she was too busy to get them for me and tried to make me do it? I couldn't find them so I gave up. She did eventually come out and replace the lids though but never told me that she did it. They also ran out of broccoli and had to drop some more but never told us how long it was going to take. So I was waiting for 5-10 minutes for my girlfriend's food to be ready as my food got cold. Wouldn't have been as bad but they never told us how long the wait would be and we were both getting hungry. There were also a good amount of flies in the restaurant. We tried to sit outside but there were a lot of flies there too. Instead we walked to the brewery where the flies seemed to leave us alone. My food was seasoned well enough and had a good flavor but it didn't really taste that fresh. Not sure if it was from the wait but I'm sure it didn't help. It seemed like the ingredients may have been sitting out a while. I don't think I'll be back which is unfortunate because I was excited to find a healthier fast food restaurant.

The space is charming inside and out; the shaded patio has a nice vibe, though foot traffic to the entrance passes by those tables. Ordering is walk-up, and food is delivered to the table. Menu is broad with clear gluten-free indicators (huge plus). Coffee was dark and delicious, and service throughout was genuinely warm, knowledgeable, and fast -- easily 5 stars for hospitality. Getting to-go boxes was effortless and we were offered refills often. Food was a mixed bag. My wife had the gluten-free smoked salmon toast with avocado. She wished the veggies and tomato were grilled; the GF bread itself was very good, but the greens/tomato ended up pushed aside. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. The salmon portion felt light, and the hollandaise leaned more toward mustard than citrus and was a bit thin. Breakfast potatoes and veggies were nicely cut and well-seasoned but undercooked; same for the bacon, which tasted more tough than crisp. (I reheated the potatoes/veg at home -- flavor was there once cooked through.) Prices felt reasonable, ingredients seemed thoughtfully sourced, and the team's earnestness shines. With a little tighter execution (fully cooked potatoes/veg, crisper bacon, brighter/thicker hollandaise, slightly more salmon, grilled tomatoes), this would be an easy 5. I'll definitely be back -- I gave it a 3.7 but rounded it up to 4 stars for the service, coffee, and GF-friendly menu options.

Helpful service in a nicely decorated small cafe, a nice stop for getting a morning going. The Deets: Deciding to venture out a bit to try some place new, I found Morning Ritual on the trusty Yelp app and headed off to there. It is joined along side The Goat restaurant on the edge of an apartment complex campus near Brier Creek. I like the look of the building and while noticing there is outside seating available, there is a convenient take out window on the side as well. I went inside and liked the warm, inviting but still slightly modern look of the cafe style seating and ordering area. There are a couple of seats within range of a power outlet and there is WiFi but note it is public/no password/unsecured access, it appears. Their menu shows a good array of beverages and eats to satisfy those morning needs. I decided on a 16 oz hot skim latte to drink to enjoy there and then ordered the Egg + Cheese Scramble which has Monterey Jack and Cheddar and served with one of their biscuits. You order and pay at the register/counter then they give you a table number to take to your seat. My beverage came in well enough time to enjoy while I waited on my food order. My latte was so good that I had no need for additions such as sweetener or syrups and I like the mug with it to enjoy in house. Food came in good time as well, looking pretty tempting. The toasted biscuit was good and I liked it but a tad small bit sweet for a Southern type biscuit (the type that I'm used to/grown up with enjoying). The scramble was really great...I usually do not favor getting cheese in my scrambled eggs but everything was delicious here and perfect texture as well as portion on the eggs themselves in a small cafe setting. There's always that challenge in a new coffee shop/cafe in figuring out their used dishes protocol/station but loved that my server saw me searching and happily took my dishes at the counter for me. When the girl came from morning ritual She brought out my husbands, hot cappuccino but my mocha out iced and I immediately said I don't drink cold coffee and I did an order iced. Instead of being apologetic, and stating that she would change it, she just snatched the iced coffee and walked away. That was such a strange encounter. It was rude and I got no apology, nor did I get any explanation of what would happen next. I let my server know to ensure I was still going to get a coffee because I can't live without my coffee in the morning! When my Moca loved her honey, oat milk, coffee came I took a sip and was glad i didn't flip out and say "forget the coffee" (as I was already done with breakfast by the time in arrived) because the drink was delicious! If I'm ever back in the area (I was staying in Raleigh but decided to take a little detour into Durham that morning) I'll come to only Morning Ritual to see if I can change this 3 star review for service issues into a 5.
