I brought my ten-year-old Rolex in for the required service and Barthman's did an outstanding job. My watch now looks exactly as it did when it was purchased as a new watch. It always kept perfect time until about the last year or so. But now it keeps perfect time again. Hard time buying a new Rolex from William Barthman. They will not let anything go because they are selling out of the back door to the gray dealers as all AD's are. As any other prospective Rolex customer may already know, certain models are (currently) extremely difficult to find at retail locations for MSRP. I called this William Barthman location about the specific watch I wanted and Steven was kind enough to keep me in mind. The staff here was extremely rude. I had saw a watch at the Manhattan location and came here because the other location was doing renovations and closed. Upon entering the store, I was immediately approached by an elderly lady with a thick Russian accent who asked, "How can I help you?" I told her that I was interested in looking at the Rolex watches. After pointing out the one I was interested in, she immediately told me, "That one, no discount." I was taken aback, even before asking for the price she had blurted that out. I had taken a look at the exact same watch at the manhattan location and was offered a discount on it. So I told her that. She gave me the nastiest look and said "IMPOSSIBLE! THAT ONE HAS NO DISCOUNT. WHO TOLD YOU THAT?!" I replied that it was an Asian lady at the manhattan location. "NO I CALL MY BOSS OVER. YOU SPEAK TO HIM. HE OWNS BOTH STORES." She then screamed at the top of her lungs, calling a younger dark haired guy over. Without any greeting, introductions or anything he asked me what was the problem. I explained to him the situation. After doing so, he acted the same way as the older lady, saying " IMPOSSIBLE. WE DO NOT GIVE A DISCOUNT ON THIS WATCH! WHO TOLD YOU?! HOW MUCH OF A DISCOUNT?" In the end, I said okay, I'll just go back to the other location then. I left the store with the guy saying behind my back "Okay, go back to the other store. But I guarantee you, theres NO DISCOUNT." The service here is absolutely terrible. Even if there wasn't a discount on the watch, they should have offered to show me different watches similar to that or kindly handled the situation. I was in no way being rude, but they lashed out at me like I had committed some sort of crime and questioned me like a criminal. For a boss, the guy seemed extremely rude and didn't look like he wanted to do business at all. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. After further research I have found out that the store is no longer owned by William Barthman but has been sold to Jerry Natkin and his son, Steven. Steven was the one who proudly announced he owned both stores and provided me with the rude service. For those of you who have may have previously had a pleasant experience here, know that the owner has changed and so has their service. read more

I brought two watches to William Barthman to be repaired. One of them was a Tag Heuer, the other a 50 year old Longine. I chose this Jeweler because they were an authorized Tag Heuer repair facility. They did repair the Tag Heuer but wanted $450 is to repair the Longine which I declined. Just for kicks, brought it to a local jeweler just to be sure. He charged me $95. The repair did take about a month. It seems William Barthman Jewelers did not want to take the time or make the effort to find the replacement part. I bought my first watch last year from William Barthman. It was a great experience. I got a designer watch and an amazing price. The staff is really nice too....I dont like a lot of these jewlery shops as many of the people that work in them make me feel very uncomfortable. At WB it's NOT like this at all.
