Do not go here. I had to wait 3 months for my first appointment/consultation and cleaning. The big day finally arrives and I was there for three hours! I needed 2 cavities filled so I had to make another appointment for that. 4 months later??! Needless to say I missed the appointment (forgot) and received no call from Willamette Dental to remind me of it. I know it is my fault for missing the appointment and take responsibility for it. However when I called to pay the missed appointment fee and asked the receptionist if they called patients prior to an upcoming visit after 4 months of waiting to get in she responded with; "Most of our patients are responsible enough to remember their appointments, but for patients like you we do call 24 hours ahead of the visit." What? She continued to tell me that I should save appointments in my phone like most people then I would not miss appointments. That was enough for me. This place is incredibly sleazy and unprofessional; I ended up leaving the office before my appointment due to it. I left due to a HUGE lack of communication between their appointment system and office (I had scheduled a consultation with an oral surgeon but arrived with a dental visit scheduled and the oral surgeon on vacation). When I explained that I had a dentist I liked elsewhere, they refused to honor her referral and attempted to schedule me for multiple visits with their own providers after suggesting I "dump" her. It has been several years, but I am still traumatized by my horrific experience at Willamette dental group. I was an employee at a non profit, so we didn't have the best health care. While getting a wisdom tooth removed, the "doctor", who did not give me enough anesthetic, broke the tooth next to it! He was so mean and yelled at me when I screamed in pain. I'm posting a negative review because I was misinformed about what was going to happen during my appointment and then charged out of pocket for it 2 months later. I made a 6 month follow up cleaning appointment with Willamette Dental. I wasn't a fan of the place after my first visit. It's very much like a factory. But my teeth are healthy, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to go back to the same place that have my most recent x-rays. Although I specified that I wanted a cleaning. Not the person who made the appointment for me, nor the receptionist at the Eugene location mentioned there wasn't actually going to be a cleaning. I didn't find out until after the dentist checked my teeth briefly that Willamette Dental doesn't allow for 6 month cleanings even though my insurance would cover it. Instead, said they would give me another fluoride treatment. I found out two months later that fluoride treatments aren't typically covered by insurance over six months. Never in my life has something so strange and shady happened for me at a dentist office. This place is like the Comcast of dentists. read more

I got a root canal here last week because that was the only place covered by my insurance. The dentist was the root canal specialist so despite the previous bad reviews I wasn't too nervous. I should have listened it was one of the worst experiences of my life I was nervous because he kept saying you might feel this so half way through he stopped and instead of trying to make me feel more at ease he told me I was making him uncomfortable because I had irregular breathing and if I didn't relax he refused to finish and would send me to Portland who would cost me more. I just wanted to cry after that he kept making arrogant remarks like I was waisting his time. 2 days later my mouth swelled up and my tooth got infected luckily I went to the springfield office and they got me on antibiotics right away. Oh and the eugene staff are lazy with no customer service. It being the holidays someone brought in a cookie tray while I was waiting to check out and they ignored me for at least 5 minutes until they all made sure they had gotten their treats grr read more

Horrible. Worst dentist ever. Stuck up and snooty. Dr. SWEET is the worst dentist in the build. Avoid like the plague! She will argue with you and against your needs. She doesnt listen and has her own agenda. All she wants to do is argue with a fake voice and treat you like a child in kindergarten. Its my mouth and my health and i know whats best for me. I left crying without my tooth fixed. I needed and wanted it pulled considering 2 things.....the broken tooth is by itself in the back, my insudoesnt cover a flipper tooth to fill the gap where im already missing the molar beside it. Second, i have severe sleep apnea and since the other molar was removed leaving this one by itself, i wake up to a chewed tongue because of that solo molar all the time. I just wanted it pulled. My insurance covers that, so why argue with someone who has valid reasons why they want it pulled instead of filled. Oh and by the way this molar is more filling than tooth anyhow. It has broke 3 times in my life already. I just wanted it pulled. No 9am arguments. No rearranging my kids getting to school so i can come argue. So i left and im now going home to break it beyond repair all because Dr. Sweet cant see that i have valid reasons for wanting it pulled and zero tolerance for her arguing with me. Ill be back to see a different dentist tomorrow with a very broken tooth. Im totally pissed! read more

Had a surprisingly great visit at this dentist office. In my own mind I've always anticipated the level of care from this dental office to be on the lower end of the scale because of the high number of medicaid clients that go here. They were a very professional team using the latest diagnostic equipment, equipment my old and expensive dentist did not have. I won't be going any other place. read more

I took my 7 year old into the Springfield office and the dentist i don't think has ever worked with children before! He was rough and they made him cry. He is a pretty tough little boy but they did not have the bedside manner for a child. He had to use the needle for the Novocaine and the nurse that was assisting was VERY mean! He put his leg up because they were filling 3 little cavities and it hurt him, he could still feel it. The nurse yelled at him like she was a 7 year old! She didn't try to comfort him at all, instead she yelled "Put your leg down! You almost hit me in the face!!" I really wish he would have kicked her in the face! I did go over to the Eugene clinic and they were much nicer, he hasn't seen the dentist at this location, but i don't think it could be much worse! He is very scared to go back now, and i have to reassure him that every dentist isn't going to hurt him! Terrible experience!!!!!!! read more

I work for the school district and was offered to go to Willamette dental for a $15 dollar co-pay no matter what needs done. A tooth that should have had a crown was filled front lower then the dentist sanded the top down so short, shorter than the others looks terrible. I said shouldn't this have had a crown, yes it would have got a crown at a real dentist. Then got a root canal which a piece of the screw tools to deaden the roots broke off and they filled and crowned it anyway. Now my gum swelled up under that tooth went to the emergency Willamette clinic to have a x-ray which shows the piece. Now they told me they would call in a prescription of penicillin and call a endodontist and that I might lose the tooth. They never contacted me back I called them when I ran out of meds three weeks later asking when I would be seeing someone and the lady said soon. I said no I want to know a date at this time it was going on three weeks. Well they called today to tell me that they did not do a root canal that they just replaced the crown. That is what was suppose to happen because my cap had pulled away from my gum and they said I needed a crown but then came back to tell me it needed a root canal and we proceeded now they say I will need to pay $30 co-pay and $175.00 for the procedure and it could be more. They say the tooth may have to be extracted then I have no tooth. I told them I will be going to my other dentist and getting my mouth x-rays which will show that that tooth did not have a root canal until they screwed it up and I will hold them responsible see ya in court. I will be talking to the school district and they should not be affiliated with them. Very friendly staff not blaming them the company needs to stand behind the work they are practicing on patients and they should be calling and checking in on patients communicating on what they are doing not leave you hanging like I think they thought I would just go away. If I hadn't called them nothing would have been said or done. read more
