Wine was superb. Waiter was fantastic. Food was delicious. I'll go again when I visit Tucson next time...

Yum, yum and yum. I dream about their calamari sometimes. I have eaten here 4 times, always trying something different and it has always been good. I like their style of food and especially the portion size. I think it is just enough food and I have never left the restaurant wishing I had more or less food. Good wine, good service and a good atmosphere. read more

WHAT DID YOU SAY?? Waiter: "Do you want more bread?" My wife: "Sure, I'll have a Moscow Mule." Great food overwhelmed by mind numbing noise. We were seated indoors on a Monday night at 6:30. It was full, busy, but loud. By loud I mean 100db measured on my iPhone. To put this in perspective, NIOSH standards permit exposure to this sound level in a workplace for 30min. 85 db is the level at which hearing damage can occur. Not quite jet engine loud, but uncomfortable and difficult to talk without yelling. I played in a rock band and like to crank my stereo but this is fine dining. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful, although communicating our orders was challenging. Kale salad was good but not memorable. The grilled artichoke was very good smokey and served with a nice mustard sauce. The short rib was great, super tender and flavorful. The bacon wrapped Pork tenderloin was excellent, juicy and thankfully not overcooked. We skipped desert to escape the audio torture chamber read more

Delicious! The wine, appetizer, salad, and scallops were amazing and the service was great!

Great spot! We had the crab toast, sweet pea stuffed pasta, and fish and chips. Everything was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend read more

Sorry, but it is NOT NEARLY as great as everyone made it out to be. ESPECIALLY for the price, I could have gone to plenty of other places. I had the dumplings for the appetizer which was interesting, the best way I can describe it would be mushy. I couldn't taste much and the consistency was a bit like baby food. For the entree, I had the lasagna. Again, interesting but not much flavor to it. I couldn't tell if it was chicken or vegetarian, or pork. HOWEVER, the dessert did make up for the dinner entrees. If you're a dessert person, go for it. If you're there for dinner, try another place. read more

I relocated from CA to Tucson a few months ago. Having lived in Northern and Southern California with several decades of the finest dining experiences from SF and LA, My expectations weren't very high. WildFlower has quickly become one of my favorite dining experiences. The menu choices are not only original, and creative; the food is delicious, and visually enticing. The greeting staff is welcoming and friendly. The waiters are knowledgeable, and work with flawless timing. Our waiter was spot on today , taking care of my out of town guests, and myself. Thank you Tucker! read more

This is my favorite Fox restaurant in town. The location is great and can't be beat. Sit outside on the patio if you want a view of the mountains, or sit inside and feel like you are eating at a east coast restaurant. The interior feels like a mix of contemporary with colonial, and is unique and inviting. The service at this restaurant is always amazing and very attentive. The food is even better! The crispy half chicken is what I find my self continuously ordering. It is a great consistency and is the best dish I have eaten at any of Fox's restaurants. Also, if you love desserts, make sure to order one. They take extra care on the presentations of these desserts and they are some of the city's best. Highly recommend this to anyone. I wish they had this restaurant in Phoenix. read more

We just love this restaurant. Always, great food, drinks and service. After our last visit, we do have some comments. The Raviolis filled with beef short ribs were a disappointment. The filling was minuscule. This dish leaves room for improvement. The Paella was definitely disappointing. The kitchen missed the mark on that dish because a Paella is not served on a regular plate, then you just end up with seafood Risotto. The word "Paella" means the Pan its served in. Paella is a Catalan/Valencian word deriving from the old French word Paelle for pan which in turn comes from the Latin word Patella and/or Padella. So, for such a Restaurant as Wildflowers, we would expect a much better presentation for such a classic Spanish dish. read more

Up until today Wildflower had been one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson. Today was NOT good. Our waitress was lovely but our food was SO salty that it was inedible. Rick the manager was apologetic and suggested that we order something else. My husband had ordered the steak which was way too salty and I had ordered scallops which were inedible because of all the salt. Rick offered that we share a salad while we wait but we had just finished our appetizers. I really wanted the scallops so requested the same thing with no salt. They were still salty but not quite as much. My husband then ordered a burger to save time and made a point that he did NOT want Swiss cheese but cheddar. He hates Swiss cheese but needless to say the burger came with Swiss. Sending back your meal is enough to ruin your dining experience but having it come back poorly the second time is even worse. My husband was so fed up and did not want to complain again because at that point nothing could be done to remedy the situation. He just wanted to leave at that point. So we left and he said he would never return. What is the matter with the people in the kitchen? Don't they listen! I want to give this zero stars but it won't work. We had two appetizers, two entrees and a bottle of wine and left without ordering dessert and coffee because of the bad meal experience. What a disappointment to pay that kind of bill for a ruined evening. read more

I'd always wanted to try Wildflower, but it always seemed so insufferably trendy. Now that time has passed and newer restaurants are taking its place in the hip hierarchy, I decided to give Wildflower a try. We made reservations via Open Table and had no trouble getting seated though it was quite crowded for a Saturday night. The one issue that made me drop a star on this review was that the tables were so close together, patrons were forced to "rub butts on shoulders" as the bf put it. It was also very noisy - not quite the intimate setting some might prefer. We started with the Chef's Board and the calamari. The cheese board contained a slice of manchego, a wedge of Port Salut, marcona almonds, raisin jam, maple brown butter, garlic toast, and smoky chilled asparagus (our favorite). All elements on the board worked together pretty well with the exception of the raisin jam - the large chunks of grape would not stay put on the bread! I would have been happier with a chutney or something more acidic rather than the sweet and clunky jam. I love cheese boards (especially the one at the Abbey) and this one was average. It could have benefited from some salumi or something more savory to counteract the sweet. The lightly breaded and properly cooked calamari was memorable. The Asian sesame sauce and arugula were a nice change from your typical marinara or aioli that tend to accompany fried calamari. I also ordered the butter leaf salad, which had goat cheese, Medjool dates, (more) Marcona almonds and was topped with a fresh basil vinaigrette and crispy shallots. The salad, was ok, though perhaps a bit overdressed. For the entrees we ordered the sweet potato gnocchi and the short ribs. I am not a big pasta fan and plain potato gnocchi does not garner my attention, but this gnocchi was heavenly. The rich parmesan and sage butter sauce with bacon lardons did not overpower the light and pillowy gnocchi as you might think. Save some for tomorrow - this dish tastes better the next day. I'm noshing on it as I write -yum! The red wine short ribs were incredibly tender, but lacked flavor - needed more seasoning. The same could not be said for the roasted vegetables underneath. The Brussels sprouts, carrots, beets, and cauliflower had a great roasted flavor and were not overcooked. Service was excellent - no complaints - our sever was attentive and kept our drinks filled throughout the meal. Overall, it was a positive experience. We are already thinking of what we want to try next - including dessert. read more

Excellent food choices made fresh when you order. I ordered a greek salad and it was delicious. The decor is fresh and clean. They have original drinks choices. You can choose to dine inside or on the patio. The staff was attentive and friendly. read more

Dined last night at the Wildflower. 7 of us spent 2 1/2 hours over an amazing meal! Beautiful, tasty appetizers, wonderful short rib ravioli; perfect Spanish paelia; succulent bacon wrapped pork tenderloin; scallops that melted in your mouth. And then of course DESSERT...... Bars of Sin (a chocolate lovers fantasy) Cinnamon doughnuts with a vanilla custard (NOTHING ordinary with this selection) Cappuccino and coffee all around. Service was exceptionally. Resturant was busy but the servers we observed were attentive but not in your lap. We WILL be back! read more

Admittedly, I rarely go out for a treat-yourself kind of night. After reviewing several places, I became interested in Wildflower because of its menu, location, and positive reviews. After ordering our respective drinks, we were met with a large piece of bread to dip in a herb-garlic oil. I felt that the bread-oil ration was incredibly disproportionate, as we quickly ran out of oil. Small argument, it just would have been nice if this was anticipated. We gladly accepted another plate of both bread and oil when asked. APPETIZER My date and I started with the Black Mussels appetizer. The mixture of seafood and chorizo became pretty addicting and the quantity was a pretty fair amount. We each probably had around 10 or so mussels and my date was very focused on soaking up the remaining chorizo-soup with his leftover bread. The spice of the chorizo and saltiness of mussels made for a great pairing in this dish. ENTREE For our entrees we picked the paella and the short-rib ravioli. I've never really had paella before, so I snacked off of my date's dish. The baked scallops in it was pure gold. I couldn't get enough of it. The rest of the dish was wonderful, but my mind was much more focused on the short-rib plate placed in front of me. Ravioli is not a very fancy dish, admittedly, but the sweet, tender, short rib placed inside this dish topped with a creamy sauce was everything I wanted. Upon receiving our dishes, we were somewhat disappointed by portion size, however it ended up being more than enough for the both of us. DESSERT But we weren't done. It was my date's birthday, so we asked about any birthday dessert specials. They comped us our dessert: the cinnamon donuts. There ended up being so much more on the plate and we were left defeated in the shadow of our ever-growing meal. The donuts were made fresh and gave easily to a fork. We dipped this in the small container full of a yogurt-raspberry jam kind of thing and it was mouthwatering delicious. SERVICE And I've only talked about the food. They had blocked off the patio from the cold and had a pretty intricate layout of heaters to accommodate the demand for their business. We were lucky to get a table inside and very much enjoyed the intimate lighting inside. The waitstaff is nothing short of impressive. My sympathies to the dishwasher, as our little table of 2 went through (due to constant maintenance from our waitress) two bread plates and bowls of oil, two bowls for the mussel shells, the mussel plate and side plates we both used, our entree plates, and our dessert plates. Our waitress changed out our silverware three times too. That poor dishwasher is a busy man. Our water and wine was quickly refilled, often without our noticing. I've never even seen a waiter clean the table while we were still seated, but she quickly took notice of the bread crumbs that carelessly flew in our hunger and took care of it. We were beside a very large party of at least 12 people and noticed that the staff almost immediately bused the tables and had it clean within 5 minutes. Impressive and efficient. OVERALL OPINION Loved our experience and the food. Staff was incredibly attentive and productive. Food was delicious. A bit too pricey for me to be able to go on any regular frequency, but I will be back with others and will boast about our experience here. read more

The original Fox "concept" was re-vamped a little while back. It took a little time to get their mojo back, but my last few visits have been stellar. read more

The food, I thought, was interesting, a bit better than average for a place look this. This night, though, the service, was spotty. It took forever to (a) order a drink and then (b) finally get it. The server said the bartender was backed up. I'm not a completely desperate alcoholic--really!--but getting a cocktail quickly is paramount. After that I can accept some delay. Otherwise my server was nice and apologetic for the delay. On another night maybe this is a 4 star. read more

There are plenty of reviews for Wild Flower (WF) on Yelp, and the 4-star rating is accurate. But if this is not enough for you, read on. This is one of many Fox Restaurants in AZ, and is among their higher end businesses. I like the ambiance here as it is slightly upscale without being stuffy. White linen tablecloths and napkins set the tone. On a not so crowded evening that i was there, the interior dining room seemed surprisingly loud so we opted to sit on the patio. In AZ, any restaurant that has outside patio seating already sores points with me, and WF has a sizable patio with misters working feverishly in the summer and heaters in the winter. The menu here is continental food with Southwest and Asian influence (the waitress' words, not mine), and I agree. They have a good selection from a simple cheeseburger to seared ahi, and everything in between including duck tacos. I opted for the seared ahi with bamboo fried rice. The ahi was cooked slightly on the outside edge while retaining its reddish raw texture on the inside, exactly what seared ahi should be. The bamboo fried rice is a mixture of rice, mushrooms and some small amount of veggies. it is a good companion to the fish but was heavily loaded with teriyaki sauce (a frequent mistake made by non-Japanese cooks). Other dishes worth mentioning here would be the scallops with forbidden rice, and wood grilled salmon. If you happened to be here during happy hour (5 - 7 pm??), try their fish and chips, very well done and not greasy at all, and it costs only 9 bucks (otherwise 17). Sangria here is also well done, although you may want to ask them to skip the sugar powder around the glass rim. I thought it interfered with the drink itself. There are many other interesting sounding items on the menu worth several more visits. Despite some minor imperfections above, I still think this restaurant is worthy of your consideration for a very nice meal. read more

We used to be lunch regulars for several years. We have never had a bad meal and love this place. It had been months since we had eaten here so we decided to take my parents out this evening for dinner. We thought we would start making it a regular date night but after tonight, we don't think so. First, the food is still very good as well as the service. The #1 reason we won't return is the change in seating. They have moved a line of tables right up against the booths. It was extremely claustrophobic. There is literally no wiggle room between the booths and tables. The severs and customers had to turn sideways and squeeze through each time. It was constant bumping into the chairs. Constant bodies rubbing against the back of us. Plus, you couldn't hear conversation at your own table as the people in the booths are right in your ear. The people in the booths were also commenting on it as we have to move chairs to let them in and out. Very uncomfortable and could not enjoy dinner. Looking around the room, it is clear it could be easily rearranged. The dinner isn't worth the anxiety and constant interruptions. If there was an emergency and people need to evacuate quickly, there are going to be serious issues. 3 other minor irritations...my mom ordered the Greek salad for $8 and it was the size of a side salad. She said it was very good but the size was incredibly small. A dinner salad should be the size of one easily obtained at Beyond Bread? Skip the salad if you are hungry. #2...I ordered the shrimp and avocado dish. Delicious but be forewarned you only get 3 pieces of shrimp. Last irritation, it's 50 degrees tonight yet the young hostess is dressed very inappropriately in a romper that is no bigger than a negligee. Any slight bend and we were all looking at her underwear and cheeks hanging out. Now I'm sure the male employees love this but when her almost naked rear end is 3" from our plates, it's not so cool. It is NO exaggeration. We literally saw her rear end and panties constantly. Several tables were staring and commenting. It made me embarrassed for her. I'm not sure how the on duty manager thinks this is appropriate for dinner service. She's a pretty girl but this is better left to a night club. read more

Be sure to make reservations at this place since it usually fills up extremely quickly. I love the decor in here and the food is wonderful. If you want a quiet relaxing meal, this is not the place to go for it. The acoustics are horrible inside and the sound of people talking can be a bit overwhelming. I have gone here more than once, and each time it was the same. That being said, the food was very good. They have a nice selection on the menu. I had the Asian Salad and it was very good. They offer wine by the bottle at 50% off on Tuesdays. They also offer outside seating. As long as it is not the middle of summer, it is really nice to sit outside and have a view of the mountains while you dine. However, in the summer, even though they have misters outside, it can still be a little too warm. The staff was friendly and checked back often to see if we needed anything. read more

Hadn't been to Wildflower in years! I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed their new menu items...cheese board....ahi....calamari...artichokes! Food galore! I had the spinach pappardelle pasta that was great! The flavors were full and the best part was the pasta was light. Normally with a pasta dish you walk out ready to go into a food coma. Not with this dish! It was yummy, well portioned and flavorful. The atmosphere was lovely as well! Needless to say I had a really nice time and will be frequenting Wildflower more often read more

Okay, this restaurant probably doesn't deserve this review based on it's well presented and creative fare/chefs and fabulous employees. But I've had it! I've been to Wildflower many, many times and it's the same problem, over and over and over again! IT'S TOO LOUD! Yes, I'm shouting because my dinner partners who are sitting within two feet of me can't hear a word I'm saying. Neither could we hear the hostesses, (who were trying to explain why our dinner reservation request for the patio couldn't be accommodated) or the waiter (who was telling us about the specials). The waiter was very kind to comp us 2 desserts due to the fact that the patio was unavailable as well as the noise issue. I can't believe that this space can't be redesigned to allow for a better atmosphere. Hint, change the ceiling or add draping to it. BTW they won't guarantee space on the patio when you make your reservation (it's slightly less noisy). Don't know why most other restaurants are able to do that. And if you think Wildflower is loud, just try Culinary Dropout! Must be a Fox thing...get new interior designers. read more

I was frustrated beyond belief- my husband travels quite a bit. I tend to dine alone often, as a result. I like to go to restaurants near the NW part of town- close to home. I have given Wildflower at least four opportunities to insult my dining experience - I am so totally done with this restaurant- dining a lone, different ethnicity than the majority, waiting for service (initial contact, water etc) longer than customary, asking for well done food getting it undercooked, others ordered after and served well before- and I was given and hour to vacate the table- I checked open table at my time of arrival and they had availability. Shame on me for trying to make an excuse for exactly what it is in Tucson Arizona- once again shame on me. I feel so deflated by yet another of terrible experience at Wildflower These types of experiences are unacceptable and still occur even though the Govenor did not sign the bill last week. WOW! Awful! read more

Friends wanted to go to Wildflower for dinner. We ordered the half chicken. It was service raw and returned. They then service chicken so overcooked that it was a rubber chicken. House salad was bland and small. Fried shrimp and vegetables were tasteless. Other main courses were average. To compensate for the chicken, the manager considerately gave us free dissert, donuts and toppings. The donuts did not even remotely taste like donuts, just dough. I think that the restaurant is relatively pricey for Tucson and is very pretentious. Not worth the money. read more

We went to dinner here on a weeknight and it was our very first time. What a wonderful experience! I don't remember what our waiter's name was, but he had sort of longish hair and glasses (I think). Well, I'd just like to say that he displayed EXCELLENT customer service. He was very informative and made sure we were well taken care of. The bread and olive oil that they serve every table with is outstanding. The pan fried edamame dumplings was probably the best appetizer I've ever had. My fiancé ordered the spicy shrimp pasta and I ordered the spinach pappardelle and we both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. Mine had what felt like the most random ingredients that you don't think anyone could ever think of going together and it all tasted fantastic together. I was so impressed! The only downside to this was the price... It wasn't a ton of food and we had about a $60 bill. Obviously not somewhere we'll just casually stop by to get a bite to eat, but definitely a great place for a date night! read more

We had the most amazing meal here last weekend. The edamame potstickers were amazing and in a most delicious sauce. I only wish we lived in the area so we could enjoy Wildflower more often. read more

After sending an email of concern about my first visit, I got an immediate response from Amber, the regional director of operations. She called me personally; no one ever does that! She was amazing, receptive and extremely committed to quality. She urged me to come back and of course I agreed. I decided to come back on my birthday weekend and boy, did I have a change of heart. First of all, David, the bartender who served me the first time, remembered me and immediately came over to say hi. Then Amber proceeded to just knock it out of the park for the rest of the night. My bartender, Ashley, was so personable and sweet; I felt like I was visiting family--great atmosphere. The food was utterly amazing. No joke. I started with the chopped salad. Fresh ingredients, nice flavor, not overwhelming dressing. It had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, Havarti cheese and champagne vinaigrette. I modified it, by substituting the Havarti for goat cheese and adding pistachios. It was delicious! Amber then ordered for me one of the most memorable Ahi tuna dishes I have ever had; if you go, you MUST order it, although it isn't featured on the menu. BTW, the version I had was so envied by the other people at the bar that 3 other people ordered it the same way. I ordered the Ahi tuna with the Scallop base. The dish was presented with "forbidden" rice (it has a nutty flavor and a similar texture to sesame seeds), snap peas, spinach, lemon grass and soy butter, topped with a delicious cut of Ahi tuna. The dish was so amazing, I could not stop raving about it; the vegetables were perfect and the soy butter was delicious. For dessert, I tried a few different ones and the two best were the butterscotch pot de creme and the apple pop tarts. The pot de creme (pronounced po de creme) was a nice flavor, with a texture somewhere between a pudding and a custard. The nice thing about the dish is that even though it was intensely sweet, it was topped with sea salt, which added a great crunch and a nice contrast. The apple pop tarts were awesome!! They remind me of toaster strudel (only much better pastry and not as flaky) with a perfect apple pie type of filling. It comes with your own frosting bag, so it is not only heavenly, but fun. The quality here is impressive and the staff really wants to see you happy. My only gripe (and it's a very small one) is that the prices are a little high and the portions a little small. BUT, the quality is amazing and you do not walk away hungry. It's a bit of an upscale restaurant, so I would expect a slightly higher price point, especially given the thought put into the menu and the liquor selection. The tortelli is still on the menu, but I hope one day soon the portion size will be double. :) In the end, I did a 180 on my opinion of the place and I will definitely be back again. read more

Went on Mother's Day with my family. The bars of sin are to die for, but that's where it ends. We had reservations for 7:30. It wasn't very busy, but the service was slow and drinks were not topped off. The scallops were too salty, the black rice undercooked and lacked flavor and the accompanying greens were unseasoned and overpowering. Dad had the shortribs and he was mildly satisfied. They looked dry. The calamari was dry and what little sauce came with it wasn't anything special. The artichoke hearts were blah....Overall, I'd say it was overpriced and I was underwhelmed. read more

Made and confirmed reservations to sit outside on the patio. Arrived at the restaurant and they started to seat us inside. I explained I had confirmed a patio table. The food was delicious, but after we were seated we waited around 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. They were out of the wine we ordered and then recommended a similar alternate, which was nice. However, it wasn't on the wine list and they didn't mention it was a higher price bottle. At other establishments when this has occurred, the recommended bottle is either less expensive or discounted to the price of the bottle ordered. I would have at least liked a warning that it was more costly since it wasn't a listed menu item. Overall, we were disappointed. We had higher expectations based on the great reviews. The ambiance is nice and once the server came over, they did a good job with the exception of the wine $ issue. I think the problems we experienced were probably due to poor management. But be prepared for a little more wait time on 1/2 wine night and verify the price of any substitutes offered! We had the calamari appetizer, scallops, NY strip, ravioli and beef short ribs. All of these were very good. My compliments to the chef! read more

This was my 4th time coming here, the first two times were great food with the WORST service ever from a waiter named Dan. Ive continued to give it a shot because frankly I like the ambiance of the restaurant. The last two times I sat at the bar with the nice bartender. My meals were great, I had the short rib ravioli and last night the chicken. This restaurant I think just needs a better flow, Each time Ive come it has taken a really long time to get drinks and for the most part refills of bread and water and simple things like that. I am willing to give the table service one more shot because the restaurant is pretty and because the service is so slow you never feel rushed. read more

We had one off day. But I am very pleased with the response that I got from Brad. He appreciated my concern and was very understanding.

Had lunch here on Sunday 8/21/2016. I ordered the Shaved Turkey Club with fries($12). I paid the extra $1 for garlic fries. I asked for an additional side salad, and the waitress did not know the up-sell price. She said it was about $4 so I said okay, and I asked for extra tomatoes and strawberry vinaigrette. Within a few minutes the waitress came back to inform me that the up-sell for the side salad was $6. Holy molly!! $6 for a side salad. Assuming it was going to be good I reluctantly agreed to the $6 side salad. Now this is an $18 lunch here on the North side. First came the bread which was very delicious, then came the lunch entree. The club sandwich was excellent, and the garlic fries were good, but there was not many fries :-( The side salad was brought out last and you know what, it turned out to be just a bowl of lettuce with some ranch dressing on it. So yeah, $6 dollars for a small bowl of lettuce. Yikes....awful! Needless to say I most likely will NOT be visiting this dining establishment again. The Turkey Club was decent, kinda small but decent. The adding of the side salad was a bad decision, and it was a total rip! read more
