    Dinner for two

Find them on Groupon for an amazing dinner for two special. The soup was so delicious on a cold winter day. Beautiful ambiance in front of the fire panel

Came here on a weekday as a group of 7 girls for a cozy dinner. Overall experience was great! Food - food was amazing. Flavourful and did not disappoint. Generous portion servings for what you get. I ordered the NY sirloin steak done medium, with a side of garlic mash and veggies. YUM! Did not disappoint!! It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, juicy & filling! Sides were also good, would definitely recommend. I also tried the French onion soup!!! And this was probably the highlight of my night as it was not too salty, savoury, cheesy, and hit just right. Would recommend the French onion to anybody if interested! Price point - $25+ for entrees, $12-25 (approx) for appetizers, a full wine menu, and drink menu including cocktails. Service - great waiter & attentive. Ensured everybody's questions were answered and served us well. Organized, funny and attentive, would come back!

Firework displays, worth the extra cost for a table by the window. Fixed menu choices, lobster bisque soup was very good. Pork belly was excellent Mushrooms on toast was also good. Roasted lamb rack cooked to perfection and was excellent. Surf and turf , large lobster tail with braised short rib was very good. 16 Oz Rib Eye was tender and excellent, worth the upgrade along with the 12 Oz Wagyu kobe tenderloin. Their meat is worth making the trip to the restaurant. Desserts of chocolate tarts and chocolate cake were also amazing. Highly recommended on top of The Brock.

My expectations were mild considering the location. We ordered: Duck wings Pork Belly Beet Salad Shared a 20oz dry-aged "prime" rib eye Lobster Tail Scallops Mashed potatoes Duck Wings - Decent crispness, under seasoned. The sauce was sweet: would have benefitted with more acidity and salt. Use salt. 3/5 Pork belly - Tough and overcooked by about a long weekend. Flavour ok. 2/5 Beet Salad - Best appetizer, but it's just beet salad. 4/5 Ribeye - over cooked. Does not taste dry-aged or like "prime" grade beef. I would consider this close to SCAM territory. 1/5 Lobster Tail - Rubbery, but well seasoned. Edible. 2.5/5 Scallops - 3 x Tiny abductor muscles that did not warrant the $22 price tag. Rubber. Not edible. The waiter would not admit it was cooked from frozen 0/5 Mashed Potato - great. 4/5 The service was attentive and friendly. 4/5 Restaurant looks simple, but has a great view. Smells like a hotel restaurant. The kitchen doesn't know how make the sub-par ingredients into food. This is not a good restaurant.

Of course it is more expensive to eat here now, but still worth it! Delicious food, especially the appetizers. We were sorry to miss our favorite, Kayleigh, but Julie was great and very patient with our table (lots of loud talking and we took forever to choose what to have, lol). TO Bestie joined Boyfriend and I for dinner and really enjoyed her first visit! We shared the goat cheese and beef tartare apps... omg... go just for the apps! Absolutely perfect. She had the chicken and I had their new mushroom pasta as mains. Very good. Boyfriend had a Caesar salad and some steak - I think it was a striploin - he didn't care that much for the steak which was a bit tough. He would definitely stick with the filet mignon next time. Great restaurant and absolutely one of the better dining options in Niagara Falls. Also 18+ so no children running around, and great atmosphere. Beautiful fireplace. All I would add is ambiance music or something (if there was any, we couldn't hear it).

Service from the bartender was great. He offered up some suggestions, which I needed because they have a large menu loaded with so many appetizing and amazing looking options. I started with their potstickers... They came out with a hard, fried shell and the dipping sauce went nicely with them. Enough to share, or even enough to enjoy and still have room for an entrée. My main dish was their Chicken & Waffle. This isn't some ordinary chicken and waffle, it's definitely an amped up version, made with unique and interesting ingredients, culminating in great flavors! The chicken was so large and very tender - it was amazing! The bacon and sauce on top went with it nicely, and the chive waffle was great with it! Each bite was definitely amazing! This was a great experience, I can see why they have so many reviews and such high stars, those are well-deserved stars!! Definitely recommend stopping in here!

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, which made it even more enjoyable. I ordered fried calamari along with single chicken wings tossed in an Asian sweet and spicy sauce--both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The combination of crispy textures and bold flavors really stood out. What made the experience even better was the service. Our server was amazing--attentive, friendly, and truly great at her job. She made us feel welcome from the start. I always enjoy trying new places, and this visit did not disappoint. If you're looking for an American restaurant near Niagara Falls, this is definitely worth trying. We ended the meal with a delicious dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to a great experience.

Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. The meal always starts with fresh baked bread service that is accompanied by butter, house pickles and either a hummus or garlic confit (in my experience). My mom is gluten free so she was bought her own dish with focaccia and a roll. She was over the moon about that and really enjoyed the focaccia. We all enjoyed every bit of our meal which included our choice if an appetizer, main dish and dessert from a prix fixe menu for $40. Some of our choices included charcuterie, arugula salad, tamarind shrimp curry, salmon and lemon meringue cheesecake. We left with our culinary needs satisfied and our stomachs full... we even had some leftovers. I can't wait to go back again. It's best to make reservations as they usually get fully booked. The menu changes each culinary semester as this is an instructional restaurant.

Assorted Bread: I'm not a bread person, but I enjoyed their bread. The standard roll was good, the Roll with (dill?) was good, and the one infused with brisket was also good. The dips/snacks that came with the bread were perfect complements to the bread. The pickles were confusing, but I enjoyed them on their own. Chef's salad: A good salad is underrated, and their salad was a case of basic done right. I enjoyed the blue cheese the most, since I haven't had it in a salad in a long time. It was a good mix of softer textures provided by the apple, cheese, and greens, while providing crunch via the nuts. Arayes: I'm expecting a crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside pita. I wanted a juicy and flavorful lamb, and I wanted the tahini + tzatziki sauces to be good. I got all that and was pleased. Shrimp Scampi: I was a bit disappointed by the portion size, but I had to remind myself that the lunch special was $16 and I had already gotten bread and a nice appetizer. The shrimps were big, and the flavors were light. I liked the fact that the dish wasn't oily. Some people might find it dry, but I like it. Jagerschnitzel: This was the best bite of the meal, and I regret not ordering it. The pork cutlet was very good, and the gravy helped improve the dynamics of the flavor. I've never had caraway spaetzle, but I must say that I enjoyed it, and the red cabbage didn't taste like cabbage, and it almost felt like a red spaetzle. It's a beautiful dish visually, and an even better dish when consumed. Dessert: I..... was not a fan. I thought it was too sweet. My companions liked it though. Ambiance: I felt very underdressed. The establishment definitely gave a white tablecloth environment where diners were pressured to buy a bottle of wine. I had to remind myself that it's a school, so the students needed to learn a certain standard. A standard that I could see. It might be better if there was music, but I'm not gonna complain about it. Service: Excellent. I could tell our wait staff was nervous. Who wouldn't be? I'm sure he'll do fine in the future. It would've been nice if our food arrived a bit faster, but I understood the need for pacing in these course menus.

Sure, it was good... but Doc's knocked by socks off. I went here on a recommendation from the staff at a hotel that competes with the Best Western where Doc's is located, which is always a good sign for a hotel restaurant. Got the corned beef boxty, which is amazing. With the boxty fries, which were really good - much better than standard fries, in my opinion. And had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Heavenly. I actually went back two days later after dinner at another restaurant to have the sticky toffee pudding one more time. The atmosphere is very nice, like a pub should be, with good service from the bartender, music the second night I was there, and some good conversation with a fellow traveler from London (Ontario). The odds are high that I'll be back. If you're looking for somewhere to burn all the delicious calories, my suggestions are the Niagara River Recreation Trail (from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake) and the Niagara Gorge Hiking Trails. Three and a half out of five for Doc's matches. They burn well, and are a cool souvenir, but it's difficult to strike them on the side of the box. Still useful to have around the house where I can strike them on the side of another box, but not ideal for a retro night out on the town.

Tasty Pub Fare, Great Vibes & Even Better Reuben Bites!…read more Doc Magilligan's is a cozy Irish pub with a solid menu, a great beer selection, and a lively atmosphere. We really enjoyed the live music--it definitely added to the vibe, though it did make chatting a bit tricky at times. That said, the sets were short and added a fun touch to the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and everything hit the spot--the cauliflower bites were tasty, the spinach dip was solid, but the star was definitely the Reuben Bites--absolutely delicious! For mains, my wife ordered the mac and cheese and loved the depth of flavour--you can really taste the leeks, which was a nice twist. I got the chicken parm mac and cheese and thought it was fantastic--the chicken was juicy, crispy, and perfectly done. The rest of our group was just as happy--my brother raved about the Chicken Pot Pie, and the Bangers and Mash were also a hit. Overall, a great Irish pub experience with comforting food, friendly vibes, and some standout dishes. Definitely worth a visit!

The restaurant is in the lower level of a boutique hotel called Sterling Inn & Spa. Once inside, you are transported to a modern French inspired theme and ambiance. The chef is very much into sustainable cooking / ingredients including his own garden for locally grown produce and sources all other ingredients from Organic farms and purveyors as well. For this special menu, they had curated items from their normal ala carte selections as well as a few other unique items based on seasonal ingredients. Each meal offered three courses including an appetizer, main and a dessert. My wife and I each chose different apps (sunchokes for me, salad for her), but both had our hearts set on that beautiful looking beef tenderloin and who can't resist a dessert called Chocolate Chocolate? Our server was a transplant from the states, she was super-attentive and full of energy and smiles. It certainly added to the ambiance of the evening. My wife had a glass of red from a local (Organized Crime) which she said paired perfectly with the richness of the steak. Each dish was superbly crafted, cooked and presented. Being a three course meal, including a fourth course (bread service with an incredible whipped herbed butter)...the meal was paced so as to take your leisure and linger over every bite. Truly, the star of the entire meal was the beef tenderloins which quite literally melted in your mouth topped with melted brie and served with the creamiest mashed potatoes I think I've ever had. I would easily put this steak in my all-time top 5! We relished every bite, soaked in the vibe from start to finish and left feeling fully satisfied. Definitely a "special occasion" type restaurant, but also not to be missed if in the area.

Erika was not rushed and was professionally efficient.   I have to say that Cory knows you eat with your eyes first, smell second and taste last. The Octopus dish was stunning in its presentation with immaculate detail to all the delicious bits on the plate. Wow. So good. The Lamb was no less impactful in presentation and succulence.   All in all a wonderful experience. Erika was a star. The meal was outstanding.
