Since receiving my vehicle back after repairs in August of last year, I've experienced intermittent starting problems that I never had before. More than a year later, the issue remains unresolved. I've provided videos, confirmed warranty coverage for the installed part, and brought the vehicle back. Staff witnessed the starting problem when I arrived and acknowledged that it happened again during testing. However, I was later told they couldn't consistently recreate it, so no resolution was provided. I understand intermittent problems can be difficult to diagnose. However, I've explained that my vehicle sometimes sits unused for several days. Starting it every day doesn't reflect the conditions under which I experience the problem. I shouldn't need to start my vehicle daily just to rely on it. Before dropping it off again today, it took nearly five minutes to get it started. This has become stressful, especially when I'm left waiting after medical appointments. I'm hoping this visit leads to thorough testing under the conditions I've described, clear communication, and a lasting resolution. I want to feel that my concerns and the problem staff have already witnessed are being taken seriously.

I can't recommend The Car Doctor enough!…read more My transfer case catastrophically failed, and I was incredibly lucky that my car broke down just two minutes away from their shop. It was around 10:00 PM, so I searched Google for the nearest repair shop and found The Car Doctor. Even though they were closing, one of the employees took the time to help me drop off my car. That alone showed me they genuinely care about their customers. The next morning, my car was fully diagnosed, and they clearly explained the issue and gave me multiple repair options without any pressure. Since replacing the transfer case is a major job, I was told it would likely take a few days. To my surprise, I received a text message the very next day around 5:00 PM saying my car was ready for pickup! I honestly couldn't believe how quickly they completed such a big repair. The price was very fair, but what really stood out was the outstanding customer service, professionalism, honesty, communication, and efficiency. Everyone at the shop treated me with respect and made a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you to the entire team at The Car Doctor for taking such great care of me and getting me back on the road so quickly. You've earned a customer for life. Highly recommended!

I got there Sunday morning so went to the Mexican restaurant around the corner (it wasn't bad!) and then had a couple beers at the brewery around that corner. Looking for a reliable, honest, local auto repair shop in the Dale City/Woodbridge area? This is…read moreit. Quality work, fair prices, prompt service. Shop staff take the time to show you the issues identified, proposed fixes, and up front pricing. You'll be greeted at the desk or on the phone with polite welcomes and knowledgeable responses to your questions. Although the vehicle initially appeared to be repaired, it broke down again within a day of being returned to me. When I returned to discuss the recurring issues and seek a resolution, I was not met with the level of professionalism or customer service that any paying customer should reasonably expect. Instead, I experienced an alarming and deeply unsettling confrontation. During our interaction, Brian approached me within inches of my face, repeatedly calling me a "bitch" and a "whore" while also stating, "I will hunt you down." Whether intended as a threat or not, these comments were intimidating, inappropriate, and entirely inconsistent with the standards of conduct expected from a professional business. I also witnessed another customer, an African American couple, attempting to address concerns about their own vehicle after experiencing similar issues. According to their account, their vehicle worked for only a short period before the problems returned. While their interaction did not escalate to the level of verbal abuse and intimidation that I experienced, their concerns appeared to be dismissed rather than addressed. Beyond the repair issues themselves, what affected me most was the genuine fear I felt as a result of the confrontation. The behavior directed toward me was so aggressive and intimidating that I left the premises in a panic. After leaving, I realized that I had accidentally left my purse behind. I was so uncomfortable returning alone that I requested a police escort to accompany me while retrieving my belongings. No criminal charges were filed. However, the fact remains that I felt unsafe enough to seek police assistance in order to recover my property. Regardless of whether the conduct met the legal threshold for criminal action, no customer should leave an automotive repair shop fearing for their safety after raising concerns about services they paid to receive. This review will be updated based on how the business chooses to address these concerns, whether through meaningful resolution, refusal to engage, or the outcome of any civil remedies available to me. Customers have a right to expect competent workmanship, honest communication, and a safe, respectful environment in which to ask questions about repairs performed on their vehicles. Businesses have a corresponding responsibility to address customer concerns professionally and to maintain an environment free from behavior that could reasonably be perceived as threatening, intimidating, or abusive. No customer should feel unsafe when seeking clarification, accountability, or resolution regarding services for which they have paid. To resolve this matter, I am requesting reimbursement for any repairs that an independent mechanic determines were defective, incomplete, unnecessary, or improperly performed, along with a good-faith effort to address the conduct described above. I would also appreciate acknowledgment that this behavior does not reflect an acceptable standard of customer service and assurance that appropriate measures will be taken to help prevent similar incidents from occurring to others in the future.
