The Distillery is right off of the loops main road and features a gravel parking lot with ample space. Per its name, the distillery is known for its ciders and its fruit distilled spirits. Our group opted for one flight of cider, and one flight of spirits. For the spirits, we got two fruit vodkas, a gin, and an apple brandy. All four had a nice fruit essence on the nose. The vodkas tasted as you would expect and the gin had a semi sweet, lightly herbaceous taste. My favorite was the apple brandy which was sweeter with a more discernible apple taste. I did not drink too much of the ciders, but the others at the table expressed that they did enjoy them. They were light and not overly sweet, which is a plus for me, as I feel many ciders are too sweet. There was only one gentleman working behind the bar who was kind and executed our orders within a few minutes.

Although I didn't like some of the flavors, it's always fun to try all the different ones with my husband and compare our tastes. They have a few food items available to snack on while you have a cider inside or outside. The pretzel with cheese and mustard was ok. Cute concept and decor but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of most of their ciders. Dogs are welcome outside. Restroom available inside for customers only.

Bad start but we decided to go for it (I planned this stop because they had good looking food and cocktails for the non wine drinkers). There were maybe 4 tables occupied, so I was surprised it would take "a long while". One person from my party went directly to the restroom so didn't hear what was said, when he came out he went to the bar and asked if he could order a flight which he received a strict "no it's going to be a long while" Lol I understand being overwhelmed or whatever, we're human, but to have the attitude was unnecessary. We left after a few minutes and spent $400 at another winery down the road. Which by the way was much busier but because they were kind we stuck it out, our server made a good chunk on tips too. Too bad

A great afternoon of lively music with a few local musicians - music across many genres and styles - the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young rendition took me back into the 70"s. What a blast! Fun partying with friends. Very cool that vineyard owners Tess Barr sang (voice like Dixie Chicks Natalie Maines) and husband played a mean maniacal harmonica. They rocked! Have to go back to just get into the wine and spirits more sometime to enjoy the outdoor vine in view of vineyard with a Mount Hood back drop. Hood Crest makes wine, distills whiskey, cooks da pizza and makes music - makes you live-a-little on the wild side when your spirit connects with Hood Crest!

They began with moonshine - apple pie and cherry pie varieties - and have expanded to an award winning whiskey! The apple pie moonshine is a consistent favorite drink and is classified squarely in the "dangerous" category as it goes down way to easily! The cherry pie is solid as well, but not nearly as sweet. The whiskey is excellent as well and goes great in a libation. During the COVID crisis, they flexed their creative muscles and started distilling alcohol for hand sanitizer- sources most of what they needed from folks in the area. It was quite a nice display! They sell in plenty of local stores as well as from their garage. They've also got some swag for sale and the shirts look good! They're a great bunch, making a great product! You should check them out!

We usually find a wine tasting room to check out but had more than enough in walla walla and decided to see if there were any distilleries to check out. Using yelp we found a few but Swede Hill stuck out to me. With only two reviews and both at 5 stars, I was excited to try something new. Pam and Kevin are so nice and welcoming! They have such a cute set up and welcoming committee in their puppy, Susie. Kevin starting distilling as a hobby and has turned it into a line or spirits worth trying. Moonshine (apple and cherry pie), raspberry vodka and a whiskey too! All super good and easy to drink and especially dangerous. Both are very knowledgeable and will entertain your questions about the distilling process. I feel like this is a stop I must make whenever stopping in Yakima! Definitely call ahead to make a reservation since it is such a small operation.

With that being said the bartender makes AMAZING cocktails. Well balanced and tasty and compliment their spirits well fresh ingredients lovely presentation. The food we had was DELICIOUS! We were lucky enough to come on a night when the chef tried his hand at Pizza. Every one tries pizza but this was tasty from the crust to the toppings not too much or too little just right. I think I tasted a truffle oil finish on the crust? Customer service was top notch both nights. Friendly, informative and helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor patio to accommodate our dog and it did not disappoint. The indoor ambiance is warm and inviting.
