Great location and I really loved the bubbly pear wine. The frosted cold wine bag was a nice touch.

The staff are very nice and friendly, they try to help you understand their wine and winery well. There are some art you can look while you enjoy the wine. Reasonable price for wine tasty.

Visited this winery during our recent visit to Hood River. We entered in around 4:20pm and they close at 5pm. The staff was not happy about us walking in at that hour clearly. Anyways we ordered the tasting really quick and even the staff behind the wine bar was not too keen on helping us out in making some good choices. For the tasting, you get to pick which wines you want so I ordered these vines- Pear Vine, puerto montana, barbera, riesling, rose & cab sauv. Honestly i loved their puerto montana but wasnt a fan of the rest. The views from this winery are phenomenal. My friend got a full pour of their pear wine and trust me the full pour was just a little more than a single tasting glass. My friend did ask them if this was their full pour and they said yes. Great place to spend some time with friends with amazing views of Mt.Hood but I personally have had better wine and friendlier service in the area.

Beautiful views, great whites but so-so reds. But what really irked me was they did a bait and switch on the wine-tasting fee. When we arrive one service staff person explained that tasting were $20/person and would be offset if we were to buy a bottle. There were two of us and she explained that if we bought two bottles then both tasting would be free. When we decided to buy two bottles and checked out a different person (likely a manager or owner or son of the owner) refused and explained only one tasting would be waived. This was one of 5 wineries we visited that weekend and all the others waived a tasting fee for each bottle purchased. So I found it petty on their part to ding us with this bait and switch!

The indoor tasting room is bright with high ceilings, a fireplace on one end and several different seating and gathering spaces. If it's windy or cold, you will most likely have to wait for a table if you want to sot inside. They don't have wait service here; you line up to order and pay at the bar then bring your tasting tray or bottle to your table. The outside area wraps around the venue on two sides with views of Mt. Hood. If it's a warm day, this is where I prefer to sit, especially if Mt. Hood is wearing her winter snow sweater! There are various seating options with Adirondack chairs and tables on both sides of patio. Dogs are welcome outside. On a recent fall day, we did the red wine tasting inside. The flight started with a 2019 Pinot followed by a 2018 Merlot, a 2018 Zin, a 2017 Summit red (which was a blend) then ended with a 2018 Syrah. The last two were my favorites as they were bigger, bolder and jammy. Great with pizza, red meat or just drinking with a charcuterie plate. When friends come to visit I select a winery with beautiful view of Mt. Hood and a winery with views of Mt. Adams. Hood River Vineyards obviously is the Mt. Hood view! Since wine is so personal, this allows them to try a flight while enjoying picturesque views and ambiance, and then they can decide if there are bottles they want to purchase. The flight here included five reds; most people can find something they like and want to buy.

It took me a while to gather my thoughts and decide how I wanted to word my review of this place. Reading other Yelp reviews in see that there are some "interesting" characters posting here.... and that was my take on the typical patron there: interesting. And I mean interesting in a somewhat pejorative way. That is to say, not exactly my kind of people and I'm sure it's mutual. I'm not a wine person and, in fact, I rarely drink alcohol anymore. But I have to agree, tongue in cheek, with the Coors light reviewer. I probably would have been happier with a pint of Colorado kool-aid too. No minus stars for that though since this is a winery and not a saloon! I only stopped because the young lady I was traveling with wanted to experience the place. Showed up on my Harley, wearing leathers and my US Military veteran patches. Walking into the place it felt like I had just landed on Mars. Suffice it to say that I was quite the curiosity. So much for the yuppies and their "inclusion". The grounds were absolutely amazing. Great view of Hood. This place is probably stunningly gorgeous around the harvest season when colors change. The fare was ok. She said it was great so I will defer to her on that. The staff seemed hard working, attentive, friendly and accommodating. I have no sense for what prices are at wineries but I didn't need to take out a loan to entertain my friend so the experience seemed reasonably priced to me. I do have to wonder about people who just show up hoping to get a free buzz. This is, after all, a for-profit business, right? You can buy a couple of bottles to take with you or you can pay a fee to sip away for "free". I'm guessing $15 barely covers their overhead cost to serve and clean up after you.

MHW was such a pleasant surprise. Beautiful views of Mt Hood, cozy sitting area outside next to the vineyard, friendly and knowledgeable wait staff, and a delicious assortment of wines. I really enjoyed my wine tasting and found it hard to narrow down my favorites. I will most definitely be back!

The staff were so friendly and offered us recommendations. Busy but was easy to get wine! We tried 2 reds and the sparkling wine! The views were smacking! Perfect view of mt hood! Would absolutely go back!

This was one of our first stops ! We did a wine tasting. I was a bit surprised when the first thing we were asked when we walked in was if we were tasting. Fair question, but how about a hello first or a friendly greeting? So I felt like that was a bit rude for an introduction to this place. THe venue was beautiful. Big picture windows overlooking the vines and flowers. Beautiful artwork on the wall. You got 5 tastings for the price and so we just split one. The wines weren't the best but we bought one bottle. We've been spoiled by the wineries that we are part of, so overall we weren't too impressed but for the venue and views it was an enjoyable stop!

We had some places to visit and I wanted to go to a winery that had the amazing view of Mt. Good in the background. I did some research and all that I could find is a place where you had to pay a lot of money to do wine tasting and sit outside to enjoy the view. Another location had two winery locations and you had to sign up for the premium wine tasting to have the view. Not this location. $15 for 5 wine tastings of your choice white or red. When you arrive, you check in and start a tab. I got the White Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Zinfandel, Summit and Pinot Noir. You mark it down and they fill your glasses up. We came outside found a picnic table and we all sat on one side of the table to capture the amazing view of the mountain with our wine glasses. Everyone enjoyed the wine. My two favorite were the White Pinot Noir and Summit which was a blend of 4 wines. Each wine complimented each other. Everyone was so nice. When I purchased a glass of wine, I went inside and told the lady who I was and received great and prompt service. I was very impressed with this place. I know their is many wineries around but I'm so sold that when I get home, I'm signing up for the wine club. I got to have that white Pinot noir at home. I read the history of this place. To think it started 20 years ago and where they are today is incredible. Best wine stop in Oregon.

What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend it!

Sorry. no additional pics. ---We finished a wine flight after sitting in a patch of shade with a wonderful breeze, and the most amazing view. The flight was a great idea as we settled on a couple of bottles of one of the wines. Make sure to stop and enjoy the wine and the view.

We got here a little after4pm ... was disappointed the hours are not as listed (5pm close) we were able to order two flights. The wine was ok to good just not at the price point they were selling at. I guess the 20-30% premium was for the view off in the distant.

We had a lot of fun trying a variety of wine samples on the back patio with our pup in tow. There were a few groups of people but not overly crowded. The view was beautiful, and it was very relaxing!

There was plenty of parking, though the road up is very steep, so make sure your E-brake is working! There are two outdoor seating areas, one just outside the main entrance, and one overlooking the river. The area overlooking the river is not open to people just tasting, but it looked like the perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The interior tasting room (where we sat) is luxurious while still being comfortable. The ambiance of the entire place is lovely, and there is beautiful art and charming knick-knacks everywhere. I was pleased to see all of the pride flags-- it's cool to know you're drinking in a safe place. The woman pouring also let us know that the winery has a literary/witchy theme, which I thought was fun and an excellent conversation-starter. The wine was good. I like German varietals, and this place clearly knows how to do them well! The Gruner was my favorite, and we ended up getting an extra taste of the early harvest to compare to the mid-season, which was lovely. We also got an extra pour of some bubbles because someone else had ordered a glass. The woman pouring was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and even had the winemaker herself come and chat with us for a moment. Tastings were $25 for a decent pour of 5 wines (though we ended up tasting 7) and they come with a little cheese/olive plate to boot! I was very impressed by the experience offered here. It seems this winery also does a number of events, which I am looking forward to attending. This was an amazing find, and I highly recommend you drive the extra 15 minutes out of Hood River/White Salmon if you are visiting to taste.

Fast forward, we planned a stop at Loop De Loop after hiking Multnomah and Wahkeena Falls. It was one of the best surprises of the whole trip to Oregon. I expected Loop De Loop to be a small, modest vineyard and instead I discovered an absolutely stunning vineyard nestled in the picturesque hills of the Columbia Valley. I opted for the full tasting and I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed the breadth and diversity of the wine offerings. And the wine is made organically!!! We actually enjoyed the wine and experience at Loop De Loop more than any vineyard we visited in Williamette Valley. We also tried the cheese plate and tinned fish, which were delicious. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating. I love the decor and art throughout the building. Service was really good. I dont recall the name of the young woman with red hair helping us out, but she was fantastic. This place gets pretty busy so I recommend reservations. Definitely check it out! The wines were the star of our experience. WINE: 5.0. The certified wine expert among us could take only 2 bottles back with her to Japan from the 11 WA and OR wineries we visited during our road trip: one of her choices was a Savage Grace Cabernet Franc. SERVICE: 4.5. Michael Savage was the sole server, and thus we were able to talk directly with the winemaker. We appreciated his unpolished explanations about the style of wines he strives for, and about his vineyards and winery. He also pointed us to a great viewpoint a few minutes away. AMBIANCE: 4.5. Let me start by saying the quality of wine and the view are the only reason I gave it a 2 star review. When we arrived we were fully aware of their 2 bottle purchase policy if you do a tasting. Which you should be aware of if visiting. There was a group of 5 of us, 2 who were prepared to purchase at least 4 bottles and do the tasting, 1 who doesn't drink and wanted to see the views, and 2 designated drivers for 2 cars. First the lady asked if we had reservations which we did not. The place was nearly empty with just one other couple. She then proceeded to say before we start you let's make sure our winery is a good fit for you and then began to interrogate us about those not drinking. She tried to push smaller pours with what they call a designated driver plan for the designated drivers which we declined. Still not seated through an interrogation of our intentions, she pushed the DD plan on our 3rd person who said she felt we weren't going to get seated if she didn't accept. The tasting was super slow and took almost 2 hours. We've visited numerous wineries but this is a first where they tried to push alcohol on the designated driver. The condescending way we were greeted and treated is not worth the ok tasting wine and spectacular views. We will not be back with our next winery excursion in the Hood River area.

We were greeted with a glass of Cab Franc Rose, which I had never had before, and we both really enjoyed it. We selected the flight since it was our first time having COR wine and we wanted a variety. The flight arrives in a tin bucket with individual carafes of each pour. There were four plus a complimentary pour, so three whites and two reds. Of the whites, the Cab Fran Rose remained my fave and I also enjoyed the Pinot Gris which was crisp and light. I'm a fan of big, bold reds but because of the sun, the red wines got so hot that we couldn't drink them which was really unfortunate. They did include a small bag of ice in the bucket to keep the wines cool but it was no match for the sun. Next time, even if I am tempted by the sun, I will select a seating area in the shade so we can enjoy all of the wines in the tasting. To round out our experience, we ordered the charcuterie for $35. COR continues to be very careful with Covid protocols so the charcuterie is a kit that you put together. Olympic Provisions salami, a box of hearty crackers, Marcona almonds and casteveltrano olives in mason jars, and a soft cheese were provided; all delicious. Service was warm and friendly, they answered our questions thoroughly. Some customers like to have the staff pour each taste and explain the wine; at COR you pour your own and info on the wines is provided on a card.
