Full tasting

Great local ciders at a cool tap room. They have a variety of ciders made from apples, cherries, and boysenberries (or combinations of the three). You can get a full tasting of all 10 of their ciders. Really uncomplicated and good quality ciders that are true to themselves and not trying to be anything else. If you're looking to take a bottle home, know that the tap room downtown is only stocked with 4-5 ciders. You may need to take a trip down to the orchard/cider house just outside of town for the others. COVID precautions are so-so. Masks aren't enforced and staff sometimes wasn't wearing theirs properly (nose in, people!)

The famous 10 flight! What a great way to spend an evening. Bought a growler of our favorite one at the end!

Spent a wonderful afternoon at this relaxing street side distillery. My wife and I saw people getting a flight the other night and decided to join in on the fun. Went in and was greeted enthusiastically and grabbed the flight. Tried all 10 ciders for an amazing price and sipped ourselves into a warm dream. We loved reading about the details of each cider as we worked our way down! Don't underestimate their pineapple jalapeño cider it is I N C R E D I B L E. Definitely make it a priority to stop here when in town! You won't be disappointed by the quick service and carefully crafted ciders!

Wow, we really enjoyed the tasting flight here! Cute location and right next door to a small fresh farm stand. We hope to find some of their ciders in town.

The Distillery is right off of the loops main road and features a gravel parking lot with ample space. Per its name, the distillery is known for its ciders and its fruit distilled spirits. Our group opted for one flight of cider, and one flight of spirits. For the spirits, we got two fruit vodkas, a gin, and an apple brandy. All four had a nice fruit essence on the nose. The vodkas tasted as you would expect and the gin had a semi sweet, lightly herbaceous taste. My favorite was the apple brandy which was sweeter with a more discernible apple taste. I did not drink too much of the ciders, but the others at the table expressed that they did enjoy them. They were light and not overly sweet, which is a plus for me, as I feel many ciders are too sweet. There was only one gentleman working behind the bar who was kind and executed our orders within a few minutes.

Although I didn't like some of the flavors, it's always fun to try all the different ones with my husband and compare our tastes. They have a few food items available to snack on while you have a cider inside or outside. The pretzel with cheese and mustard was ok. Cute concept and decor but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of most of their ciders. Dogs are welcome outside. Restroom available inside for customers only.

However, it's the ambiance that really sets this place apart. James is the maitre d' and traffic coordinator. A solid and steady presence who belies the hijinks to come; he is one of the main reasons that I keep coming back. He always remembers my name, and seems to shrug off the peccadilloes of the past. And those would include a wild time (afternoon--evening-- good thing we had a designated driver) with some of the best live music this side of anywhere. There were first rate musicians at the top of their game. Tess, Patrick (sp?) and Moe, thanks for the awesome time you showed my girlfriend's family.

A great afternoon of lively music with a few local musicians - music across many genres and styles - the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young rendition took me back into the 70"s. What a blast! Fun partying with friends. Very cool that vineyard owners Tess Barr sang (voice like Dixie Chicks Natalie Maines) and husband played a mean maniacal harmonica. They rocked! Have to go back to just get into the wine and spirits more sometime to enjoy the outdoor vine in view of vineyard with a Mount Hood back drop. Hood Crest makes wine, distills whiskey, cooks da pizza and makes music - makes you live-a-little on the wild side when your spirit connects with Hood Crest!

I first noticed Wilderton at my favorite New Seasons location and was very excited to see them start construction on their tasting room in Hood River. I've been wanting to visit for months and finally got up early enough to finish my snowshoe adventure at Hood Meadows early enough to get here before they closed. And I'm so glad I made the effort to visit! All I wanted to do was simply try all their goods. I discovered that they have your traditional tasting flight...and more. Their taster provides a sample of all of their "spirits". But they also provide a taste of each spirit with a mixer that pairs well with it, such as tonic water, spritz, and ginger ale. So that was a great, and unexpected, addition. They also offer a selection of full cocktails with each spirit and a seasonal cocktail. This time it was the Chai Old Fashioned so I enjoyed that. It's a small, cozy spot in the midst of their production room so it's a neat place to sample the goods and the service was very knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. I'm really glad I visited and I really wish them well!

I hope they can strike perhaps a better balance in the botanicals they produce and perhaps come up with a couple other varietals as two of the three seemed to have similar pairing profiles. The third was a little more earthy and paired better with a bourbon or whiskey but seemed to overpower rather than complement the alcoholic spirit. I saw some other review talked about the credit card machine and printed information; they had all that when I went which was definitely helpful!

We usually find a wine tasting room to check out but had more than enough in walla walla and decided to see if there were any distilleries to check out. Using yelp we found a few but Swede Hill stuck out to me. With only two reviews and both at 5 stars, I was excited to try something new. Pam and Kevin are so nice and welcoming! They have such a cute set up and welcoming committee in their puppy, Susie. Kevin starting distilling as a hobby and has turned it into a line or spirits worth trying. Moonshine (apple and cherry pie), raspberry vodka and a whiskey too! All super good and easy to drink and especially dangerous. Both are very knowledgeable and will entertain your questions about the distilling process. I feel like this is a stop I must make whenever stopping in Yakima! Definitely call ahead to make a reservation since it is such a small operation.

They began with moonshine - apple pie and cherry pie varieties - and have expanded to an award winning whiskey! The apple pie moonshine is a consistent favorite drink and is classified squarely in the "dangerous" category as it goes down way to easily! The cherry pie is solid as well, but not nearly as sweet. The whiskey is excellent as well and goes great in a libation. During the COVID crisis, they flexed their creative muscles and started distilling alcohol for hand sanitizer- sources most of what they needed from folks in the area. It was quite a nice display! They sell in plenty of local stores as well as from their garage. They've also got some swag for sale and the shirts look good! They're a great bunch, making a great product! You should check them out!
