Sharyn and Vinnie were rockstars! The horses were fantastic too ;) I rode Ty, my wife rode Maverick on the Deschutes River ride... it was simply amazing! It felt great to be out in Gods country, riding an amazing animal. Stop thinking about it and just pull the trigger. Quit buying gifts and start buying experiences and memories!

An incredible experience with amazing scenery along the Deschutes river. Vinnie is so knowledge about the area, the forest plants and land. He's chill and relaxed immediately putting you at ease and ready to ride. He pointed out nesting Osprey, Eagles, and shared fascinating tidbits about the area and nature of the forest. Maverick was delightful to ride, so sure footed and gentle and Ty was awesome and a great ride for my friend. Both beautiful. A ride to celebrate Spring and the beauty of Mother Nature.

On a mother-daughter weekend showing my mom and sister Bend for the first time and we decided last minute we wanted to go horseback riding. Vinny gave us a tour and showed us such a beautiful time. It's really obvious when someone loves what they do and seeing him with the horses was very special. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! I want to be him when I grow up!

Had an absolutely lovely morning out on the 2 hour Deschutes River ride! The owners are so warm, friendly, and funny, and above all, will make sure you have a safe time (and fun experience!) Can't recommend highly enough - I'll be back to visit Maverick soon! :)

Maverick & his pretty blue eyes :)

My mom really wanted to ride horses & she found this company via web search! We were SO HAPPY with our ride! Our ride guide was named VINNY & he was AWESOME! He even took photos of us during the ride :) He really made the experience feel personal, informative, fun, and exciting! He gave us bites of info along the trail, cracked jokes, made conversation and was truly the best guide. I rode Maverick (white horse with blue eyes so handsome!!), my mom rode Ty, and my little brother rode Jabañero! All horses were so sweet & the ride was so smooth. The weather was a spectacular 70/80 with not a cloud in the sky.. I 100% recommend this company & don't have enough good things to say about them. We LOVE Wilderness Horse Adventures and will make this a reoccurring special outing for our family!! Woo hoo!

My husband and I had an amazing time on the River Ride with horses Maverick and Ty and Vinnie, our guide. I have not ridden for over a decade and it was the perfect speed and level of difficultly for me. My husband has had more recent experience and he was a bit more confident on the horse but he had a great time as well. The ride is so beautiful next to the Deschutes River and you go over meandering trails that narrow and open up. The horses love to grab a snack of fresh grass here and there so there's a little something in it for everyone. Vinnie was a great guide; he was the perfect amount of laid back but also very attentive when I had a question and he was very personable without being overbearing and gave us some space to enjoy our ride. They give you a helmet and safety vest so I felt like they are attentive to safety as well. The length and quality of the ride and being able to do it with just the two of us rather than a huge group made the price tag well worth it and I would definitely ride with them again.

This ride was so much fun for two, unseasoned riders! We would absolutely recommend the river ride in the fall. The colors and scenery were just gorgeous, and Sharyn & Vinnie were very nice folks to spend the morning with.

We drove down from Seattle never been to Bend. The last ride I did was a group of 30 and tail to head boring loop in Red Canyon. This was a totally different and AH-mazing couple hours. I spoke to Vinny on Wednesday to arrange a Sunday ride. He was hilarious and answered all my questions and provided a lot of suggestions for the area. He also sent me pictures of the horses we would be riding (Cactus, Tye, & sassy Maverick are very photogenic:) Quick online form to fill out and can pay online or cash. Very easy. The ride itself, we chose the Paulina Creek Ride. It was a 25 min drive from Hampton Inn Old Mill area. The horses were waiting when we arrived. I had also been in contact w Sharyn Sun morning several times to verify we had the right horses etc, communication was top notch. The horses all had their own personality and I loved it. The ride was beautiful and the horseswere allowed to stop and get in the water if they wanted. Both S and V truly wanted the ride to be excellent and it was. I would def book with them again. Cost was a bit more than some of the resorts haha my BF had a bit of a fit when I told him how much but seriously it was worth every bit of the $600 for both of us. It was personal and we got to experience nature in only the way you can riding a beautiful beast that is sharing their electromagnetism with you!! Vinny told us all about how our spines tingle and send all those electrons up to your brain, LOVED the convo, horses and of course the beautiful Mother Earth. We arrived at 9:15 and in the car heading to lunch by 12:30.

Just walking. No trotting. Boring. Expected an adventure but keeping the horse's head up was it. This is more for children than riders.

I didn't find out until after the ride that he is only four years old - which may explain his green behavior. I really don't find it enjoyable to constantly be pulling on a horse's mouth while they are trying to go their own way or getting too close to other horses. He's already got a hard mouth and I'm sure it's going to get worse. Putting experienced riders on this horse for an hour at a time is a poor excuse for proper training. I sincerely hope you do the right thing for this young horse before he's ruined.

Most of the places we've gone to in the past (Crooked River Ranch and Eagle Crest Resort) were closed this summer, so we decided to make the drive to the Seventh Mountain Resort by Mt. Bachelor. We had a terrible experience trying to make a reservation. So up to the actual trail ride, I would give them one or two stars for the administrative side of the business. Nonresponsive by phone, a bit disorganized in person and they overcharged us for the ride until we called the discrepancy to their attention. Once we got on the horses, things improved from there, slightly. The ride is a bit dusty and not the best we've ever had, but again, there appear to be very few options in the area. Unfortunately on a trail ride your experience is very dependent on other riders and whether they are comfortable and able to control their horse. We had two other riders that almost fell off and unfortunately it really freaked out my son. We've gone to Diane's Riding Place, which I now consider the best in the area, but it is more instructional rather than a trail ride. So at the end of day, a fun family activity, but hopefully others will have a better experience before mounting their steed. They also have adorable miniature ponies at Pony Town, so that would be a hit with little ones.

The majority of their business is focused on guests who are staying at the ranch (many from overseas) who want to go on longer trail rides or an old fashioned cattle drive a la City Slickers. Since we already have a home in the area, we didn't get to take advantage of their hospitality as guests. However, we did visit to enjoy a trail ride. My boys love to ride, but it has been quite difficult finding a trail ride that satisfies all of our needs. We've tried Diane's Riding Place, but they tend to be more instructional. The stables at the Seventh Mountain Resort were only OK. My goal was to get more of an 'authentic' trail ride with a little bit of fun. We were only partially successful. First off, making reservations wasn't terribly easy. After calling the main business line, I was given a second number to dial for the stables. Since the focus is on their ranch guests, they don't seem to be overly eager to take outside riders. Fortunately, some of those guests had another activity planned, so we were able to arrange a ride. It turned out to be semi-private and Katie was a wonderful guide. You will sign a brief liability waiver, and riders must wear jeans and boots. The boots requirement was a first, but fortunately they have plenty to borrow at no charge. Children are also required to wear helmets. The ranch covers 600 acres, so they took a gentle ride up through the hills to enjoy the view of the Three Sisters. It was a good ride, but low on the excitement factor. No cantering or galloping, just an easy mosey up and back. Unlike the prior reviewer, the ride lasted exactly 60 minutes, so no complaints there. It is really disappointing that there aren't more horseback riding options in the area. These hills are filled with ranches, but due to liability concerns, very few open their doors to the public. We still feel like we are searching to find that magical ride. http://www.lhranch.com/index.php

The Long Hollow Ranch checked every one of those boxes. We stayed in the Homestead cabin, which had three beds upstairs, and one downstairs. The cabin had two strong window AC units, which were wonderful. The cabin had no TV, which was great, but did have a vintage stove that served as a table top for the in-room microwave. There's also a mini-fridge and a Keurig Coffee Maker. Beds were comfy, bathroom has hot water in the shower, and the decor was fantastic. The morning breakfast was signaled by a good old-fashioned dinner bell at the main house, which is beautiful. There were lots of hash browns, fruit, juice and more. They even offered to cook each of us an egg to order, which our son took advantage of. The breakfast was absolutely great. All in all, this place was well worth the price, which was already much lower than other places on our trip. They even let us dabble with our fly pole in their bass pond free of charge. They accommodated our late check in (10 PM) and even had the AC going when we arrived. Customer service was top notch. This is the definition of a 5 STAR property.
