There are two separate dog parks under the Wildcatter's name, a big dog section and a small dog section. This review is strictly for the small dog park as I have a little guy under 20 lbs. Apparently this is the best dog park in the area but I really have no frame of reference since it's the only one I have been to. However, I have met people at the park who live in La Habra, Diamond Bar, West Covina and other cities so I'm sure it's pretty accurate. The park is spacious and is constructed well with an enclosed gate, astroturf, waste cans (including 2 for pet waste), park benches, a picnic table and water fountain. The majority of the people that frequent the dog park are great but there are a few who solely come to the park to create drama and engage in gossip so I would advise you to exercise caution when making friends or building connections. I try to keep in mind that I am here for my pup and the social aspect is secondary. I am also pretty picky about who I decide to talk to, I can spot a toxic person from a mile away. THE CONS: Horrible flies in the summer. The city does not supply poop bags for the park. Owners ignoring their dog especially their poop. owners ignoring their dog's terrible behavior and blaming other dogs for their own dog's behavior. Owners going as far as spreading lies on the Friends of Wildcatter's Facebook Page which is immature. Owners who treat their dogs horribly. Insufferable owners pointing out the park rules every time they see something they don't like (not everything needs to be said or said rudely). Rude owners busting into conversations because they are offended by the topic of conversation (if you don't like the conversation, walk to the other side of the park, my 1st amendment rights Trump your feelings!) THE PROS: it's a pretty clean park when responsible owners pick up their dog's poop. It allows dogs to get much needed exercise and socialization. I have the freedom to go to the other end of the park when terrible owners are acting out. You do meet some exceptional people who are kind and love dogs and I feel lucky to have met them. I say, ignore the various cons and check it out for yourself!

My favorite dog park ever!! There is a separate play area for big and small dogs. I've never had any problems coming to this park, both with other dogs and owners. Everyone is very respectful and dogs are friendly. We go to the small dog park and there are lots of tennis balls and other chew toys for dogs to play with. There is also a water station to quench your dogs thirst after all the playing. The turf is very clean and our dog doesn't get as dirty compared to other dog parks. There is plenty of parking across the street and have never seen the lot full. Definitely would recommend to any dog owners!! Great for socialization.

This is prob my fav dog park. I prefer the turf (fake grass) vs real grass (and MUD!!!) because it's way easier to clean up and wipe my dog. Both times we came here the dogs and owners are very friendly and they watch their dogs closely. There are some poop here and there but I try to make sure my dog doesn't sniff/eat/step on the poop. Overall the park is pretty clean. My dog had the time of her life running around and meeting new doggos and hoomans. Parking is street parking and the park entrance is kinda hidden so I got kinda lost the first time coming here. But it's right on Santa Fe across the street from the "park park" @lunabbmorkie approves!

Really crowded. And I've forgotten how BAD this park smells of dog waste. No baggies. Owners brave enough to navigate the scoop into the awkward poop cans usually end up with a pinched finger. Com'n, Brea. Do better.

I moved to brea about a month ago, and this park is a very close - my dog and I throughly enjoy this park. Definitely one of my favorite. BUT this review is to alert other owners of a certain dog and it's owner. The dog just so happens to be a white pit bull with a few dark spots on his coat, name is bambam, and is usually accompanied (hardly supervised) by his male owner. Long story short, my dog is extremely friendly and he did not like the other dog at all. The dog kept playing aggressively with my dog. At one point he kept mounting my dog, growling at him and then what seemed was the other dog attempting to nip my dog. The other dog was no longer playing, but being aggressive with mine. I go to retrieve my dog and reach for his harness, attempting to pull my 40lb dog away from the other, weighing 60lb+. The other dog ends up biting my hand on the progress. While his owner was casually, taking him time to walk over me. Eventually he got his dog and left immediately, without an apology. I saw him 2 days later, and confronted him about it after his dog went after mine yet again. When I told him his dog bit my hand, and showed him the marks he replied kindly with "was your hand near his mouth". No apologies, no sign of remorse, and completely rude. When the man with his dog left, the other people at the park agreed that the other dog was behaving aggressive, and even suggested that I should've called someone such as animal control (to get the dog banned from going to the park for 10 days).

Very large dogs in large dog area. Toys, shade, water, turf. Very clean. Dedicated parking across street. Nice safe, clean neighborhood.

This dog park is so nice. It's in a quiet part of town there is tons of street parking and parking at the lot across the street. There isn't too much dirt and it's clean and pleasant. We enjoy our visits :) it's very big too! And there isn't someone kicking us out right when they close like at the hacienda heights one.

Dog parks are always a little funny to me. It always seems like a social club where people get together and talk about their dogs. "How long have you had him?" , "What breed is he?" Of course people are just being nice. I'm always nice too, and I find myself asking the same questions as them. There's just a lot of small talk involved when you go to a dog park. Maybe dog parks should serve beer. Anyway, catch this dog park after 4 pm or on weekends for maximum dog participation and endless amount of friendly talk about dogs. If your dog is less than 25 lbs, go to the small dogs park on the right. It's a nice area with benches and a drinking fountain, but it is all dirt. I would call ahead to see if it's open the day after a rainy day. It can look like a mud run. Who am I kidding. It stopped raining here in Southern California years ago. By the way, there is a large dogs park too, but I don't go to that one. My small dog would be offended.

This is honestly an amazing park! its clean and there is a lot of bowl everywhere for your dogs to drink water:) But there is a lot of mosquitos around there so please PUT MOSQUITO REPELLENT on your dogs before getting there so they do not get any diseases from these mosquitoes. My baby got a mosquito bite sadly but hopefully it isn't anything serious

New + improved!!! There are 2 different parks, one for small 25 lbs and under and another for bigger dogs. The smaller park is a little hidden. Much better than the dirt park they had before. Although lemme warn you.... TWO different ladies being the poo patrol asked around "whose dog is that?" While my dog was taking a poop as we were waiting for him to finish to pick it up! People should mind their own business and let everyone look after their own dogs. Other than that, it's fun for all the doggos!

The scratch the other owner's dog left on me

BEWARE OF THIS WOMAN!! Don't get me wrong, I love this park. But I'm posting to warn others of the lady in the picture. She has a large white and black dog that she can not control. They attacked my dog who did not instigate or pay any attention to them whatsoever. Her white dog bit him on the ear and had him by the neck while the other dog bit my dog's leg. We talked after and I was trying to be calm and nice but she kept coming back with her dogs (which I've respectfully asked her to keep away) and tried to justify that it's normal for dogs to fight. I disagreed and didn't like her irrelevant comment that my dog is a bully breed and aggressive. Her dog 100% attacked mine on their own accord and she acknowledged it was their fault. She then went on to make racial slurs to others and myself. She said she's a racist and proud of it. She threatened me while not controlling her dogs. She's lucky I didn't call animal control because the cut in the picture is from one of her dogs as well. If you see her, beware!

There is a round about parking near the entrance with a moderate amount of parking spaces but if you go past that further in there are more parking available. The play ground is quite large compared to other smaller park playgrounds. The cool think i like was that stairs from the first parking lot with the restrooms connect to the playground. So kids can jump right into the fun. Next to the playground its surrounded with plenty of picnic tables (concrete) and lets parents sit and relax while the kids play. The playground has multiple entries with two slides? Two monkey bars, stepping stone style elevated steps, a fireman pole, etc... definitely a fun park to come to. There is a little creek adjacent to the playground where you get a nice tranquil stream of flowing water drowned by the screams and laughter of children in the background, lol.. its nice really and something that sets it apart. We did not go further past the stream but there appears to be additional tables and a trail. Had a great time meeting our friends there and enjoying some fun times with the kids in the process. My kids loved it.

It's the perfect quick escape -- close enough…read moreto civilization for convenience, yet far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of traffic and city life behind. Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.

For convenience, I decided to buy a parking pass, which cost $10 and allowed for re-entry until 8 pm the same day. There were plenty of trees to photograph. Because of the current hot weather, there were several flowers already drying out. It's important to note that park rules prohibit cutting any tree or flower growing in the premises. Park amenities are minimal, but you can find multiple restrooms with water fountains and picnic tables to sit. When I went, there wasn't a big crowd, and the green space is already expansive. When the weather isn't hot, it's calming to take a walk along the paths and grass to visit different areas of the park.
