I really like that trees line the fields--it gives parents some shade while watching games. There are also plenty of benches along the sidelines, which is a nice touch. Brought my daughter to meet her friends for a playdate. I like this park it's shaded but there are no swings and the bathroom is a little far but it's a cute park. Actually perfect for hot days cause of the shade and bench tables they have around so you can bring lunch or snacks. Just not a whole lot of playground equipment but my daughter always finds friends or something to do! I do like this park though it's close to her friend's school too which is nice. I have brought my daughter here a lot! Not my favorite park but it is very convenient. I like that the pavement under the playground is soft though that is really nice. 35 years ago, my dad used to drive me out to these empty oil fields for the specific reason that there was nothing else here: it was a great place to set up a telescope at night, to watch the Perseid meteor shower, or during the day, to come out here and look for snakes, which was a hobby of mine as a kid. But progress, marches on, rich people need their house on the hill, even if the view is of those same oil, derricks, perpetually, moving up and down, pumping black gold into the economy. And somehow, in the middle of those same oil fields, the good people of this community decided it would be a great place for an athletic center, with several soccer fields, baseball/softball diamonds, tennis courts, batting cages, and an elementary school, for good measure. Still, those oil derricks are pumping away, just behind the fence. The park itself is not too bad, with some pretty nice facilities, permanent concrete bleachers around the baseball diamonds for example, a little kiddie playground area, and a walking path that gives you a great view of the oil field. We were here for a soccer tournament, and parking was a bit of a nightmare; I ended up parking in a neighborhood to the west, and walking in about a half of a mile. Also of note: there is only one central bathroom that I was able to find in the entire park, and it's really not convenient to most of the fields. We're talking a seven or eight minute walk to take a leak, and then when you get there, there was a line. Yes, a line in the men's restroom. Overall, this was a nice place for a soccer tournament, and I couldn't complain about the weather... But another bathroom or two would not hurt the place, and once the parking lot is full, hope you brought your walking shoes. read more

I love this park. It is the perfect park for kids who love slides, climb steps, climb up poles and walls. There is no sand! As a parent, that is like angels singing to my ears. I only want the kids to play with sand when they are at the beach and not at the park. This is a beautiful sports park! We drove by here after lunch yesterday, and my son said he wanted to stop and see the basketball courts. Getting in a bit of a walk after our large lunches, we enjoyed getting some exercise here. The playground is wonderful. This huge area is fully covered which is great on a sunny, SoCal afternoon. There are several large fields for baseball, football, and soccer. We liked the big, beautiful trees and the amazing shade they provide. There was a large concession stand with some picnic tables to the left. My son and I finally spotted the basketball courts at the very corner of the park. We also thought the seating throughout the park was nice as well. My son wants to come back and shoot some hoops here, and I look forward to taking a long walk through this big, beautiful park on our next visit here! read more

This park is well maintained, huge, has lots of field options, and includes a walking trail around the entire park. I do notice that the street facing fields are pretty much used for team sports, but there are fields open to public at pretty much any time. I love the kids area. It has SHADE!! It's not gigantic, but there's plenty of room for let's say 20-30 kids at any time (which would be pretty crowded for this area). Plenty of benches surrounding the play area, so parents always have a place to sit in the shade as well. Great park for the area. read more

This place has three kids play area. The play area is divided for children 2-5 years of age and 5-12 years of age. The play area for 5-12 years of age isn't difficult for toddlers to enjoy as well. The play area looks a bit small and doesn't have any swings, but has a good shade that helps to come during the afternoon when there are a lot of sunlight. There are lots of parking spots that have shade from the trees. There's an elementary school right next to the park that during 2 PM all of the parents park their cars at the park so it gets super crowded around the parking lot. read more

It is a very nice park but I don't know why people are saying there is plenty of parking, when there is a soccer tournament going on parking is crazy, you circle and circle trying to find parking and we got lucky because someone left then we walked from one end all the way to the other end which was a long way to get to the field we needed. Small park. If you have kids the playground has a tarp to protect kids from rain and offers shade on sunny days. There is a small trail to walk on. There are usually a lot of sports activities going on, so plan on parking being difficult at peak hours. Otherwise, the bathrooms are well maintained and there are tables one could sit at and write they're next best selling book at or eat with the kids. If you have dogs, there are areas that are enclosed (mostly) so you can do some dog training. I have been told of one coyote sighting around 6ish in the morning. Just watch your small dogs. I enjoy that the park has rabbits, birds, lizards, and coyotes. I wish there was a track for runners/sprinters. read more

I've been to a few baseball games here and I have played a few pick-up basketball games here too and the park is seriously so clean and well kept. I remember the restrooms being in pretty good condition as well. This park is a great place to come and hang out and walk or catch a sports game. Great park! Very large! The playground area is huge with three play structures. There is a short 0.6 mile trail around the park that's great for walking or running. I feel very safe here. There are 5 baseball / football / soccer fields that you can reserve. Field use is prioritized for Brea-based organizations. Contact the Community Services Department for more information. The area itself is nice. Not good for soccer tournaments. PARKING IS HORRIBLE. People park everywhere since there not many places to park. And you will find police officers right there to place tickets. (Rightfully so). We ended up having to park across the street and walk across the busy street. Field #1 is super short. Update: Came by on Friday 7/29 and Daenerys seems to have rounded up all the Dratini because there was not a single one. The park was also 80% empty compared to two days ago so either they don't spawn on Fridays and the locals know or the nest is just gone. There are three baseball fields here, two of which double as soccer, football, cricket or any other type of field you can think of for sports use. In addition, there is one giant open space/field which is primarily used for soccer. The fields are all decently maintained and the restrooms are some of the cleanest I've ever visited at a park. I come here on Saturday mornings to play/practice softball with a group of friends. While I play, my wife watches my daughter play at the covered playground equipment (perfect for those hot days of summer). read more

Went to this park for a morning run, and it's well-maintained. I like that there's a specific path you can walk/run to equal 0.6 miles each lap, and time seems to go by rather quickly due to the change of scenery. I'm rather against using restrooms at parks since they're typically so darn gross, but I was very delightfully surprised to see how clean they are! They even have s o a p! What whaaat.. It's a refreshing spot to run and simply enjoy the outdoors, but still within the industrial area. I do deduct a star, however, because fracking takes place right beside the park and the yucky smell from it all lingers at the park. Social anxiety prevents me from exercising on brightly colored jungle gyms with children and their parents around. Can we get some pull up bars or parallel bars, some kind of calisthenics equipment for adults around here? Today I visited six different parks, all with the same problem. This review is for the playground area, not the sports fields. It's a clean playground with 2 different jungle gyms that are both covered to help keep the kiddos from getting sunburned. It's a nice spot, but unfortunately there is not much in the way of seating. And because of its location it's quite popular so you should bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on.
