Wildcat Creek is set out in the countryside. The place is peaceful and relaxing. During non construction times it is t too difficult to find. You will find lots of parking on the back side of the winery. It is a long and up hill walk to get to the front entrance. Once inside you will find a small area that is nicely decorated and welcoming. The interior is full of attractive wood work. The wine tasting bar is very small. The staff here is very nice and helpful. They were very engaging and pleasant to talk with. You will find some indoor seating in the sun room that is very inviting. The seating outside in the porch is very relaxing and tranquil. You will find a very limited selection of finds. You will be disappointed if you are a dry wine drinker as there is one red and one wonderful choice. But wines were nice but not outstanding. There is a refrigerator with blocks or cheese and meat if that interests you. You will need to buy a whole block of cheese, package of meat and box of crackers. They do not have any prepared trays available. There is no other food available as well. This is disappointing in the modern winery day and age. read more

When I first walked in, I was a little put off by the woman behind the bar who simply said, "Hi" and put two drink menus on the bar. I had never been here before so I wanted to look around and see what they offered. I was pleasantly surprised to see much more than just wine. They have cheese, crackers, local artists pottery and adorable wine related towels and clothing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor venue is especially inviting with small clusters of tables for groups to enjoy their time together. I was especially pleased to have one of the owners, Kathy, step away from busy morning to chat with my Mother and myself about a local "hero". I do not drink alcohol, but I have friends that adore wine and there are enough "other" items here that I will be dragging them out "in the country" to get acquainted with my new find. read more

Good service!! Love the options for wine. I opted for a tasting (you get 5 for $6 --I think?) All of them were good except maybe 1 was a bit off. That is rare. I usually only like a couple. I ended up getting a glass of the red I liked. My second fav was the reisling (and I'm a red wine person). They have won awards which are on display. They have a gorgeous outdoor area/ seating area. It was a little busy for thurs evening. They have nice gifting merchandise. You can purchase cheese and meat but not to really eat there. They will provide utensils but it is not like an order to eat/kitchen situation. I bought some cute pet saying coasters. I got the chocolate bar to go with my glass of wine and it was perfect. The bottles were around $20. I plan to go back for a glass of reisling and maybe another tasting sometime. I didn't photograph the seating area since there were so many people sitting around. I almost missed the entrance because the sign wasnt that big. read more

Came here to try them out while visiting my daughter. The workers were very friendly and everything was very pleasant. Nice seating outside and comfortable chairs to relax in with your wine. The flights were very reasonable for what you get. My only complaint would be the road noise. Unfortunately this is right next to the interstate so you hear all the trucks and cars zooming by. Was trying to find things to do in and around Lafayette when we stumbled across this little gem. It's a nice drive from Lafayette and the winery is situated a little off the main road. The gardens are gorgeous and there's outdoor seating, but being a chilly October morning we only went for a quick jaunt around the establishment. The lovely lady who walked us through the wine tasting was absolutely brilliant. Full of knowledge, enthusiastic, engaging and very lively. I'd go back just to have a chat with her. I didn't get to try the wines myself (forgot my ID - facepalm) but those in our group who did definitely enjoyed what they tried. They are a small establishment so large groups may require prior reservations ?not entirely sure but from what I could see the wine tasting could only accommodate 6 or 7 people at a time. I could be wrong though so best to call ahead. But I would definitely recommend hitting this place up. read more

Technically a winery because they sell house made wine, but grapes and juice are produced elsewhere. I was impressed with their selection. An assortment of white and red, from dry to sweet. The Reisling was surprisingly quite mild which was a nice surprise. However, most of their wines are on the sweeter side. We enjoyed the Lafayette Red on their beautiful grounds and took a bottle home. I thought their label was a great design and we had a great experience. They even allow dogs on the grounds and on the porch. The tasting experience was nice, the staff were knowledgeable and they offered pairings with crackers and chocolate. If you are still enjoying yourself after the tasting room closes - you don't have to shut it down, they allow you to keep the party going. Just be respectful and you can stay until your heart's content. Lol. Enjoy! read more

We are visiting from Dallas, and when we saw there was a winery in Lafayette we had to check it out! The winery is located in a cute house with a spacious deck overlooking some beautiful scenery. We were able to sample five wines and opted to purchase a bottle of chambourcin as well as multi-grain crackers, havarti dill and cheddar cheese. We were provided with a couple of wine glasses as well as a plate and knife for the cheese. We sat out on the sunporch and enjoyed our wine and cheese. It was such a nice experience! After we finished our bottle we bought a few souvenirs. The staff was very nice and the bathroom was immaculate and adorable. They do not ship bottles, but we bought a couple anyways and will figure out how to get them back down to Texas. I highly recommend a visit! read more

This is the perfect place for a post-work glass of wine with friends! The winery is located on the edge of town, so it's probably about a 10-15 minute drive from most locations, but still secluded enough to feel like you're removed from the city. The staff is so incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. We did a tasting and then purchased a bottle to share. They also have snacks- crackers and Fair Oaks Farm cheeses available for purchase. You can bring your own food as well! We sat out on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful weather while winding down from a work day. They close at 6 on weekdays, so be sure to get there before 5 in order to enjoy your time! This is an adorable little winery just a few minutes away from Purdue University. A friend and I visited on a rare 70 degree day in February and were pleasantly surprised by the FREE tasting. The actual house is cute and cozy and there wasn't a single wine that we tried that we didn't like. Most of the ones we tried were fairly light and fruity. You can choose up to 5 wines for the tasting. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and happy to answer any questions. There are picnic tables and a wrap around porch right near the house. We both got a glass of wine for $5 each and enjoyed them in the sunny yard outside. There are no benches or chairs out in the yard but the grass suited us just fine! If you're a pair doing the free tastings, the best idea is for each of you to pick half of the list, and then you can both taste everything. Their wines are good and well-priced. They sell them by the glass and the bottle, and you can open the bottle on the premises and have it re-corked. We always buy at least one bottle at every visit. read more

I came for a tasting with a couple friends. The tasting is free and the lady serving us was fantastic. She provided excellent descriptions of all the wines and explanations for the names and flavors. The wine was also delicious. After the tasting, we split a bottle of wine ($15) and relaxed in their lounge/sun room. The only drawback is the interstate noise. The winery is located right next to I-65 so the roar of traffic is distinct in the sun room and on the grounds. Hopefully they will plant some trees/shrubs along the property line so I can give them the 5th star they deserve. No matter what, I'll be back. read more

Wildcat Creek Winery is a small family owned winery in Lafayette, and is very different than the other wineries I have been to in the past. They offer a complementary wine tasting where you can sample any 5 of their about 15 wines. They have a pretty decent selection of wine, from dry to sweet so there is something for every palate. If you wish to purchase wine, it is about $5 a glass, and all of the bottles are under $20. The winery is the first floor of a small house, that is decorated very simplistically. It is not your typical location or ambiance for a winery, and while that's okay, I will say it made an impact on my opinion of the winery. The staff here is awesome, and are some of the nicest people I've met! Definitely a great group of people. I would have liked to see an area to sit and drink wine, with a small plate menu serving cheese and crackers or something. I think they should expand their location and improve the ambiance. There is so much potential for this place to succeed because it is the only winery in Lafayette, and location is perfect for company since it is right off i-65. Overall though, I did have a positive experience here! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This place is a joke and a complete tourist trap. Do not go here unless you want to interact with a rude, unprofessional owner. She seems very unwelcoming and seems to not want customers. I went to an after hours event at the winery and all guests were charged $10 whether we tasted the mediocre wine or not and I'm so stupid I bought two bottles. The $10 charge per person is because we used their grounds. For what??? A couple of rickety picnic tables.... ?? read more

Small building that offers tasting of their wines made from grapes grown out of state, so I was a little disappointed in that. I do have to say that the gentleman doing the tasting was very knowledgeable on the wines and it was a fun 30 minute stop for something random to do in a town that offers little in entertainment. This small, family-run winery is a delightful surprise tucked away near Purdue University. We were also pleasantly surprised that the tasting is FREE and the glass of red we enjoyed was only $5. We liked the Prophet's Rock & Lafayette Red the most. They have some unique wines like Aunt Minnie's Cherry Tree and Harvest Cranberry made from cranberries. I've been stopping by the winery every few months to try the wine and pick up a few bottles, because their wine is very good, and the staff has usually been really great. I decided to drive across town this weekend to go there and get some wine. This time the person working the bar was unfamiliar to us. She was so rude and hateful in the way she spoke to us that we left without tasting and buying wine. I approached the bar and said hi, we'd like to do a tasting, then in a nasty, irritated tone of voice she told us "well, I'm not going to start you guys because we have a big group coming in, and I'm just not going to go back and forth. So you have to wait for them." I was stunned by her malicious tone. We decided it would be better to leave than be disrespected by her and then contribute to the business who thinks she's capable of running wine tastings. This girl needs fired. read more
