Flights

Great little cider place in downtown Valpo. Love the theme - aftermath, with ciders named after storms like Tornado, Firestorm, Hurricane, etc. Try a flight and follow it with a slushee! Reasonable pricing. They have a small food menu as well.

Cider flight at Aftermath

As a cider lover, I was thrilled to find this gem right off the main drag of Valpo. We stopped in on a lovely Friday afternoon and were able to sit right next to the open garage door. The variety of ciders was outstanding! It was really hard to decide what to order, so we ended up splitting a flight. On our flight we tried Firestorm (Lemon/ Habanero), Lightning (Strawberry/Lemon), Downpour (Peach) and Cubbie Bear (Cherry). Firestorm was by far my favorite. The lemon flavor really came through with just a hint of heat at the end. So good I ended up bringing a growler home with me. I also really enjoyed the Lightning - the strawberry was quite noticeable and for a sweeter cider it was delicious and would be perfect on a hot summer day. I so wish this place was closer as I'd definitely be a regular!

We love this place for wine slushies and the atomsphere. The owner and staff are super friendly. The wine slushies change on a monthly basis I think. I would highly recommend stopping in. Also, another benefit you can bring your dog. Our dog loved it. Great place, food, wine slushies, and staff.

80s sampler

We ordered the 80s drink sampler. Aftermath has tons of specialty drinks, wine, cider and beer options. We ordered pizza and a salad which was ok. The giant salted pretzels with cheese sauce are to die for though!

I'm a regular at this establishment and a big fan. They host free bingo or trivia events every Thursday night that are a blast. The food and drinks are delicious. The staff is fun and friendly. My only complaint is the cell service is bad and I wish they had better Wi-Fi for their customers.

Wine menu

Walking around Valpo, we stopped into this open spaced winery. We walked in and seated right away. They allowed you to choose 6 tastings for the wine and 5 for the ciders. I tried all dry reds and 1 rose. We ordered flatbreads for the kids , cheese and veggie so they had something to do while my husband and I tasted. The flatbreads came out and to be honest, they were actually pizzas, not flatbreads. The wines were ok, but my husband enjoyed the ciders and the pours were very generous. He preferred the Firestorm (habanero) , Tsunami (pineapple), and Hurricane (cranberry infused) my favorite. It would've been nice to have talked to the staff and get more information regarding the wines, but they seated us. I preferred to have that intimate knowledge, being in the industry. Unsure if that was due to Covid or my kids, but when we first got there, no one was in there. Later, I watched other people standing there, it just seemed, they wanted me sitting at the table. The staff was very nice and helpful, they got very busy after we arrived so it must've been a very popular venue. Kids were welcome inside which always helps busy families.

Irish Haze

Places like Aftermath make me miss Northwest Indiana. I've been three or four times at this point because I love it so much. Every single time I'm pleased. I haven't had a bad cider here. Some of my favorites are Squall (pumpkin infused), Hoarfrost (maple infused), and Irish Haze (mint and lime infused). I say those are my favorites, but to be truthful, I'd happily drink a glass of any of their ciders. While Aftermath doesn't have a lot of food - mainly light dishes - the stuff they have is tres bien. Forget pineapple on pizza, pear on pizza is where it's at. I also love their antipasto plates - I'm a sucker for some good cheese. Even their employees are the best. They're super nice, and they ask questions about you. They also remember you if you come back from time to time, which is so sweet. I really, really love Aftermath and it's worth a trip if you're in the area. Honestly, it's worth a trip if you love cider. I have a Aftermath sized hole in my heart now that I have moved away. I plan to come back whenever I'm in NWI.

If I could give them 10/5 stars I would. Brevin (I hope I spelled it right) was so amazing very attentive and extremely helpful he definitely deserves a raise and promotion. Every week here they have new flavors to try and that I would say is my favorite part

Main room. 13 house made ciders! Ask unique and excellent.

A great 13 deep list of in-house ciders. 8 are seasonal. Also, flat bread pizza was excellent. I am a beer and cider snob. This place is wonderful.

Karaoke night with a hot spiced cider (the vortex)

Personally not a huge fan of mead but i really enjoyed the seasonal hot spiced cider we got. I'd like to try a flight next time, which seemed like a good price. Friday night crowd that night was a younger group who was killing it (in a good way) on karaoke. Card/board games were also available to borrow for a good time. Seems like your experience here is what you make of it.

What a nice surprise....the flavors of cider out of this world they change with the season so it a great reason to come back...the food selection fits the atmosphere perfectly. Found the staff to be very helpful

BBQ Chicken Flatbread

We love ciders and we have been wanting to give this place a try for the longest time! We finally were able to make it and we can't wait to go back! We tried 10 different ciders between the two of us! The cherry cider was my favorite. My husbands favorite was the pumpkin. We also tried their BBQ Chicken Flatbread and it's possible one of the best we've had! We are huge BBQ chix pizza fans, and the only thing that could have made it even better would be pineapples! Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Music, prices, selection, atmosphere were all great... disappointed to drink wine and do a tasting flight out of plastic cups though.

Good eats.

Avoid this place if you are searching for a reliable, open establishment…read more This is my 5th time trying to visit this place with a gift card I ordered 2 years ago. I call beforehand, look online, check their socials, and still they randomly are never open. I'm starting to wonder if it is a scam, and hope to get a refund on the giftcard I ordered for my dad and I. I understand things happen with being a family run operation, but frankly it comes off as unorganized & unprofessional. Other vendors and small business owners could be using this space in Michigan City, and it is rather a waste when others could be supporting the community on a more frequent, dependable basis. Please offer more transparency on this lack of consistency & remove the listed "business hours" entirely from both your website and Google maps when they are fairly often not honored. Wanted to support local and regret it due to the flexibility in their standard operating hours. For the goodness of your brand, and just state your hours are "open when we feel like it". Note: I took this photo while outside their door, with no note on it, no word or highlight on their website, Instagram, or Facebook mentioning a last minute closing on Saturday 10/19/24, around ~5:30pm. Thanks!

I rated this place 5 stars when it first opened. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. The owners attitude toward certain customers is sad.
