This winery location was our second stop of the day on my winery tour. I really like this spot as well and they had the name Anderson so I was like anything named Anderson like myself has to be amazing. It was a live leader crowd and we enjoyed it along with live music. This guy was amazing. He did some Michael Jackson. He did some country. He did some other well-known songs and it was a pleasant surprise. He had an amazing voice. I wish I could have called his name. For tastings were included and my favorite was the fuzzy peach. It was amazing and I had to save it to the last. And also I enjoyed the chocolate raspberry. That one was good. I think far as the tasting goals, the wines here tasted the best. It was really crowded so customer service I think could have been a little bit better here. But I understand it was kind of crowded so you really couldn't get a personal experience with the way staff because they were so busy. But it was okay again. I was my favorite out of the three wineries that we visited and we were having so much fun on our tour that one of the patrons flagged us down n the parking lot wanted to come on the tour with us.

Ok, so problem with this venue is the ambience is nice, so is the food and beer. Scratch a record, this is a winery. Didn't like the wine, out of 12 pours 2 will suffice. On the weekend is live entertainment, seems great, would like to return one day, until then adios! Btw, weather was Great,

Enjoy Anderson's year round. Nice wine selection, tasty food and cool cats! Walk the trails at Sunset Park and then Anderson's

We came here to do some wine tasting. We didn't really like most of what we tried, except the Raspberry Kiss. I have had it 1 other place & Andersons is the closest I have found to the other, so I bought a few bottles. Tip: when doing a wine tasting with raspberry kiss you should offer pieces of chocolate. That wine is meant to be drank with chocolate.

Great food choices and a large wine selection for sweet or dry wine drinkers. Variety of wine slushees as well. We also ate the BBQ chicken flatbread and the chicken nachos. Both were yummy. Very pretty outdoor area as well.

Anderson's winery is a hidden, under-discovered treasure of interesting and delicious wines. This photo is taken sitting in the pergola while sampling from a flight ($5). This winery has decisively chosen a diverse range of flavors, and offers discovery for even the most refined palates. The owners are friendly, accommodating, and truly appreciative of their customers. Not only was our Belgian Malinois allowed to accompany us in the outside area, they brought her water without us having to request it! If you enjoy dry reds and whites, this truly is the best Indiana has to offer in locally sourced wine. After meeting the new owner, the winery is branching out to create something completely different for Indiana.

My Chicago people, this winery is approximately 66 miles or so from Chicago, which only takes about an hour to 75 minutes in driving time. Nearby to this one is maybe three other wineries, it's worth a trip if your adventurous. Plus, don't be so quick to judge this area of Indiana, there is a lot of heart out here. First off, let's get passed the fact that this is Indiana and not California. DUH. Hey, Indiana-ites are trying and they have a few wineries in this territory to sample. Anderson winery has a number of wines which to my taste are mostly sweet wines, but not sweet like a late harvest or Welch's. They also carry some flavors that may appeal to the typical wine connoisseur and those that prefer a sharply sour taste (Blueberry - made from Indiana blueberries). Wine by the bottle runs for around $9.99 - $13.99 and then they carry a few higher ends like the Red estate a Merlot style for $15.99, Million bubbles millennium the 2000 Gold medal winner for sparkling wine $ 18.99 and a Porter County port $24.99. The winery offers free tours and if you do a group outing they can prepare the food (many food favorites are available) or you can have a picnic on their grounds. Check the website for more information. They also offer wagon rides, cellar tours, discussing wine making and have a country store with home made fudge, jams & jellies, bakery items and more. The market store is like any country market with its wood enthusiastic décor, chocked full of wine making kits and accessories, food stuffs, wine and all of the above mentioned. There is a wine sampling area where you can sit and enjoy a full glass of your choice, I think for purchase since tastings were served to us in "Sunday communion" type of cups. Ugh right? It was different. The website shows tastings in glasses, so I wonder if its a seasonal thing. When I made the communion reference to our host, she replied that many local churches come to them for their communion wine. I'm not sure how many wines we tasted; both of our hosts were sweet to talk to us and share about the winery. I had a sweet wine buzz working when our host suggested we try their sweetest, Orchard Cherry with a sample of their house made fudge. Sweet damn. Two bottles sold and a pound of fudge to compliment. Left with eight bottles and a nice bulk discount. Maybe when you go they may still have the bulk discount in place. Better hurry the season is changing.

I thought the wines were really bad. It seemed like 2 of the bottles had started to turn to vinegar.

Tasted like lime, too much and wasn't for me. But that's ok, the salmon is the best in valpo and the southwest chicken salad is fantastic! Not every meal is for everyone. The servers/bartenders we frequently see and know are Jordan, Adam and Abi. All are great at what they do and no matter how hectic things are, they are always welcoming, courteous and attentive. The drinks they serve are always consistently on point, no matter who is making them. That's a huge plus in my book. The only real negative I have about the place are the chairs at the bar. I get angular is ascetically pleasing to management, but to customers it's annoying and provides nothing but extra work. I have to move two chairs to sit down, how does that make any sense. Quit overthinking the chair alignment at the bar, I beg you. Of course it won't stop my wife and I from coming almost every week, but I truly hope one day I will walk in there and see the bar chairs straight and not angled. Anyways, if you want a place with great food, very clean, unbelievable workers and an ambiance unlike anywhere else is NWI, you will want to go here. Side note, if they could just add a steak to the menu that would make it perfect.

We stayed 2 days for a wedding the weekend after Memorial Day, and my first issue was that it was $212 a night in Valparaiso...to put in perspective, we paid less per night at the Sheraton in Niagara Falls with a Falls view for our honeymoon. They would NOT give me the wedding block price as the block had "sold out". I have never heard of this happening before. So I paid the $212 a night as all the other same level hotels were around the same price. I checked with the front desk on Saturday morning at 9:30am to make sure that we had the room turned over (clean sheets, towels, etc) and when I came back to the room at 3:30 in the afternoon, the room was not clean. I stopped at the desk to ask why and was told that 4 housekeepers had called off AFTER I'd talked to them. They told their housekeeping staff to only clean the rooms that people checked out of and then to go home. Only offered me 1k points, which doesn't do much for me as I don't travel often, so at that point, I asked for manager's email. Emailed the manager Melissa who promptly offered me the same points and no monetary compensation. I called IHG directly who essentially said they couldn't do anything since locations are franchised and they don't process payments. I emailed Melissa back again and pushed for compensation, but my email was ignored. This is not how you run a business or get people to return. For almost $500 for 2 nights w tax, I expect better.

We could of easily walked up and taken these items that were sitting waiting for a busy waitress to pick them up. One waitress made for terrible service. We went here for this year's Easter Brunch - what a disappointment! It started with the service - we were seated 10-15 minutes before anyone greeted us or brought us water. Our waitress was friendly, but her service was poor for the rest of the meal. As for the food - very average to even below average. For $27.00 a person, we would have expected a wonderful spread for a holiday brunch. There was nothing special about the food, and was pretty much lukewarm. When we went through the line the first time, there was no bacon, a few sausages, a few eggs (imitation, I think), and no potatoes. About 10 minutes later, potatoes were brought out, and about 5 minutes after that, the bacon...which was undercooked and slimy. On to the lunch part - small pieces of ham and beef, plain corn, California blend, plain lettuce in a bowl, and the same diced potatoes. Again, not what you expect for a $27.00 meal. The silver servers had such little food in them, that it was almost like you were afraid to take anything because the people behind you would have to wait forever for refills! Dessert - looked like store bought chocolate chip cookies, mini chocolate muffins (like at Costco), and flat store bought cheesecake slices. I was so embarrassed that our grown kids drove an hour+ for this unappetizing, mediocre, disappointing holiday brunch. Poor quality and poor service. I was going to give this review 2 stars, but I wrote a letter to the banquet center manager the same day, expressing our concerns and disappointment that cost us to waste $135.00. He didn't even have the courtesy of an apology and response. On a side note, Waterbird charges $16.95 for their regular Sunday brunch. This would have even been pushing it for the meal we had. I questioned the manager on what was different about the Easter Brunch, that prices were raised to $26.95??? Guess we'll never know. He evidently is not concerned about the low quality service and brunch that was served to guests on Easter!
