They're okay. I don't drink alcohol so that part is totally lost on me. Although my friend really enjoyed her glass of wine. We dined on a fairly warm day but we chose to sit outside because we did have a little boy with us and he wanted the opportunity to see the train should it pass by... and it did! The staff is super cool and super nice. The charcuterie board was delicious and worth every penny. The pizza was less impressive. And overpriced. The bathroom is clean. Major plus. My only complaint is... they had some customers who parked right next to the patio dining area. I understand they don't REALLY have control over that but... they do. They could've simply asked them to park in actual parking spots. We didn't say anything cuz we were done within the next half hour anyways but still. read more

And I am saddened that I was the designated driver today so I "forced" myself to not drink tonight. It was NOT easy. Anyways, here is the duplicate review: Quality/Quantity - Wow, some of the best pasta dishes I might have had in my life! My daughter found this place and changed our itinerary to an entirely different city... But I am so glad she did. The best part is she did NOT even know that this was in a winery! Too bad I am the designated driver and was not able to taste any of the wines. A simple menu done well. Kids' menus are also available. Daddy's Super Delicious Bread - Since this was our first time here, they gave us a complimentary "Daddy's Super Delicious Bread." Wow, what a great start! If you are following, I really like bread, but this was over the top. Good firm crust with a soft and warm inside. The sauce is 12 hours in the making. The cheese is also made in house. I can not even remember if I tried the olive oil, but I am sure it was good as well. I would/could order this as a meal next time, LOL. Short Rib Tortellini - My favorite of the dishes. The tortellini are SO huge! Good flavors, generous portions of short rib; you can taste and see the short ribs. The shaved asparagus was done perfectly, and I do NOT even like asparagus. Spaghetti & Meatballs - Generous portions; we actually could not finish this. Two meatballs, and most restaurants only give one. All pastas were cooked al dente. Sweet Potato Tortellini - Also done well, even more generous portions than the short rib tortellini. The short ribs are still my favorite. Honey Lavender Cheesecake - Very faint, light flavors as lavender usually is. Still very good, not too sweet. We actually ordered both desserts but canceled one at the end because we were so full. Other options are: salads, wine slushies, wine, and wine flights. Atmosphere - Two businesses in one...? A winery and a restaurant. I think the signage could have been clearer, but my daughter figured it out. Cool art throughout. Good size restaurant. Free Wi-Fi. Open 7 days a week but call to confirm hours because Yelp's hours differ. Plenty of private parking, which includes parking on the shaded grass. :) Most if not all locals here, so they know where to park, LOL. Service - The front of the house was great. We had many of the team members visit and check on us often. Is this a family run business...? 2 hour limit per table, but it did not apply tonight (Saturday) as it was not a full house, it was also raining today. The kitchen was WAY backed up or short staffed. We waited over an hour for our food, and they did not even have a full house. My suggestion is that you tell/give your customers a warning on how long it will take to get food. It was still worth the wait. And the complimentary Daddy's Super Delicious Bread really helped. My daughter ate 3 slices immediately. Price - $85 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success. It looks like you moved locations...? Only two suggestions, more outside signage to help us find you. And just give your guest a heads up on how long it would take the kitchen to make the food. read more

Finally was in the area and caught this place open, despite Yelp reporting it as closed on this day. Didn't get a chance to eat dinner as a result of that, but the venue smelled amazing and I hear the food is very good. Met a couple of people that work here, including Emily and the cook. They were ALL very conversational, friendly, and down to earth. It was nice to hear how the two companies united and when the wine and food began. Great venue, good people, tasty & reasonably priced wine and food. Now the lavender honey cheesecake, it leaves you speechless, it needs a category all by its self, lol. Looking forward to my return! I really wanted to like this place because it's close to home and had good reviews by friends. Well my husband and I went and the wine was amazing but the food turned me off. First inside my meal I found some kind of string. Sent my plate back and the waitress was very accommodating by giving me cake and gift certificate and even offered to make me something else. Then today I'm home and heat up my husband food and found some kind of wood inside of his food. What are the odds. I hate to leave back reviews but I have never experienced this and we are foodies and try new restaurants all the time. I will not return!!! Thanks but no thanks read more

Great place, great people, great atmosphere, great wine. Okay, the floor in the bathroom had a few scuff marks on it when I dropped in the other day, so it's not perfect. But it's like the Cheers of wineries. If you want to be left alone, no problem. If you feel like talking to friendly people, no problem. The staff knows wines totally and makes ordering easy for first timers. I hear tell that the food there is amazing, but being Italian, I'd much rather just drink dinner. And Mike, the owner, just brings it all home for visitors. You'll only be a stranger there once. You're the one who'll lose out if you don't give it a try. Thanks for reading . . . read more

My wife and I love this place. Their wine offering is wide and tasty. Plus their staff is always so knowledgeable and kind. As an added bonus they have high ceilings but have taken care with sound dampening. So it doesn't get overwhelmingly loud. I highly recommend checking this joint out. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It's close to home and on the way to all the amazing Valpo restaurants. Unfortunately, the wine is very blah. 0/7 of us liked what we ordered. Server did not offer suggestions or do anything other than take our order and drop the the wine or slushy off. It was a subpar experience but not worth a 1 star review. We moved on and had a great night celebrating my friend's bday. Then, hours later, the bday girl gets a message from an unidentified employee/manager/owner. The gist was a complaint that no one in our party of 7 tipped our server. We all paid her directly, separate bills and later discussed that everyone of us tipped her. Who has the balls to do that?! This place apparently. My friend brought in over a $100 in wine sales, we only stayed 1.5 hours and were very polite. Plus WE ALL TIPPED THE SERVER! My friend replied their must be a glitch because that is definitely not what what happened. She later got an apology type reply stating they should have verified the no tip accusation themselves before sending the message. That's my first and last time at the Lambstone Winery. Make better wine, don't message slander late Saturday evening to the bday girl and hire honest servers! read more

First off, I want to say that if it weren't for Albanos, this place probably would not have the business it does. Second, here's my story... I've been a long-time patron of this winery, in that I went to their events and even did an event there with my former side business. I went last night around 4 pm and did a tasting. I let the waitress know that five people would be joining me. We then had another person call to join us. We let the waitress know.. she was pretty accommodating. We were waiting for the last two people in our party to get there around 6pm, then were told by the owner that there was a two hour time limit and people waiting for our table and we needed to leave. Wait...what??? Nowhere does it specify this on their website. We were told reservations are not necessary and we had a table. There was also a huge empty table in the back with no one using it, plus several tables with kids that were there longer than us. Needless to say,we moved to another location that was happy to accommodate us. The waitress did give us a free bottle of wine, but that doesn't make up for a rude owner. We could have easily had a 300 dollar tab. Their loss. I won't be back. read more

The boyfriend and I went here for the first time on Saturday to kick off our anniversary festivities. The tasting room is nicely decorated - very welcoming and warm. I think I said "it is so cute in here" about 10 times. We were able to try most of the wine selections and liked them all. The best part though was the owner, who was so friendly and fun to talk to. There's a lot to discuss about this place. First the ambiance, the seating area is rustic and super nice. Very enjoyable for larger groups as well. Lambstone was very clean even though we've had snow for what seems like the last two weeks. The way in which you tasting choices are presented to you is really neat. We got the dry charcuterie plate and was it ever delicious. Their house made relish was delicious and I hope at some point the owners make this available to be bought separately. Being able to get some of that for a get together would be great! As for the staff, Shannon was our server and she was a blast. She had great knowledge of the wines and was just a pure joy to talk with. She does a great job working with many customers and helps point them in a direction if they are unsure of what they like. Now the wine, what I really like about these smaller wineries is you can taste the wine maker's passion for the craft. This is no exception here! The wine maker does work hard to ensure the quality of their wines. Great tasting wines with what seems like a low residual sugar. At least in the dry reds that is. Definitely going to be frequenting this spot from now on. read more
