Great service by the fellow working solo at this shop. Overall the meads were pretty good, less sugary than a lot of other mead places but I'm not well versed enough in meads to know if these were quality meads. I do know their flavors were spot on though. The apple pie mead had all the flavors of an apple pie in the best way possible. Same with the apple cider - it was possibly my favorite thing I had at this cute shop. I was so tempted to take a four pack home but didn't want to spoil my memory of this delicious cider read more

Misbeehavin' Meads - Flight mix of mead and cider - Meaderies Near Me - Valparaiso, Indiana

My first time trying Mead from this cute little shop in downtown Valparaiso. I love the creativity and how well the menu eloquently describes all the meads and ciders that are available. The title of the shop by itself was so creative too. I loved everything about this place. The service, and the staff was absolutely fantastic. We did 2 flights and was able to try most of the meads and ciders on the menu. A flight of 4 will run you about $14-15. And you can purchase bottles to take home which I did. This is definitely a fun place to hang out with some friends after dinner to enjoy sipping on some mead which was really well made and you can taste the natural flavors. Overall this place made a great impression on me and would highly recommend if ever visiting Valparaiso! read more

We first met these people out at an event at Taltree. Super nice and just starting out. We loved their meads & had to try more. We went in one afternoon to a tastefully decorated shop. Up at the bar we went over the list of meads & started out with a flight of everything we hadn't tried yet. My personal favorite is the Orange Blossom. If you like light and sweet, you will like this. If you like a more dry and tart drink, try the blackberry. It's really good & not so tart you pucker up. Just right. You can sit inside or out. We sat outside at first. Cute tables with bright yellow umbrellas in the downtown district. We moved inside as it was a very hot day. There we ordered 13 oz. glasses of meads & sat at a table. If you've never tried meads, don't be afraid. There are so many kinds and something for everyone's tastebuds. I can't wait to go back. read more

Cute little meadery located just off the square in downtown Valpo. It peaked my interests so I decided to stop it and try a flight of mead. The employees were very nice and chatted with me a bit. They make the mead right downstairs. I enjoyed all of them except the buckwheat which was too biter for my taste. It was basically empty when I went but I hear it gets busy after dinner time. Also, Wednesday's is board game night, bring a game and hang out with some mead! read more

Ignore the negative reviews. I am giggling at some of the aforementioned. A mead is a strange, exotic beverage. It can range in sweetness and flavor, but it is ever delicious. I love the idea of such an fun, different place in a small town. We were visiting on our honeymoon. The owner was fantastic. I love the aesthetic and did divulge in purchasing some merch. Actually, the owner gave us two free add ons to our flights after talking to us about our interests. Lovely experience!!! read more

Misbeehavin' Meads - A flight. - Meaderies Near Me - Valparaiso, Indiana

What a gem in Valpo! They have both hard cider and mead (honey wines). The flights are the way to go if you want to try lots of things. Some of their mead was sweet and some was drier. The buckwheat mead should be drank whilst smoking a cigar in a room of rich mahogany. They had a carbonated orange blossom mead with hops that was killer. The owners are super nice and fun to hang out with. I just wish I lived closer..... There's something for everyone here. read more

Misbeehavin' Meads - A meadists dream. The OB Mead was my fave. - Meaderies Near Me - Valparaiso, Indiana

We had such a fun time learning about meads from Clint. Loved that his tasting room was kid friendly. Really enjoyed the distinct taste of each mead and the detail with which he explained the ingredients. My favorites were the strawberry and orange blossom. He had really unique flavors like a coconut coffee mead. We're from out of town and Clint was also very helpful in pointing out local attractions. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're visiting the Indiana Dunes area. read more

Excellent rotating selection of high quality meads. Traditional, fruited and dessert meads on draft. Bottles/Merch available at reasonable prices. Great open space with lots of tables. Recommend. read more

Who knew such a small town could have something with such big and amazing flavors. The lay out is really cool. Its bright, clean and playful. The huge chalkboard menu is a fun add on. The rope beams in the middle are an eye catcher. They had 5 drinks on when I visited. A cider and four meads. The cider was a little tart and dry, very drinkable. A flight of four mead was the way to start as I got to try everything and then order more of what I loved. The gooseberry foole was amazing. I had two pours. They go down too easily for the abv. The prices were amazing, you can a nice buzz on for a reasonable price. Service was quick, friendly, and knowledgable. Come the summer this place is going to be packed, visit now and snag a membership otherwise you will not be able to get some of their stuff. I'll be back. read more

Well, not for me. Meads were sickening sweet. Fermentation stopped way too soon. This is a great place for people who like to drink their dessert. Bartender was cool. read more

I've lived in Chicago, Denver, and St. Louis and this place has the best mead I've ever had hands down. It's perfect for wine lovers too as a lot of their product have similar qualities of wine but with a wider range of flavors. In fact, this place was so good that it inspired me to make my own mead. I visit everytime I'm in town and I recommend you do the same. read more

There are always new and delicious selections. Try the March to buzz. Great staff and fun atmosphere. No food, but you can bring in.

Great service. Didn't get much information but we also didn't ask. The tasting was reasonably priced and everything tasted great! Bought a bottle of Berry the Dead! That was by far my favorite read more

This was a big disappointment for me and my daughter. I was introduced to mead in Ireland and was looking forward to enjoying the sweet honey wine that should be mead. We had 2 different flights of the local offerings and did not find an acceptable choice in any of them. If a wine is honey based it should be sweet not the dry wines we sampled. The atmosphere is very good in this establishment and the prices are reasonable. If you are a dry wine fan, this is a definite recommend for you. read more

Sweet, dry, earthy. This mead is true to style. And they have such a range. You can get whatever you want. The atmosphere is relaxed. The music is cool. The bartenders are knowledgeable but stay out of your way. Step up to the bar and get yourself a delicious honey wine. read more

I wish I had the experience everyone else talked about...Maybe they were just off their game when I went? I ordered the flight and, knowing from experience (my brother owns a meadery), the odor and visual indicators were completely off. I understand mead is the oldest alcoholic beverage on Earth, and um, Misbeehavin' Meads' batch certainly tasted like theirs exceeded that standing. Against my better judgment, I finished them, and I'll just say that I was left with a raucous stomach ache later. Visually speaking, the atmosphere was inviting at first blush, but the more I looked around, it felt like it was furnished and laid out by a dilettante. It all reminded me a little too much of the clearance section at Pier 1, which isn't really in line with the whole "drink of the Gods" and countless references in classic literature theme. But I get it...small town, big dreams for a meadery! Decor, I can forgive, but the real trifecta here was subpar mead, bad decor, and lackluster service. There was a churlish woman hovering in the back and when a male employee (or owner?) asked her to help him out with my order, she was so visibly annoyed with him, and me to only a slightly lesser extent, the entire rest of my time there. It goes without saying that in this niche market, you've gotta have customer service provided by someone who isn't sullen and unapproachable. Godspeed, Misbeehavin' Meads. read more
