Super yummy and fun place to dine if you're in the area. The food was fresh and really good! The portions were large and a great value. I would recommend sharing a dish. We can't wait to go again! read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Seated quickly by a guy who was super nonchalant at the best and then told that a waiter would be with me. Waited upwards of 25 minutes and no one came by my table so I left. It's a shame. The food looked like it could be good, but extremely poor customer service. Makes spending upwards of $17 on an omelette not worth the money at all read more

Unfortunate choice. New to Kent and so far I have enjoyed the small sushi place just a block or so west on Gowe, have walked past this Wild Wheat and noticed the nice looking dining room. Today I went in for lunch. I had a Rueben sandwich (with corned beef) that came with a bowl of soup for 14.50. I chose cream of zucchini soup to go with the meat sandwich. First thing I noticed about the sandwich was that it was made with three pieces of bread, the third slice laid in to make a double decker. Ok. When I picked one side of the sandwich the bread partly crumbled and some of the filling and bread fell onto the table. Server passing by asked should he bring extra napkins. Sure. First bite tasted very strange indeed. Intensely sweet sauerkraut? Really? Yep. Awful. The meat was ok. Nothing special. The sandwich flavor was entirely the sweetened kraut. The meat had been bunched in the middle before slicing to give the impression of a generous portion. It was just an average size sandwich with an extra slice of bread. In this instance the less filling the better. The meat was bland. If there was any flavor in either the bread or the meat it was overwhelmed by the sweet kraut. The soup had a nice consistency but was tasteless. People I've met in Kent tell me that this is a favorite place. Maybe I'll try it again. But there's a good mom and pop Mexican place (el Incapaz) on Meeker. Try the Wild Wheat Avoid the sandwiches with kraut. read more

Popped in after an appointment nearby. Grabbed a cinnamon roll--or what I assumed was supposed to be a cinnamon roll. It was hard, dry and flavorless. Even the icing fell off. I'm new to Kent, and the place seemed like a delightful new discovery. After my experience, and the mixed reviews here, I won't be returning. read more

Normally I love this place. I've come here for years and have never been disappointed. The service and staff are amazing and the food is delicious. But today I came in with my friend for breakfast and it was so loud that we had to leave. We couldn't hear what the hostess or server was saying because the construction noise on the roof was so loud. I definitely won't be back till the work is complete! read more

Visiting from Anchorage, we found this little gem on google maps. The service was fast everything was clean, food is good. I really liked this little cafe. My husband subbed peppers for potatoes with his omelet no problem. Coffee was freshened several times. We'll be back. read more

I finally had the chance to try this place out after hearing how great it is. Well I must say it was huge disappointed my food was cold. My server was horrible never once she checked on me. I would understand if was busy but there were only 4 tables occupied. read more

The food is delicious (best eggs benedict ever), but the service is terrible. I have been there at least a dozen times for breakfast and lunch and have had service ranging from poor to downright awful: wrong items, forgotten items, slow to take order, slow to put order in with kitchen, left items on counter and we had to go grab them ourselves, waited 45 minutes for a salad, waited 30 minutes for our water/beverages, meals came at vastly different times for people in party, can't get wait person's attention to address aforementioned issues. I will try take-out next time, but if the service is as bad for that, I will not give them my business again. read more

Maybe I went on an off day I don't know. I was in the mood for a really good omelet, that and I read all the reviews about this restaurant. I wanted some fresh garden flavors with some good meat. I thought it was very hopeful that I would get a good breakfast however I was disappointed. My toast was cold, my omelet was 18 dollars, and im sorry to say it had a strange flavor. I did NOT enjoy. the bacon is greasy an undercooked and over smoked just all around bad They charge for maple syrup because they say its REAL maple syryp, but the the butter they bring you is nearly frozen, and individually wrapped. No consistency! What makes matters worse is I came here with my father. He didn't want to go here because he said we would have a bad experience. I told him he was just being negative and that we should try it with an open mind. Turns out the restaurant made me eat my own words. I don't think this place is very good read more

We love this place. Great breakfast. Great lunch. Good service. The salmon tostada is really good, but I think everything is good. Definitely check it out. read more

Usually great food and service. Greeter rudely told us the kitchen was closing in 3 minutes at 2:12pm even though posted closing time was 2:30pm. Quiche was good but home fries reheated; not fresh. The strawberry garnish was slightly moldy. Throughout the meal was mariachi music blasting away while the kitchen help were yelling at each other on top of the music. read more

Great food and service, but too noisy at busy times. Love it when it's a quiet time!

Such a cute places in such an unsuspecting part of Kent. Besides the fact that it closes so early I have so many nice things to say! They have a big breakfast many with many options whether you're trying to be healthy or go all out. read more

Really great breakfast/brunch place! It is a low key place in down town Kent. They sell bakery goods, desserts, cakes etc. Went there once for lunch and really enjoyed the experience. I recommend the locals to give it a try! read more

Was wondering why this place was empty on a Saturday afternoon...food is extremely overpriced and not very good at all. Caesar dressing tasted funky and $10 half sandwich consisted of turkey, tomato, lettuce, and crappy cranberry aioli m. Never again read more

Great place. I had the eggs Benedict and my wife had a ham and cheese omelet. The hollandaise had a little to much lemon flavor but was not to bad and my wife loved the omelet. The place was full but the service was great. We have found a new great breakfast place. read more

5/23 9:45am Eggs Benedict. One of the eggs was the consistency of a hard boiled egg. The other had some liquid yoke, was just overdone, not dead. I ate them both, along with the ham and the bread they were sitting on. The small pile of home fries were red-skinned grilled spuds. They were black, dry, even had black soot on them. Those I picked through and finally gave up. (This is the first bad review I've ever submitted. I am 54 years old. That's how bad it was. First review on Yelp, signed up to submit this. Have only done a couple reviews ever. I think one was for Joes Cable Car burger joint in San Fran, and one for a BBQ joint in South Carolina that had billboards posted along I-26. Maurice's, I think. Best pork ribs I ever had, basted with a mustard-based sauce!) It was horrible. A joke it was so bad. That's why I didn't send it back, which honestly, I can't remember the last time I did send anything back. I just chow down and go, I am not a picky eater, trust me. How could they set it in front of me? The drip coffee? It was just super. Very, very good. $17.27 !! No offer to make it right. Sending it back would have been the right move, I guess..... read more

The food is good--I got the tandoori chicken sandwich and it came with soup (or a salad; admittedly, the turkey soup was bland). Prices are a bit high but portions are good. I can't recommend the atmosphere though--too many tables packed in tightly makes this place loud and somewhat uncomfortable. They could use more staff for the number of tables they have but the food is worth the wait if you're not developing a headache from all the noise. read more

Tried this place for the first time. It was everything good. The price was fair. Everything was on the healthier side. I enjoyed the food. Plenty of street parking. Friendly waiters. I would come again. read more

we went for breakfast, they took a long time to even bring us water to the table. When the food came my gf had bugs on her plate under her pancakes we counted 5 ewwww. high priced, and the manager never came over to check on us. no worries we will never be back. read more

I'm am constantly searching for a quality breakfast place and having heard positive reviews about Wild Wheat, I finally tried it out today. Not sure if this was a bad day, but there was nothing impressive about this restaurant. Our server was not pleasant, the food was mediocre at best, and the coffee way over priced. Many other quality restaurants near by, so pass this one up! read more

I love this place. I gave it a 4 star because I wish the breakfast hours were longer. Smoked Salmon Omelet and a Mocha. I am in heaven. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Plus my 5 year old son loves to see the trains go by. read more

Fabulous baked goods, friendly staff. The breads are wonderful, and so are the cakes and cookies.

A breakfast place run by a master baker, what a concept. Pretty and spacious, good service and not a bad item on the menu. Try the Stollen French Toast; it's amazing. The house smoked salmon is superb. read more

My favorite place for homemade soup, great sandwiches and bakery, you gotta try this place!

I was sick so ordered bowl of soup to go for 9.50. I got home and found out soup is size of small cup that little bigger than half of 12 oz can of pop, really salty, and tiny one piece of chicken that size of half of pinky finger. read more

Visited for the first time today with my husband and 2 kids. This was down right the best breakfast we have ever had! The tastiest flavors in every bite! I wanted to take the in house jam home! And of course the breads where amazing! We will visit again! read more

Oh Wild Wheat...I wanted to love you. I drive past you almost every day and you just looked so cute and inviting. Im not much of a breakfast eater but my 19 year old son loves it. So much so that when I woke him up early on a Sunday and mentioned going to get breakfast he smiled with his eyes still closed! We walked in about 8:30 and were seated right away. I knew what I was getting after reading all the Yelp reviews, eggs benedict! It's the one breakfast meal I have a weakness for. My son prefers a little country in his breakfast and was hugely disappointed there was no chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy or just a hash even. He settled on pancakes and bacon. Prices are on the high side for breakfast, eggs benedict is $13+ his 3 pancakes and couple pieces of bacon was $8+ and his glass of oj was about $3.50. Now I am the last person who will mind paying more for anything if its good. Food comes and I cant wait to dig in to what was described by previous yelpers as the best eggs benedict they've ever had! My first bite was egg, bread, ham and hollandaise. Hmmmm....maybe it just needs a little salt I say to myself to really make the flavor pop. So a little salt was added and another bite taken. Wow, I realize...this eggs benedict is really just undewhelming. Period. Its super lemony but not super savory and delicious. Bummer. Big eggs benedict let down for someone who is rarely disappointed by this dish. The Sunbreak in Auburn, phenomenal eggs benedict for the same price maybe less and crazy good potatoes and huge portions. The potatoes at Wild Wheat were ok. Not bad, not special. My 19 year old son ate one pancake and his bacon. Two pancakes untouched. That has literally NEVER happened with him before. I asked if he wanted to order something else and he said, no thanks. Knew right then that this breakfast was a fail for us. The food was just slightly below ok. We arent picky eaters, dont have impossibly high standards and arent easily disappointed. So this is just an honest review of our food experience. The atmosphere was cute enough minus the creepy dust/mold coming out of the vents on the ceiling and covering the beams. Service was the one bright spot here. The hostess who seated us was super sweet and friendly. The waitress was also very friendly. So for service A+, definitely! For food however we will definitely stick to other places. Sorry Wild Wheat, I really thought I would love you... read more

some of the best eggs benny i have ever had... awesome! awesome! awesome! i live in qheen anne and i'll still make the drive if i am really really craving. lunch is amazing as well- how can i not be with all the bread being made in house? rye bread off the damn charts. don't miss the ruben- i know it sounds like a simple things, but when it's done right, it's amazing. worth the wait if their is one. read more

I went to this place around 10 am with my fiance. We got seated promptly when we got there by the busser. There was 3 servers from what I counted. We got our order taken care of in a timely matter our food came out pretty quick! Unfortunately we saw our server only 3 times(Skinny brunet dressed in black). Once when she took the order. Second time when we just received our food. And third when we asked for the check. I placed my credit card in the checkbook and she never picked it up. I had to ask this guy next to me if he's been here before and what are the procedures to pay. So after waiting about 10 minutes I went up and paid my receipt. Gave her 15 percent tip which she did not deserve. But I am not cheap or would stoop that low. 50$ lesson not to listen to friends that this place was great. I think it's because we look young, that's why we got treated this way . My opinion of course. We ordered blueberry pancakes ,side of eggs, and a side of bacon. Pancakes where so dry we both looked and smiled because we there for that reason. Very disappointing to say the least. So we ate our eggs and Bacon. They were so good but we were starving LOL. Final verdict I might stop by there again that's a huge might! read more

Family friendly place. Great fast, attentive service. Eggs Florentine was delicious-could have used a bit more hollandaise. Person at the front counter was a bit confused about the pie selections. Cherry pie crust was too thick-filling was yummy. read more

This place is delicious for both breakfast and lunch. The hazelnut currant bread is amazing - you have to try it if you go here for breakfast. My only complaint is that breakfast is a little pricey, especially if you choose to build your own omelet - the ingredients add up quickly! read more

One of the best hollandaise sauces I've ever had on my eggs benedict, the quiche is heavenly, and they have great preserves and breads. Only a few nit picky things.... Drip coffee is $2.25, more expensive than soda? My poached eggs were a little over cooked, not runny. And I echo another helper that the knives are crap, had trouble cutting through toast! Other than that very pleased, will be back. read more

Despite the fact that it was totally packed, it didn't take forever to get our food which was really great. Speaking of our food, it was tasty as well and rather affordable (I think I spent about $8 for my french toast). I can see why this place stays so busy. I'll definitely be back! read more

The 4 stars is for their breakfast, pastries, & bread. This place is packed on a Saturday morning, but the wait usually isn't too long. The stollen french toast was unique but definitely worth a taste. Awesome selection of pastries & breads. The lunch was ok, but not that special. Go for breakfast/brunch. And take some bread home for yummy sandwiches. read more

So this is a mixed review, my sister and I love coming here for breakfast. Its our weekly go for breakfast. Wonderful potatoes, toast eggs and coffee :) pancakes are to die for but the other day we decided to bring some relatives over because we had bragged so much about them. We got there a little after 11am and were informed lunch was just being served and we were pleasantly suprised because we had never tried wild wheats lunch. We all ordered something completely different which was nice because it would give us a chance to see how everything was. Mind you there were five of us all together. Out of the five of us four of our meals were horrible. And I mean horrible. Two of us got dishes with their house smoked chicken and it was completely inedible, almost chicken jerky like. Unfortunately one of the chicken dishes which was a sandwich had bones in it and became inedible completely. The wait staff was cool about it and offered a discount and to wrap it all up for us but by that point we just wanted to go. BREAKFAST = GREAT. LUNCH = NOT SO MUCH read more
