Wild Scoops is a true Anchorage gem, and I'm so glad we made it a priority during our October 2025 trip! This locally loved ice cream shop focuses on making small-batches, handcrafted flavors made with Alaskan ingredients--and it absolutely shows. We ordered two scoops in their signature Baked Alaskan cone, which comes topped with marshmallow fluff and lightly torched. I mean how can you not get the Baked Alaskan in Alaska right? We tried these available flavors at the time: *Wild Blueberry: Made with real wild Alaskan blueberries, this flavor was incredible--creamy with the perfect balance of sweetness and tart, berry brightness. *Tiger Treat: A swirl of Thai tea and black vanilla ice cream. Smooth and also not too sweet . My favorite was the wild blueberry!!! I love supporting local ice cream parlors that pour so much heart into their craft, and Wild Scoops delivers on every level. If you're in Anchorage, don't miss it--this place is worth the stop!

Finally got to visit Wild Scoops! This place stays busy but all staff work together seamlessly to keep their lines moving. The atmosphere is bright and warm despite them selling frozen goods. Wild Scoops has seasonal/rotating flavors. I believe if you visit often enough you may start to memorize their rotating flavors. Unfortunately, I cannot give 5 stars as I came specifically to try a Filipino dessert collab that was advertised to come with WildScoops Filipino flavored ice creams. For some odd reason, Wild Scoops did not make their Filipino flavored ice creams available when we came...disappointing. Despite this, what me and my girls were able to try, was fantastic. I believe we had vanilla bean and a few baked Alaska's. We can't wait to visit again.

Wild Scoops has a range of local / random amazing ice cream flavors to try (you're able to test whichever flavors you want), friendly staff, an open seating area, and plays classic rock music! I'll be back.

We visited Wild Scoops on a Thursday afternoon and were greeted with a line out the door - and the entire time we were there, the line never shrunk! Single ($5.25) - This includes a single scoop of ice cream in a small 4oz cup. It honestly looks kid sized! I guess a good portion for people calorie counting? For the ice cream, we went with the AK Birch Almond. This ice cream has a delightfully strong sweet and nutty almond flavor. The texture is a bit stretchy and gummy, fluffy but rich. I feel like they use a bit more gum stabilizers than some other artisan shops which gives the stretchy quality. I have not had birch syrup but I've had birch water and love the sweet mineral flavor. I'm not sure that it really comes out much since the toasted almond flavor is so strong. (4/5) We also sampled two flavors which we've never had before: Fireweed, which is sweet, floral, and a bit fruity, and Spruce Tip, which I can't really describe the taste of. I expected it to taste kind of like cedar jelly, so like the essence of pine needles, but it was totally different. PS: the pantry items they have near the front of the store are actually pretty good value. We were looking for Birch caramels and they had the 6oz bag for $13. The more touristy stores were selling it for $20. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

I'd heard the buzz about this ice cream spot, so I had to see what the fuss was about. I rolled up around 9 PM--an hour before closing--and the line was already out the door. That's when I thought, okay, this has to be good. I'd seen a few videos hyping up their signature toasted cream topping, so I knew that was a must. Inside, the vibe was warm and welcoming, with a spread of unique flavors--even options for the lactose-intolerant crowd. One thing that stood out? They offer metal spoons for sampling instead of plastic ones. A small touch, but very cool and sustainable. The place has a good amount of seating inside and a bench outside, but judging by the crowd, snagging a seat on a busy day might take some luck. Now, the star of the show: the ice cream. I went with Redoubt's Revenge--a spicy chocolate flavor that totally surprised me. Smooth, rich, and with just the right amount of heat. Think Mexican hot chocolate in frozen form. I paired it with their Baked Alaskan Cone, and wow... talk about next-level. The toasted marshmallow cream on top was everything--lightly sweet, perfectly browned, and such a fun twist. I only wish I had one more day to go back. But until then, I'll be dreaming of that spicy scoop under that golden toasted cloud.

I found Wild Scoops on a whim and decided to visit after my last day living in Anchorage for 2 months. And let me tell you, I am SO upset that I found out about this place later on because I'm now sitting in the lower 48, wondering how I can find something equivalent! The line was out the door despite it being a snowy day and I was there for ~40 minutes, the line was very consistent! I wanted to sample all the ice cream, the flavors were so unique! My favorite part is that they have actual vegan ice cream and not just sorbets. The vegan ice creams are made with oat milk and as a lactose intolerant, I am so grateful! I went a little all out. I started with one scoop, got back in line for another and then bought a tub to go :P Do yourself a favor and get the toasted marshmallow fluff on top~ This Pretty Planet 5/5 * I expected this to be floral given the description but it's so light with a great addition of the cookies Matchaberry Swirl (Vegan) 5/5 * Literally went back to buy a tub of this, it's such a great mix of matcha and berry which both stand out without overpowering the other. Did I mention it's vegan too?!?! Highly recommend if it's in the rotation!

Wow this place is popular. The line was long on a Wednesday afternoon. My husband and I split the ice cream "nachos." It comes with 3 kids scoops, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, and waffle cone chips. My favorite flavor was the buttermilk blueberry! So good! We also had the chocolate and the white raven (Oreos in a sweet cream base). The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate syrup. It tasted very dark like raw cocoa powder or something. I would leave it off if we got this again.

Coconut ice cream with all the fixings including sago, peanuts, and many others with various textures. Nice staff. Fun atmosphere inside despite a raining afternoon outside.

I got the vegan rhubarb crumble and it was incredible. I even sampled a lot of the other ice cream flavors and this was still my. preference. I was told I had to try with the baked Alaska topper so naturally, I got that. Oh my gosh I would come here every day if I lived here. This was some of the best ice cream I've had in a while, I was also told the cone was house-made so this completely exceeded my expectations.

This ice cream shop had a line out the door and around the sidewalk, but as it was recommended by multiple people to us we decided to wait in line to see what the hype was about, and we were not disappointed! There were so many unique flavors of ice cream, and you can tell the ice cream is locally made and high quality. As many other reviewers have said, get the waffle cone and get the baked Alaska marshmallow topping! Both were delicious and added to the uniqueness of the spot. There is limited seating inside and outside so don't count on getting a spot, but good ice cream is good ice cream whether eaten in the store or in your car so don't let that stop you from coming here to try this place out!

Small cute little ice cream shop with excellent service. Original flavors that change periodically. So good!

Taiyaki is a delicious Japanese street food. A fish shaped pastry stuffed with filling like read…read morebean paste & custard. In the warmer months the taiyaki are also stuffed with soft serve ice cream. This street food has become popular in the USA with dedicated taiyaki ice cream spots popping up, and we finally have a shop in Alaska that serves this delectable treat. Softer opened at the end of December in the Diamond center food court. I went to check them out in February, and the taiyaki were fresh, crispy, and had a decent amount of filling. Now the taiyaki wasn't the same consistency as the ones I had in Japan, but it's not really fair to compare things in Alaska to their country of origin. The texture wasn't 100% correct, but it was pretty nicely crispy, and not overly chewy. I had heard from a few other people that when they went the texture wasn't correct & too chewy so consistency may be a bit of an issue, but they are a new business to that can be rectified. The soft serve ice cream was also very good. I ordered 2 "upside down" Taiyaki ice creams which comes with choice of 2 toppings. You can just order a Taiyaki filled with ice cream which doesn't come on a cup, or the Taiyaki pastry on its own without ice cream. If you're not feeling the Taiyaki you can also just get the soft serve ice cream, a milkshake, or a snow bowl (this looks like a variation of bingsu). I ordered chocolate soft serve with a Nutella filled Taiyaki topped with sprinkles, and a matcha/chocolate swirl soft serve with an ube filled Taiyaki topped with Oreo & graham cracker crumbs. The portion size on the soft serve was good for the price ($7). The chocolate ice cream was standard chocolate soft serve, but I really liked the Nutella taiyaki. The matcha ice cream actually had a strong, and not overly artificial matcha tea flavor. Next time I won't get it swirled with chocolate as the chocolate overpowered the matcha. I don't know if I'd get the ube filled taiyaki again. The ube filling was pretty artificial so it's not my preference. The toppings were also fairly sparse, but that doesn't really matter to me. Overall it's a great treat. Service was quick when we went. There was no line, and you just order at a kiosk & the person makes what you order. It's located right in the mall food court by the ice rink so if you're looking for ambiance it's not really going to be this place. I definitely will be back to get some Taiyaki ice cream again, and maybe try their snow bowls. Excited to have something different in Anchorage! This place is definitely a good spot next time you want some soft serve ice cream.
