The resort is clean and quiet, and every spot can fit a full class A motor home, so there is no worrying that they might not have a spot to accommodate your rig. The resort had a large pool, tiki bar, office with a pool table, ping pong, games, and an exercise room. Unfortunately, the hot tub was out of order during our stay. Everything else seemed to be in good working order. I thought it was really convenient that they will pick up your trash as long as you set it by the street by 10 am. Rating from F to A +++. I give it an A+++.

WhimCycle has an entrance that is conveniently located on the campground with access to Santos :) LOVE this! We have a tent trailer with a pop-up tent, we did experience noise from the main road (traffic, dump truck, blow horns) However if you are in an RV, the noise shouldn't be bothersome =D There is one outdoor shower with hot water for those cold days. All sites are set up with water, sewer and electric hook ups. This is a pet friendly location. Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash and pick up after them. There is also a station with poop bags. In the center area of the campground WhimCycle does offer firewood already cut for $1 per piece. There is a box next to the firewood where you can drop in the cash (please note this is an honor system).

A great place to start your adventure and exploration of the Prarie…read more I recently stopped by the Payne's Prairie Preserve State Park Visitor Center in Micanopy, Florida, and it was a fantastic experience! Yes, you do pay the $6 per vehicle entrance fee to enter the state park, and it's a bit of a drive from the main gate along the park road to reach the parking lot. From there, you walk a short distance to the center itself. But once you arrive, it's absolutely worth it. The Visitor Center is very nice and modern building with large floor-to-ceiling windows directly across from teh entrance offering great views of the prairie itself. The staff, specifically Brad, was very helpful, The sets of displays provide an good overview of the prairie's natural and cultural history through interactive exhibits. There is also a short film in the theater room about the location. I really liked the observation area and spotting scopes. One scope was perfectly trained on a bald eagle perched about two miles away. I thought that was an incredible sight! It made the whole prairie feel alive and gave us a real sense of the wildlife that calls this special place home (wild horses and bison live here too). There is a small gift shop, restrooms, and the building provides easy access to trails and an observation tower nearby. It's a perfect starting point to understand and appreciate this unique place. If you're in the Gainesville area, make time for Payne's Prairie. The Visitor Center is a hidden gem that turns a simple stop into a memorable visit. I highly recommended it.

The drive in and to the visitor center is so pretty! The trees make a nice, shady canopy. You can see various animals from the observation tower, open range or hiking. It was late afternoon and hot when we were there so we didn't see much (one deer!) and I'm sure the animals were in the shade somewhere.

I want to start off by saying we did not stay here but wanted to check it out for future options after seeing it advertised in several RV publications, after speaking with the staff at the registration center and given permission to explore the property I think I have a clear understanding of this beautiful RV Park. Let's start at the RV Check-in and Registration Center which is located inside the beautiful and spacious general store - the entire staff here was very friendly and accommodating and the general store is very clean and has a little bit of everything including ready to eat meals and a nice selection of wines. In the same building with separate entrances are spacious restrooms complete with showers and dressing areas that are all immaculate and modern - next is a beautiful laundromat that is amazing and spacious and a golf cart rental center. Once you've checked in there are wide paved streets lined with level back-in concrete pads all with full hookups and beautiful landscaping across the property. Now for something I've never seen at a RV Park - a gasoline and diesel fueling station with multiple pumps and all under a tall canopy, it's self-service so only pay at the pump. I actually filled my F-150 for $3.20 a gallon for regular which is only a few pennies more than the stations in the area and a great and rare amenity. I think this is a beautiful RV Park although it's a destination and what I mean by that is if you're here for a horse event or a overnight stay this is perfect but as far as atmosphere it kinda boring with little to no shade but was clearly designed to accommodate those here for events at the World Equestrian Center and not a vacation resort by any means and likely the reason it mostly empty when there aren't any events scheduled. I'm am really glad I came here to check out this beautiful property but it's probably not a place I'd stay since I don't have much interest in equestrian events - if you're attending events here it's a five star venue, for me because it's so tied into everything equestrian and I'd probably only do an over stay overnight while driving to my final destination I'll give it 4 stars...

She was very patient, helpful and answered all of our many questions. Her directions are great to avoid traffic. When we got to the park, she immediately put her mask on to help us. There is a big sign saying everyone MUST wear a mask! We were given a site and someone showed us to our site. The sites are just lawn with a pedestal for power, water and sewer. We are glad someone showed us where our site was because they're a bit hard to find. Roads are gravel but not bumpy. The park is right along the freeway so you do have some freeway noise but it's easy in and out which makes it nice for overnighters. We would stay here again. It is a bit rustic but we like that and how easy it is to get to the park and back on the road. There are gas stations as you get off the freeway for easy fuel ups if you need it.

I can tell you that the owners of the property really do care about this place. I've seen the improvements that have been put in over the decades while maintaining the charm and easygoing lifestyle. The facilities are well kept and the people that work here really do care about the property. It's safe, clean and well kept. This includes both sides of the park. 'Bout the rowdiest this place seems get is maybe a crowd singing and dancing in the pavilion down by the campgrounds on a Friday night. Aside from that (which is no biggie,) the place has a nice, slow easy going feel. A word to the wise however, the place does fill during the winter months with your snowbirds, even then however it doesn't lose its charm.
