When we arrived (4:00p), the office was closed and there was no paperwork on their late arrival board for us. I finally found a young man employed by the park, who was actually talking on the phone with the manager. He was able to advise me to check our email confirmation for our site number. Fortunately, it was there. When we got set up on our tiny space, it dawned on us we did not have any paperwork showing the internet password or the codes to the restrooms or pool. I left 2 more messages for the office, as it was still closed. I never heard anything back from them. Definitely will not be staying there again.

A gated entrance. We were super grateful to have been escorted to our site as the streets are narrow and turns tight. It was quiet and comfortable. We had a pull thru site and it did have a picnic table. We didn't use their wifi so can't comment on that. There's a restaurant on site but we arrived late and they were closing. The grounds looked nice. If in the area we would stay there again. We camped in a class A with a tow.

WhimCycle has an entrance that is conveniently located on the campground with access to Santos :) LOVE this! We have a tent trailer with a pop-up tent, we did experience noise from the main road (traffic, dump truck, blow horns) However if you are in an RV, the noise shouldn't be bothersome =D There is one outdoor shower with hot water for those cold days. All sites are set up with water, sewer and electric hook ups. This is a pet friendly location. Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash and pick up after them. There is also a station with poop bags. In the center area of the campground WhimCycle does offer firewood already cut for $1 per piece. There is a box next to the firewood where you can drop in the cash (please note this is an honor system).

Maintenance crew are always out trimming edges, etc. and very helpful if you have any problems (I couldn't get my cable hooked up properly - user error). Camping World is right next door which is convenient if you forgot or need anything while you're staying there. It is a bit pricey for "camping" but it is very nice and was a great experience with my camping group.

(I tried to add one of the videos of an alligator jumping into the water as we rode by, but couldn't figure out how to do it)! Our camp cabin was FABULOUS!! Very comfortable beds, sparkling clean throughout, nice kitchenette and living room, plus a wonderful screened-in porch. Everyone at Idlewild is SO nice and helpful!! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they are all on-site. You can tell that they care about the property and the guests. We love the heated pool, the hot tub, the pool table, ping pong table, exercise room, bingo and the number of activities going on during the winter months. Who doesn't appreciate cement pads and full 50/30/20 hookups! We like it so much, we signed up for a much longer stay.

The folks residing here are friendly & tend to watch out for one another, which is reassuring. Located on Lake Rousseau, where the fishing is plentiful. They have a small bathhouse (1 shower) & a nice laundry (3 washers @ $1.75/3 dryers at $1 per load). There's no cable & OTA is unreliable, but the wifi is excellent. TV channels are not consistent, but I really haven't missed watching it very much. Although I do watch a few channels occasionally, it's given me a great opportunity to catch up on some reading. Speaking of reading, there is a book exchange area in the laundry. These folks also own Big Bass Village RV down the road, so you can't always catch someone in the office, but the manager (Suzie) got back with me very quickly when I emailed her from the address on the website. I think the owners are really working hard to make this a beautiful place. It has great potential, it's VERY reasonably priced (lower than anyone else in the area), & are quick to answer questions or suggest sights/views/restaurants. I'm really glad that this was the RV park we chose for our stay in this pretty part of Florida.

We were looking for a campground for some primitive tent camping near Rainbow River and this place…read moreworked out perfect. Chad (campground host) was super helpful in getting us situated, and the $20/day rate was fair. Unfortunately the sites do not have electric hookups, but generators can be used until 10pm. They do have water hookups at each site. The grounds have a couple community pavilions, and about 22 total sites. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Fire wood can easily be found by looking around. Most sites offer plenty of shade. The place is commonly utilized by equestrian groups, although there were none during our stay. We were 1 of only 3 occupied sites during our visit. They do have a large bathhouse on site that was very clean. There is a trailhead leaving the park but we did not have an opportunity to do any hiking during our 1 night stay. There are several stores and restaurants nearby if you need to stop for supplies. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again, and would recommend Shangri-La to any others looking for tent or rv sites in this area.
