We received another confirmation email prior to our arrival that made it clear early check-in before 3 could not be accommodated so we were careful to arrive between the check-in hours of 3-9 PM. Check-in was easy and the room was very well appointed with everything we needed. We've stayed in everything from 5-star hotels in Europe and Indonesia to very cheap motels in small towns. This hotel competes with some of the better places we have stayed. The hotel is has been renovated by the owners and matches the cute quaint vibe of the city itself, Crystal River. It is also within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the water / boat ramps which we loved. The room came with a bottle of wine and some sweet treats which we really appreciated. Especially once we learned that getting a spot for dinner on Valentines Day in the small town was pretty much impossible. Because of this we opted to get carry out, open our wine, and enjoy the dessert left in the room. As others mentioned the room was spotless, we found the decor to be current and fresh, the bathroom was stunning, and the AC and refrigerator were perfect. We will return at the next possible time and highly, highly recommend.

The cottage itself had everything you'd need and was super clean. Cute little kitchen area, fully stocked with plates and utensils. Bathroom with plenty of towels, toiletries and places to hang your bags. There's also a living room area with tv and queen sized bed. The cottage is so cozy and decorated with the coolest art and books. The best part are the hosts/owners. Ian and Darrin were so warm and welcoming. You can tell they love what they do. The property is adjacent to the water, so you can fish or sit outside and enjoy the view. The motel is located just a few blocks from downtown and there are restaurants, gift and coffee shops. There are trails and water near by and Dave took his electric bike all over today. What a great place to visit and relax for a few days! They even let us park Pandy right across from our room! We seemed to have several issues with Suite 3 but…read moremaybe it was just a bad week and for the price we were expecting a turnkey relaxing vacation. A few small things to consider- do not expect world class paddle boards, there is one SUP paddle that functions and two old paddle boards- kayaks seemed ok. The walk to the beach does require crossing a busy road, but once there it IS a nice beach, but you must bring all your own gear, including beach towels. There are not any beach rental chairs, etc. nearby. The wifi did not seem to work for us, the fan in the spare bedroom had a short apparently so my first night trying to sleep, it got up to 78 degrees in the room as we could not adjust the temp on the thermostat, the couch is not comfortable, the streaming buffered, so it took a couple hours to get that to work, there is a neighboring house with a large dog barking and although they warn you, I find it strange for the nightly price ($336/night!) to offer a small soap and shampoo. There is a washer, no dryer. The blankets were thin, beds were decent and the place was clean. There are no screens on any of the windows so you can't really get fresh air and there was a wasp nest above our bathroom window so definitely didn't want to leave a window ajar while showering. There is a "no refund" policy, so you are stuck there as we had wanted to check out after our first of two nights. There are not any walkable restaurants nearby. We were offered a couple of free nights to make up for all the mishaps we had. All in all, there were nice chairs and solitude by their water's edge. I could see a family enjoying the grounds and playing the outdoor games they had, but for us it was a letdown for the price. I think some people would be perfectly happy here but we had a lot of stress upon check-in and so many things not working properly.
