I tried both salsas the red was good, but I liked the green more. I wasn't really feeling the barbacoa taco, but the steak fajita, chicken fajita, and bean and cheese burrito were all really good. The beans were on point. Service wasn't super quick, but the staff was friendly. I'd definitely come back to try more. I saw they make tamales, including strawberry and pineapple ones, and it's hard to find good tamales, especially dessert ones

I wanted to love this place so much, but unfortunately, overall, pretty much everything about my…read moreexperience today was underwhelming. First of all the customer service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. The cashier lowkey seemed annoyed as soon as I walked in. She wasn't like rude but she wasn't particularly nice either. Also, the pricing is kinda sketchy. They have a sign saying that the pricing they have up isn't accurate and is subject to change with inflation, which, I understand, but still. Even though it was kind of a red flag, I was already committed to the adventure! Plus, as much as I love food, I have no problem paying a premium for anything as long as the food is fantastic/the overall experience is worth it. I wanted to try a few things so I got the taco plate which comes with three tacos, and rice and beans and then I ordered two additional tacos a la carte so I could try other protein options. So the taco plate + 2 additional tacos (5 tacos total) up being $22.72. Which - seemed kinda wild, but whatever, obviously at this point, my expectations are through the roof! I got the Fajita Beef, Fajita Chicken, Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Barbacoa tacos. Unfortunately, none of them blew me away. The rice and beans were standard. The salsas were solid, as well, and extremely spicy! The fajita beef was the most flavorful of all the protein options, but everything else was just okay. Edible, yes. Fantastic? Absolutely not. I actually had to add more seasoning to each protein when I got home. Also, I noticed that, (with the exception of the fajita beef), the meat on the tacos was somehow pretty dry while the taco was greasy at the same time. Not sure how that's even possible. The Al pastor was the most disappointing. Not only was the flavor lacking, but it didn't come with pineapple, which is typically my favorite part. Also, nothing on the receipt was itemized, so I don't even know how much the taco plate was or if I was even charged correctly. For the price, I was expecting this to be an above average experience, but unfortunately, it was not. Definitely a bummer because I've been looking for a really good, tucked away, taco gem in the area, but baby this is NOT the one!

They did not have any limes!! What kind of market does not have limes?!?! The taqueria area was closed when I went, but I got some of the meat anyways from the glass case. The meat after cooked was pretty good. I also enjoyed the fact that you could buy the white Mexican cheese by the pound. I never use it all when I buy it at other places in their pre-determined amounts. The cashier was really nice and although I paid in cash, there is not a minimum for credit card purchases.

Stopped here for lunch, but I was mostly interested in seeing what their meat market looked like. The butcher selection only had about 8 choices. If you've never been to a local mercado, stop in the next time you pass a La Michoacana or Fiesta Mart for comparison and you'll see what I mean. I was the only "white guy" there (i'm half asian). Ordered a meal to go - Puerco en salsa verde. Got home and opened the bag to see mariscos con nopalitos. Receipt showed Amigazo (my love? maybe it's code for gringo to screw over). $12 for 10 tiny shrimp. Charged me extra for items i didn't receive. Called them and they told me the platters are the same price. No offer to make things right. No problemo, "amigo". Gastar mi dinero en otro lugar.
