I could cry! This place will never again get my business- they have listed on their website 11/22 for Thanksgiving orders and they stopped taking them on 11/19 according to the employee I talked to today. Ruined my plans and my dinner. DONT MESS WITH THE HOLIDAYS PEOPLE

    Inspiration amid COVID-19

Well, what can I say about a place whose clientele have already provided echoed laudatory remarks?!? I suppose one may consider my review to be an update, amid the COVID-19 "scamdemic." Don't hate. Anyhoo, I've visited Hirsch's a couple of times in the same number of months past. It did not disappoint! In fact, it is an incredible meat market, with a great flair for making the customer "King!" Upon entering Hirsch's, one must take a number to put oneself in the queue to be waited on. And, don't be discouraged if prior to taking your number you see they're serving number 45 and your number is 65. Trust me, you'll be amazed at how quickly that 20 customer void between you and "meat" will dwindle quickly! And on that note, I suggest you get busy browsing for what you plan to purchase, as the staff are about getting people waited on efficiently and courteously, but quickly! I liken a visit to Hirsch's to a day trip to Disney; there's so much to take in and so much to tempt one's appetite that it's easy to miss something and it's even easier to leave with much more than that for which one stopped in. I have to remind myself to stay on task as I take in all of the eye candy! My personal favorite at Hirsch's are the Prime cuts of steak, which should be tried at least once, even if you're on a budget. You will not regret eating the best steak you have ever eaten, if you do!! I also very much enjoy the various flavors of sausage, the jumbo pickles, and the dried beef!! I've yet to try the poultry, pork chops and seafood, although I have purchased the frozen sea bass, but haven't prepared it. I love Hirsch's and can unhesitatingly say, if you've never tried freshly butchered meat, you're missing out on a real treat! If you've been inside a German Metzgerei, Hirsch's will remind you of that old world experience! And, I am 110% certain, if you give Hirsch's a try, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!! Just remember, stay on task and don't forget to try the jumbo pickles!! Eat well. Be well. Cheers!

One of the best (of 2) meat markets in the North Dallas area. Excellent selection and willing to get you the cuts you want.

Thurmans meat is horrible... bring in Boars Head. Not sure why they would use thurmans and say quality.... Just to make margins.

I think this business of bugs is buggy! Multiple BBQ sauces are available for purchase. The owner also told me he does mail orders too. I bought a few items of his brand jerky to bring to work. I think the bugs would go over great at Halloween. Something to keep in mind for when October rolls around. I also bought a few bug suckers as a gag for my friends at work. Personally, I'm not into eating bugs, but the younger generation always seems to enjoy a good dare! Sorta like that show "Fear Factor". The bugs are stocked full of protein and just might be the next energy bar you'll find yourself eating. This definitely is an eclectic store! 2017/26

Their jerky is actually 'functional', in that it is something one might actually purchase for themselves. All of the jerkys can be found online, but it is convenient to have them all located in one store. Lotsa different game meat jerkies, such as Alligator, Kangaroo or Ostrich meat, then there are house made jerkies & many different brand jerkies. ___________________ My 5 star rating is based almost entirely on their bug snack selection. That alone earns my admiration. I am sure that sticking an entire Rhino Beetle into my mouth is a lovely experience. I was so happy to find an Israeli restaurant here, I'm surprised there aren't more. Back in Louisiana I used to frequent my favorite Israeli restaurant and I'm just glad I've found one here as well. First off pulling up it wasn't what I was imagining if to look like. I was expecting fancy, but this place is very cozy and gives small town vibes. Which I like. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She gave great recommendations and just was a delight. The owner was really nice as well, she popped out around rush hour to great all the tables. We ordered way too much food for lunch but wanted to try a bit of everything and they made for great leftovers. We ordered the falafel hummus, short ribs, rib and marrow, shawarma, and Israeli mixed skewers. Every dish had great portions to price. Presentation was great and most importantly taste was great! At least to me it was. The short ribs were amazing, loved the skewers combo and the shawarma. The falafels were cooked perfectly. I will say the rib and marrow was my least favorite dish. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. The meat was cooked perfectly I just wasn't a fan of the flavor. It was sweet and reminded me of bbq sauce and I just don't like bbq sauce. But everything else was delicious. Definitely try this place out.

After reading high-rated reviews and seeing their food photos, I was set to try them out! They sell delicious Hawaiian dishes such as chicken katsu, BBQ short ribs, BBQ chicken, kalua pork, crispy shrimp, spam musubi, and more! I've never had real Hawaiian food before, so I can't judge whether the flavors are authentic or not, but I can say that the food is DELICIOUS. The galbi's seasoning does taste like some of the Korean BBQ restaurants in town though. My favorite order is their A3 Hawaiian BBQ Mix combo, which comes with BBQ chicken, short ribs, BBQ beef, two scoops of rice, macaroni salad & steamed cabbage. The portions are enormous and I love every meat that I got. I'm usually not a huge fan of teriyaki chicken, but they season it so well and the chicken stays juicy even after a couple of days. The galbi is soft and their BBQ beef is delicious as well. I just love how much food I get each time because it fills me up for 3 meals (I just need to cook extra rice). I recently tried their crab rangoons and fries as well. I don't like crab rangoons, but I think I'll be coming back here frequently just to grab some. The crab rangoons are SUPER CRISPY, and they give this Hawaiian sauce (not your typical red Chinese dipping sauce) with the appetizer and I literally can't stop thinking about it. It's the perfect combination. I regret not buying more and stocking up before the winter storm here in Dallas! The owner is super nice as well. There's never anyone in the restaurant when I visit which is sad because they deserve more love for how delicious their food is. Hawaiian Bros used to be my go-to back in 2019, but I recently went and it was disappointing. I'm so glad that Mahalo is close by and I can get my yummy Hawaiian food without paying an arm & leg.
