the outside of a butcher shop
    Lara C.

Great service and top quality meats. Love that they are a small local business who take pride in their store and specially curate the products in store. We've been coming here for a couple years now and I think you can really taste the difference in their products vs what you get at your grocery store. They have different types of sausages - really fun and tasty to try them all. I like buying my eggs here and they make their own sauces. Look for the Fresno chilli sauce - delicious!

    Love it!

This butcher shop is awesome, tucked in the Dallas neighborhood I grew up in. They are on the pricy side but worth it. They have everything that someone following the "animal based" diet would need-grass fed beef and organs and so many other great things! I wish we had this place in OK. I brought my husband by to check this place out on our way back to OK and grabbed a Philly cheesesteak for the road that was super delicious! The people that work there are knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to go back!

    Best ribeye steak in Dallas!

Best butcher in Dallas! Great local sourced meat. Steaks, chicken, and the best blueberry pork sausage. Stop in and give them a try.

Kroger quality steaks sold for 46.99/lb.

Mixed on this. Big on supporting a local business. But post COVID and after the best of Dallas reviews, it's gotten really expensive. Example: a center cut choice filet is 45.99/lb now. Central market charges 42.99 for Prime. Explanation of an up charge for center cut being a chateaubriand doesn't pass muster. A center cut filet is not a "petite roast". Just don't like being talked down to to justify high prices when I'm an educated consumer. Perhaps the aged selections are worth it, cases look nice for that. For now though, I can butcher my own tenderloin for less, and get better value at Central Market for the service of having them cut it. It's a shame because I've liked this place, but even as a high earner I have to rethink everything now that it's Biden's economy.

This is a very nice, small butcher shop in the middle of a large shopping plaza; its pretty hard to miss it. I went in looking for chicken bones and I ended up getting chicken feet which is even better than I ever imagined! I didn't think they would carry chicken feet for broth. It was $13 for 1 1/2 lbs of local, farm raised, organic, chicken feet (so much better than the ones from the grocery store!) From what I understood, two buddies own this shop. All the meats are local in different farms around the area. They sell beef, chicken, duck breast, pork, various kinds of sausages, charcuterie/dried meats, duck fat, soups, cheese, olive oil, spice rubs and sauces. I was also looking for lamb (if you call 24 hrs in advance they'll get you cuts of lamb they don't traditionally sell) so next time I'll call in advance to get ground lamb for homemade burgers and sausages. I'm also sure they sell sausage casings upon request. They told me the weekends are very busy so try going during the week. They get various cuts of meat daily. The awesome thing is too this place doesn't have any funky odors like most meat shops! It's so clean, well managed and the two guys who own the shop truly care about what they do. Overall this place will not disappoint you if you want good grass fed cuts of meats!

60 day dry aged bone in ribeye - once in a lifetime cut of beef

This place has got it going on. Got a ton of stuff from here for a nice Christmas charcuterie board - fantastic. Best charcuterie I've had thus far. Also got a 60 day dry aged bone in ribeye that was really a once in a lifetime cut of beef. Customer service was superb. Awesome butcher shop

When I learned about The Meat Shop, I thought it served as more of a butcher; however, I found it more of a sandwich shop that sells popular meats. (i.e., If you want to buy beef bones, look elsewhere. They got steak, though!) While there, I asked the cashier what two sandwiches we should try: ***** Brisket Hoagie ($11): Comes with pimento cheese, candied jalapenos, with locally sourced brisket. Crispy, meaty, cheesy -- you'll Oprah clap your hands together and say, "Yes. YES!" Try this. REUBEN ($11): This marbled rye, Russian dressing, swiss, pickled onions, brisket pastrami masterpiece danced better on my tongue than their Brisket Hoagie, honestly. Perhaps my favorite Reuben of all time. In terms of safety, they... - Do wear masks inside, but could do a better job keeping them on around each other. - Offer plenty of space in the back patio with picnic tables (plenty of distance between each one). We have a new addition in American Butchers at the Dallas Farmer's Market. These folks know their way around meat. I grew up in the heart of Amish and Mennonite country in Kansas. Butchers and smokers of meat down through the years, you could always get quality cuts of meat and sausages from cattle that never saw a feed lot and pigs from optimal conditions. Years ago when I moved to Dallas, I found Rudolph's Meat Market in Deep Ellum right away to get cuts of meat for special occasions as well as Kuby's and other purveyors for quality meats. American Butchers is a collective of Nebraska ranching and farming families that is marketing their Artisan meat here at the Farmer's Market and I can tell you their meat is beautiful. Half and quarter cows are brought here to Dallas and can be butchered to your specifications; but what they have in their cases is wonderful. All of the meat looks perfect. They had cooked some samples of flank that were soooo tender. We bought some Jalapeño Cheddar Summer Sausage for $9.99/pound that was lean but delicious. You could see the diced Jalapeño in it and chunks of cheddar cheese. We also brought home a lean black pepper salami that was equally as good. We'll be back to shop some more. I was very impressed both with the meat and their professional and knowledgeable service.
