I've been coming here a handful of times, this is the best meat market I've been to in the DFW area by far. The variety of meats (beef, pork, chicken etc) is outstanding. They have everything available in the counter so you can see yourself what's available. The people that works here are very customer friendly and they know their stuff. If you don't know how much meat to buy for the number of people you plan on cooking for, they are more than happy to help you. They also have extra services that go above and beyond I've seen anywhere else. For example they have different seasoning mixes they make themselves and will ask you if you want their seasoning or not. They have different seasoning mixes for beef vs pork for example. As far as I know they don't charge any extra for this service. I went there today to buy baby back ribs and they asked if they wanted me to remove the membrane for me. YES, please! How much easier can it get?! The quality of the meats I purchased (short ribs, Italian sausage, bratwurst) was very good, and I'm glad they're now in Flower Mound. The team behind the counter is helpful and knowledgeable. In addition to a variety of great fresh and frozen meats, they carry some cheese (including a good pimento cheese), sauces, and condiments. It's Covid-19 time, so one has to talk about that. Although they are wearing masks and requiring customers to wear them, they haven't gone a step further to put some markers on the floor to remind customers about keeping distance while being served. I had people literally almost behind me as I was waiting for my order to be rung up. I ended up backing away from them, and trying to get a few feet of distance to avoid them (they were "wearing" masks with mouth covered only, noses exposed and exhaling particles everywhere). I should have made the trip when they were in Lewisville, but to get some Christmas presents this past weekend, went to their new location in Double Oak. I was in for a surprise in every regard: it was well lit and extremely clean. They had your normal stuff, as you'd expect. But they had a lot of different and high end stuff as well. The workers were extremely knowledgeable and kind. Haven't been to all that many real butcher shops, but of all the ones I've been to, this is hands and feet above any of the others. Wagyu tenderloin filets? Yes, please. I'll just take all of them even though my hubby and I split an 8 oz one. It was so rich, all of the marbling just melted like butter. I love the sandwich counter, fresh cheeses and spice selection. They even have frozen vegetables. My dog gives 2 paws up for the beef soup bones. They only lasted a couple of days under intense supervision. I tossed them when he gnawed down too much! I love the new location too, large parking lot! If you go on the weekend, expect a long wait. I'd highly recommend you treat this visit like one to the DMV or Pecan Lodge BBQ in Deep Ellum. You'd need to stand in line 30 minutes or more prior to door open to hit that meat counter fast. Oh, man, this place is LEGIT. My husband had gone for lunch while in the area one day and told me all about it, so of course I was intrigued. A few weeks later we just happened to be up in Lewisville so we stopped by and I immediately saw how serious this place is about meat. Yessss..... They have tons of options, from sausages to steaks to hams, etc. Spices, honey, jams, jellies, specialty butters....all of it looked amazing. But the real crowns are the steaks they have. Service has gone down recently. Asked for the membrane to be removed from 2 slabs of St. Louis ribs which previously they did happily at least 10 other times. Today a new employee said they don't recommend removing the membrane because it will fall apart. THAT'S THE POINT!!! The ground meat in the display case was bright red. I asked for 2 pounds and the meat placed on the scale was dark brown. When I asked.for fresh I was told it was fresh. I left empty handed and will use Wild Fork from now on. read more

The butchers here are all very friendly. They always offer suggestions. What I like most is that they'll ask you what you want, and I can NEVER decide. So I tell them my situation or occasion that I'm cooking for and BAM! I've got the perfect steaks for serving. I've bought their seasonings/rub for the house, but it doesn't taste as great as when they season it for you. Now, I didn't notice that there was bbq in the back until going there with my hungry brother. Man! That bbq Brisket sandwich is killer. Been 3 times for the Wagyu Ribeye and all 3 times the ribeyes carry to much silver skin for me. Quality is about a 5-10. Better sticking to buying online for Wagyu. I've had some of the best Wagyu in Counrty so maybe I'm just spoiled. You would have to try it for yourself.
