Food was not very good and extremely over priced. A two taco combo was almost $17 and to be so honest, I didn't enjoy anything about it.

When people imagine their perfect taco, it's hardly ever the same idea. It's not just the protein…read morethat makes the difference, it's the fundamental concept of what a good taco is. Is it a corn or a flour tortilla? Is there cilantro? Are there animal organs involved? Some might argue that anything that isn't done in the style of a Mexican street taco is even a taco. Others dive into the extremes of the world like breakfast tacos. College students might imagine a taco as something found at Taco Bell or Del Taco. Owned by Greg Bradshaw of nearby Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Tacorita established somewhat of a recent following in Auburn. Having been a much beloved institution for years, then closing down in 2022 and opening here, Tacorita is a spot that has a unique ability to satisfy taco cravings for college students without breaking the bank. These are American style tacos, served in a relatively synthetic tasting shell. The ingredients and combinations are excellent. Firecracker taco has a sesame heavy profile and very tasty. The carne asada is pretty good as well. There are a couple beers on draft. And maybe the coolest thing, the juices for margaritas are freshly squeezed, which is arguably the most signature move of Tacorita. The result is a popular spot with a an open space floor plan and consistently busy. The staff are wonderful and as a whole, this is a great spot for Americanized version of a taco.

I've had a lot of things thrown into tortillas…read more In fact, I've been on somewhat of a journey to find the best fajitas; that journey has now come to an end with my takeout order of skirt steak fajitas from Bow & Arrow in Auburn, AL. Ah-Maz-Ing! The homemade tortillas were fluffy but not too fluffy, the steak was so tender, I mean, even if you have dentures, this is safe ground to slap them jowls. I don't plan to need a "last meal," but if I did, this would be it. The rice, beans, and that butter are all 10/10.

The hostess quoted us a 40-45min wait, but we were pleasantly surprised it was only about half that. The space was insanely warm-- got it, it's winter and it's cold/rainy, but we were sweating and our baby's cheeks were turning pink. Our waiter made the experience less than ideal. He definitely didn't want to be there and his performance showed that. He was no help when we asked about menu items-- we got nothing more than a shrug and a mumbled 'I don't know'. He was slow to do anything and our beer was barely cold when it made it to the table after letting it sit at the bar for too long. We waited for 40min for our dinner. Even a Friday night in a busy college town shouldn't equal that. Food was good when we finally got it. Not worth the long wait, but decent. Disappointing visit...but, I'll probably go back when it's hopefully less busy and attempt a better experience.
