This place is great. Fantastic food, huge portion sizes, great service, and a cool layout. I will 100% be coming back regularly.

Im addicted to there street tacos and I've never had any problems with staff or my food. Best severs ever

We had cheese dip, guacamole, a steak and onion burrito served with rice and beans and an el pastor burrito. Everything was delicious! It was a busy Saturday evening so our waiter barely checked on us or refilled our drinks, but we will be back when we're in town. read more

While visiting Auburn, Alabama, we tried this restaurant for the first time. We were seated immediately for dinner, and the service was excellent! They are a busy restaurant, but they have many servers, which I appreciate. We began with their chips and salsa and then moved on to their guacamole dip, which comes with fresh avocados, tomatoes, and jalapeños. The guacamole was delicious. We also ordered their Patron margarita and another drink, the name of which I can't recall but it contains rum, tequila, and some other liquor. Both drinks were delicious. We chose their Texas Fajitas for dinner, and liked that they have this dinner for two option. You can never go wrong with fajitas for the most part, and their fajitas came with tender sliced beef, chicken, and shrimp with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. They come with a choice of flour or corn tortillas. The quantity was very generous, as shown by the photos below. The food is very flavorful and tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the excellent service at this restaurant. I'm looking forward to returning to try more items on the menu. Take a look at the photos of the drinks and food. read more

Not a bad place to visit for lunch, but I'm used to Tex-Mex, which has different interpretations across the country. Service was meh because of being understaffed due to a lack of workers, so a little patience is needed even during a weekday lunch. With the rise of CV-19 in Alabama, you may want to take your own precautions as I believe most of the staff was not wearing masks. But it was 2-3 weeks ago when I visited, things might have changed. Chips and salsa were good, I could bathe in the salsa. Didn't receive the queso we had ordered, but luckily we weren't charged for it. Margaritas weren't bad, not the best either. Skinny margarita was VERY sweet - tasted mostly of the mix and no tequila. No kick to the strawberry margarita. Had the mixed fajitas with shrimp for lunch. Had good flavor, but the additional cheese that was coated on top of the meat made it into a soup. And the additional guac, for a 1 oz portion, was not a good deal for the price. Next time I would avoid both. read more

This is my second time at this restaurant. I absolutely love the food . The waiter was so friendly . The flaming fajitas was so good I couldn't finish it all so I took it with me ended up making nacho fajitas for later . I will definitely be returning to try other dishes. Clean restaurant as well as clean bathrooms. read more

This place is normally crowded but there was was not a large crowd due to the students are out of school. The drinks are made to order, I had a strawberry margarita frozen. Delicious! I love sweet drinks with a kick. I only had one drink but it was well worth it. read more

This review is only about the drinks! Saw the sign outside saying "Happy Hour Daily 4-7pm" so we had to try it out. They had 22oz margaritas buy one, get one half off which is a steal. We also tried the piña colada and coronaRita, all delicious. They're not the strongest drinks, but they're huge so I'm not sure you'd want them to be extremely strong. The only food we had was the free chips and salsa. The salsa was kind of watery and didn't have much flavor. read more

Agave Loco - Happy Hour everyday 4-7pm. Buy 1 margarita on the rocks, get the 2nd half off! - Mexican Near Me - Auburn, Alabama

Worst Mexican I've ever had. With 20+ Mexican choices in Auburn, there's plenty of other options. I ordered a simple burrito & taco. Burrito tasted like horse meat and cheese with red sauce on top. The taco came with a store bought hard shell and stale, ground beef and nothing else. Wife had the chicken fajita salad, chicken was chewy and greasy, long skinny pieces that were nearly 1 foot long and not cut up. The chips were hard and stale taste like cardboard and salsa a pure tomato paste. It took 20 min to get the waiters attention and then he says "we have a no exchange policy" and "manager says we cannot take off bill". What a joke of a place! I don't $30 for the worst food and experience in Auburn read more

If you are looking for a bowl of grease that closely resembles Mexican food if you squint just right. Then to wash it down a glass of tequila with a dash of pineapple pulp they call a margarita. WALK ON DOWN TO AGAVE, The waiting staff is incredibly friendly but might not be able to get themselves out of a room of doors. Would recommend any other place in auburn. read more

Great Mexican food and good value for their entrees, esp lunch specials. Love their chile relleno, tacos, enchiladas, guacamole salad, rice, beans, chips, and salsas (we ask for picante as well). Wait staff service is good as well. We love Agave Loco! read more

Service is always great, prompt, respectful and the food has always been great! We will return to Agave Loco!

Fast to seat, typical texmex environment; loud. Salsa was mild. Our salsa included a weird chopping of onion. The food was below mediocre. I got the carne asada. The meat was tough and chewy, my plate came with a whole grilled onion and whole grilled jalapeños: both impossible to eat, wish it was just cut up like normal I guess. The lady ordered street tacos on corn tortillas. The corn tortillas had a musty smell to them and the steak was dry. Don't recommend this place despite the nice staff and quick seating read more

Agave Loco on Opelika Rd is our favorite Latino restaurant in Auburn and Opelika! The menu is extensive. The food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. And the service is terrific! I usually begin with a shot of Jose Cuervo. The draft beer selection is always good. And perhaps best of all for me is speaking my cowboy Spanish with Mario--our waiter and friend! And one more thing--the owners are really nice, husband and wife. Mucho gusto, J.W.Warren read more

Would be 5 stars if they had a drink inside of a pineapple. Queso fundito was fun. Salt was blue which is a plus. But still I would have loved a drink inside of a pineapple (like another Mexican restaurant down the road) read more

The camarones a la crema was so good. I added onion and bell pepper, which was a good choice. Our server was very responsive and memorized our whole order without writing it down. The only downside was, it was very hot in the restaurant. Other than that, it did not disappoint! read more

Ate lunch with my boss today, got to work to open up my good from when we took our orders to go and found a bug cooked in my food. I ordered the Tex-Me. I will never eat there again. The manager argued that I left and could've opened my plate to allow a bug in however that was not true. My good had been but into a container and put into a bag at the restaurant. read more

Word to the wise: If you're making an online order to go, and you want multiples of one item, add them individually, as they never check the "quantity" portion of the line item of your order. Many times I've ordered taco x 3 and gotten 1 taco. read more

Really gross. Nothing you get is what is described on the menu. The chips are also hard and taste like nothing. I ordered burritos and there was no mention of cheese on the menu in the description. When I got my burritos they were fully covered in cheese and cheese sauce. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I couldn't eat much of it. read more

They got my order wrong once, I tried to explain to the lady that now, I wanted to switch my order and she acted like she didn't understand. She sounded like she spoke native english; other than this, it has been pretty good. read more

HORRIBLE. SERVICE. We saw our waitress a total of 3 times. Waited an hour for cheese dip to come after our meal had already come out, asked for the check 4 times, and finally just went to the front to pay without a check. Then our waitress decided to make a reappearance. She was not apologetic at all despite us not having seen her in the past HOUR. Don't the mistake of wasting your whole evening in this restaurant due to the slow and inattentive service. read more

This is the first time eating here. Was with my family for a late Thanksgiving get together. I had the Tiger Burrito. Was so good. Had a chuckle at one of the names of a dish on my the menu (Pollo Chihuahua). Don't think I'll ever try that one. Lol. Waitress was nice and did a great job. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. read more

Just tried Agave Loco for the first time tonight. This place had a great initial vibe, reminded me of a Mexican restaurant from home in San Antonio. Good smells, fun lighting, great atmosphere, clean and well kept. There was a solid crowd, the parking lot was packed which made parking difficult. Salsa and the hot chips were very good, the White Queso was spot on as well. My Green Chicken Enchiladas were exquisite. Although they were cold initially but the kind waitress made sure to fix that promptly. Overall great place, good prices. read more

We just moved here recently and on cinco de mayo/taco Tuesday we decided to pick a place and man we were not disappointed. By far the best burrito I've had in a while. My husband got the tiger and he said it was soooo good he wanted more. Oh and the queso was amazing as well. We weren't disappointed in any way with this place and it's one of our favorites now :) read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Auburn! Love the arroz con pollo and mango margaritas! Delish!

The food was was not hot being that we placed our order and we had our food 10 minutes later. The queso cheese dip was very thin without flavor and cold. The salsa had no taste either, the chips were hard and the rice was without flavor. Management was not understanding when called to our table, all we got were excuses and no apologies for our mediocre food and service.. I would not eat here do save your money. read more

This has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Auburn! The food is great, but may be a little spicy for those of you who are not used to it. I prefer my food spicier so I was pretty happy!
