I have always loved coming to Acapulcos with my friends, but tonight I was appalled by the service. It was pretty obvious we were not getting good service because we are college girls who are easily taken advantage of and our waiter knows there's an included gratuity on large parties. The servers name is Leo, and he was slow, forgetful, and unkind. We were simply planning to get some dinner in around an hour, but the meal took almost three hours in total. There was a table of around 6 guys who were in and out in under an hour, but we still hadn't gotten our checks. I will not be coming back to Acapulcos with a big party anymore. read more

In the Auburn area for a soccer tournament, this venue was recommended by an Auburn student. This dining experience lasted 2 hours. (Which is long for a Mexican restaurant) This place was very busy with several large parties. We waited to be seated approximately 20 mins. Once seated drink order and food order was made in an appropriate amount of time. After that things went downhill. It took almost an hour to get our food (Mexican restaurants are generally very fast with food coming out) The kids food came out first and appeared to be ok. The first plate for an adult was cold and unable to eat. Side dishes, rice n beans, came to the table follow by the entree approximately 20 mins later (we order street tacos). Once all the food arrived, finally, the waiter disappeared. Never pre bust the table, didn't check to see if food was okay, nothing. We reached out to the manager to express our disappointment. Finally the waiter comes back and we ask for to go boxes along with the check. He brings back boxes and no check. We waited another 20 mins or so until we find the manager again. Manager gets the bill for us, discounted, and we were able to pay. Never saw the waiter again. The manager was very understanding and nice. I can only assume the waiter was either inexperienced or overwhelmed and couldn't keep up. The food quality, with the one exception, was solid. read more

They do not take reservations and you never know how busy they will be. Convenient location. The service is pretty slow and unorganized. Our waitress charged us for extra margaritas that we did not order/drink and seemed very annoyed with my table when we asked for the charges to be taken off. The chips were hot and fresh. I had the steak street tacos. The tortillas were dry and the rice was very bland. The margaritas are good and reasonably priced ($29 for a pitcher). Overall, not impressed. read more

To preface, I love Acapulco's and I still believe the food is great. But, my last visit I had the worst service I have had at a restaurant. My server didn't take our order for a long time, and once we were done with our food she forgot about us for an hour and a half. She even had our debit cards for 30 minutes, she just forgot to give them back. And unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't busy so there wasn't really an excuse. I've given this place about a dozen chances, mainly because of the convenient location, but they almost always manage to disappoint in some manner. Whether it's the server forgetting about you and having to flag someone down for your check, or inconsistent food, or screwed up to-go orders, it's always something. On my most recent visit - likely my last - my order of fajitas was provided with no tortillas (seriously...aren't tortillas a given with fajitas?) and my guacamole salad was a mess of wilted lettuce thrown without care into the box with a dollop of guacamole. Went here for lunch today because I was told that Laredo's had been sliding. We were disappointed overall since the service was not rapid (except when the chips and salsa appeared) nor attentive. The food was also not much to crow over. My quesadilla and burrito (I had SP25 La Hacienda) were quite salty while the rice and beans were bland city. How wack. I'm feeling generous with the stars because the restroom is cute (Mexican tiles! Sunflowers, moons, suns!) and because the sweet tea was not disgustingly oversugared. read more

The restaurant is average at its best but that's not saying much since there are so many Mexican restaurants in Auburn. This place receives 2 stars because the food was edible and the service were average. I asked for warm water and the waiter didn't understand my request--he even got another waiter to try and interpret it for me to the extent at one point in this misunderstanding, they even asked 'can you explain to us how you make warm water?'. I ordered the chimichanga and out of all the chimichangas I've ever had, it was basically a bunch of ground beef stuffed into a tortilla wrap. The soft taco looked home made. Almost too home made. There was only cheese, chicken, and some lettuce and placed. I could've done it myself. The only thing that didn't make this place was the options you had in the a-la-carte portion of the menu. Food is good consistently, the service is usually exactly what you expect and want. There is one waitress who is so great with our two year old daughter. Went here for the first time last week. Beautiful atmosphere. Great music and service. This is the only place I've ever been that has mole that I like. They also have amazing queso dip. My only complaint about my visit was that my waiter was visibly and audibly upset with me when I requested that my order be corrected. I ordered a dish with beef, but I was brought chicken. My friend and I both recalled my ordering beef, but the waiter replied, "You said chicken... No, I'm sure you said chicken..." He seemed very upset by it. I sat down expecting a hot meal and something good to eat. When I sat down it took the waiter at least 15 minutes to get us drinks. He then walked away and didn't take my order until 30 minutes after we had been sat. I ordered something simple, cheese nachos. I was served cold cheese on soggy chips with undercooked meat. Then I asked for pico de Gallo and had to wait 15 minutes because the waiter was "busy". I wouldn't write this review if I felt it wasn't necessary, but this is important. This was the worst service I've ever had in my life. Sat down at 7:20pm with a table for 4. Two 6 tops and a 12 top got seated after us, got their food, paid and left. It took over 2 hours and talking with a manager to get our food. The waiter never came back to apologize for the terrible service or anything. Never checked on us or anything. From a perspective of someone who has 3 years experience in the food service industry, this was the worst service I have ever seen. Food was terrible as well.
