My 3rd visit, the employee's here are the best, very very friendly and easy to talk about anything to do with weapons. If you are new or experienced, it makes no matter, they treat you well. Since I'm a retired LEO, they support our field of service and are truly great people to talk with. Very experienced in the pistol area and knowledgeable in the trade. If you can not find something he'll go the extra mile and try to find it for you.. or if you already own something and aren't too sure on things with your firearm he will educate you. A lot of people complain because, he wouldn't let you in if you where from California, that's his choice, you don't like it, keep it moving. Dave, has always been fair with prices, and will go the extra mile to make sure your happy. I've seen some guns I've bought for a few dollars less, but, I don't get the same service if I choose to go else where. Out of state review - Was driving around in the area looking to possibly relocate. Saw the gun store and couldn't help but to go in. Great place, great staff, ammo decently priced in today's time. I saw someone's review saying they were law enforcement and weren't let in. My experience was very different. I'm also in law enforcement I told them I was and they asked to see my credentials (for proof of course) and I was in the door. No questions asked. I got to look around and laugh and joke with the staff. I can honestly say I was treated much better here than in my home state as a law enforcement officer. I went in to look for a deer rifle for my son. As soon as I entered the store I saw two of the clerks at the counter give us a dirty look. Now, my son is going through a phase and has died hair. Whatever, I brushed it off. I asked to check out a .308 rifle and the guy (40's dark hair) asked me what I was going to do with it. I said hunt, and he pressed me to tell him what so I told him none of his business and asked to look at rifle from a different make in .308. Meanwhile another employee kept staring at my kid. The guy hands me a bolt action .22 and says "maybe you should start here". Yeah well my son has been shooting my hunting rifles since he was 10 years old and we don't need anyone to tell us what we can and can't handle. read more

An interesting gun store operated by passionate folks. I was recently building an AR-15 and needed a little help finding a good way to drive the mag catch pins. The manager at the store showed me a super simple way which made my build much simpler. Using an Allen key to hold the mag catch while driving in the pin. I have never had such a bad experience at a gun store. A homemade cardboard sign greeted us informing us that anyone from California cannot buy ammo there. Mr. Bill rudely demand us to show him our ID's. After telling him we were from California and asking to look around at some accessories this rude clown wouldn't even let us in. I am in law enforcement in California and needed to look at some holsters and magazines. Extremely unprofessional. Every other gun store in Carson City treated us professionaly. read more

So my review is mixed. Went in to check out a certain pistol. It had just been sold to a customer who had to wait for a background check. So the fellow let me handle the gun. I also wanted to break it down. Then we couldn't figure out how to put the slide back on. The owner/ sales rep? Stopped by to quickly try to help. And then he said he really shouldn't let customers handle the merchandise. He didn't know how to put it back together either. Really? I sure am not going to invest in a weapon if I don't know just certain basics. I must also say it was pretty busy, but that comment really set me back. We did get the slide back on and this customer won't find himself in a pickle when he is home to decipher the mechanism. I must say they do have a huge inventory and was told that pre orders are accepted. But........... again, I do think I should be able to handle the merchandise. read more

This is the newest shop in Carson City but, hands down, it is the best. I've purchased three firearms here, new and used, each transaction handled without fuss and at a fair price. Biggest inventory of firearms you'll find anyplace that doesn't have "Cabela's" or "Scheels" on the door. If they don't have it, they can and will get it. The store manager is a subject matter expert on "black rifles", particularly Russian stuff and derivatives, as well as building them from the ground up. If your tastes run to AR's, AK's, SKS or any of their clones, this is the place you want to visit. Good selection of ammunition and accessories, the shop also handles archery, western period clothing and has a great selection of knives and optics. read more

My boyfriend and I went in with another couple after lunch to try to find the perfect handgun for me. When the lady asked which gun I wanted to see she had no idea which gun belonged to the discription I READ OFF THE TAG. I had to tell her "left, no the other left." It was disappointing because I'm not knowledgeable yet and would have liked some education. That was not the worst part. She turned to the man we were with and told him rudely to "be quiet, you are too loud I can't hear" at a decibel that was much louder than the conversation he was having with another patron. She escalated it VERY quickly swearing at him and basically kicking him out for talking about firearms. I have worked in the service industry most of my adult life and never witnessed such a poor display of customer service. From lack of knowledge to rudeness it was astounding. I will not be patronizing that location. Which is disappointing because they had a decent selection. read more
