I'm baffled by the store owner and his partners behavior. I came to the parking lot of their store for a car event with my 6 week old, 1 year old, and 6 year old. They came out acting as if they wanted to see the cars and proceeded to antagonize my fiance (on YouTube live) pressing his body against him, calling him racial slurs, shouting and acting belligerently trying to be tough. Do not support them, they are NOT community based, they should NOT be the people to regulaTe firearms, plus- they're overpriced. read more

Meh! Not much Customer Relationship Magic (CRM) Didn't pass- not the issue. I was the only person re-qualifying with five round revolver. We were confused by initial phone instruction to buy six speed loaders? Really? I will never use a speed loader, ever, and nerve raking to have to try use them to re-qualify. Couldn't wait two minutes for a manual reload on a revolver? I was so confused when directions were different for me and I supposedly only could fire 25 rounds instead of 30. I was allowed to reshoot again with 25? But regardless of whether I legitimately failed, it was not explained well and I didn't get to keep my targets to see my actual score. It was a less than great experience. I had a part in not sticking up for myself, but Didn't feel the love. No one was rude, no one mean, just not good enough. Could have made alittle more effort to help with the lone revolver. Constructive criticism work on Customer Relationship Magic on the firing range. It is what will show you CAN stand above the rest and still be safe. Can't speak to value, this shop was only one holding class in our schedule. read more

If you're recertifying, you meet at the Outdoor range in Carson in afternoon, do practical exam and then go back to their store for classroom and exam. Very fun simulation games with scenarios of threats. They are a Glock dealer and they sell items on consignment, even reloading gear... Skip the big guys in Reno and go to Carson for your CCW class or just training. read more

I first talk to carson guns explained my situation after getting a new pyramid trigger installed on my Glock 17 gen4. Was told bring it in with all items just Incase they need to go back to stock. So I brought my gun to them cause I was told they have a Glock Smith to work on my gun and help me after I installed a pyramid trigger. Brought everything new and stock. After leaving it the for almost three days and following up on it I get a call from the Glock smith that told me all the internals where after market and was told " they don't want to work on it" and he couldn't help. They only work with Glock parts I guess? So if you modify your Glock to make it better in anyway THEY DONT WANT TO TOUCH IT. Guys was rude even when I got my gun back they said they wouldn't help. We recently took the State mandated handgun training to qualify for CCW. Having been a firearms instructor for nearly 20 years, it was nice to sit through what could be a redundant monotone presentation, because they exceeded my expectations and kept the material interesting and upbeat. . Well done. Mr Brooks and his staff did a very good job while avoiding the most typical pitfalls in training stayed on topic, and got the class to the range with just enough time to finish the curriculum . The classroom portion was excellent..John, kept us all engaged through all the law stuff..not a easy thing to do. We went out to the range to shoot that portion and I'm a safety nutcase..I don't think you can be too safe. They did a fantastic job there as well. Carson Guns is the only place that I would recommend to anyone looking to take a class for basic pistol orientation to getting a CCW or anything in-between. All of the staff is super knowledgeable. When I arrived to the they took care of all my questions. My fiancé and I took the basic handgun orientation and we were blown away with John and Cat as the instructors. The knowledge they have when teaching us on how to utilize handguns in a safety first manner, while keeping the class fun created a structured and easy going environment. The shop provided us with different handguns and ammo to try out. We were able to try the different calibers of various guns which helped built my fiancé's confidence, especially since this was her first time really shooting a gun. read more
