I saw weird and bizarre thrifts from a coffin made for a set of twin men to a literal taxidermied bear for like $15K, to standard antiques like coins and trains, and of course items like figurines, corningware Pyrex dishes, and various decor. Definitely check out the whole store before you make a purchase as I did see a few venders have the same (or very similar) items. Fun to pop in. Plus they have shopping carts which was great for plopping our toddler in as we looked around a little more confidently with her contained (the $5 beanie babies are a decent buy to keep a little one happy while you take your time shopping).

The shop has a good selection of what appear to be quality pieces including china, lamps, pictures and other odds and ends and unique items. What struck me is that it seems like the owner take some pride in the selection and is not just peddling and old junk like you find in some of the Reno shops. I walked through it all, most I assume to be a hefty collection of rented "booths" and maybe some consignment. I'll need to come back again, as each antique store visit is just one layer of the onion. The antique wares were well organized throughout, although with differences in display density. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the store, both from staff and all the curious folks like me taking it all in. The husband of a friend used to be an antique dealer and he often talked about collection cycles and people age out and their treasures move on. I thought of that as I perused and sometimes admired an impressive collection of "stuff" that were previously special to their previous owners, and would someday be again.

Walking in reminded me of the old Morley's Book Store and maybe Petersunn's Antiques in Genoa. As it turns out, the owner (Gary) knows these guys and has traded with them. I couldn't even begin to understand the purpose and background for much of this merchandise. At the same time, ask and Gary will offer you a clear explanation. Then there's the dense "layers of the onion" aspect this place. I was pleased to finally get out of here with a cute little utility knife, but left wanting to return soon and dig in some more.
