Seems like it's been ages since I wrote a review for an adult novelty shop. Wild At Heart was a place I had on my list for a long time. Good thing I was in the neighborhood (Ballard) to finally pay a vist. Another real draw to me bookmarking the place was the name reminds me of the David Lynch film which I adore. Selection here is good. The "naughty " attire is more geared for the ladies but plenty of other inventory that would be quite suitable for straight or gay couples. Going off of the video section that covers those orientations pretty well also. Lots of whips and toys available as well as fetish gimp and pup masks too. Nice selection of lotions and such too. Me and my partner came into this store expecting to be greeted and met with positive attitudes. Instead the workers did not speak a word or ask for help with our services until we went up to the counter. Upon asking our questions about services, the workers were very negative and had a rude attitude. We asked about handcuffs and were told "Yeah. They are all on the back wall." which was fine, until we asked about fuzzy ones, which had been sold out on the wall. The worker with the long curly hair told us we do have fuzzy hand cuffs, but they were really expensive, insinuating we did not have enough money to pay for the item we asked about. Furthermore, when asked about specific vibrators, the worker with the straight long hair and glasses only pointed us to the direction and walked away. This store is really a hidden gem tucked away on the outskirts of Seattle. It really doesn't look like much from the outside but, once you walk through the doors you'll discover a utopia of fun and sexy products and clothing. They something for everyone. First off, the location is great with available parking. It does not have a skeevy feel at all in comparison to other adult stores. The ladies that work here are all really nice and knowledgeable. They offer help when you come in and are available if you have questions but they don't hound you like some stores the second you walk in. They have a good selection of vibrators that you can "test" to make sure they are strong enough. Which really, it is fun just to come by and do the testing. Look for the veiny purple one if you do. It's funny and it wiggles. My boyfriend and I have been a few times and on his last trip Thursday night he bought me a beautiful leather and red satin collar. Living in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, I discovered Wild At Heart a number of years ago, and have been delighted to both shop - and browse - often at their wonderful store! I first heard of Wild At Heart via The Stranger. They were advertising what they called "Sunday School" which were classes on everything from BDSM, to seduction, to sexy yoga. I attended a few and while I fell in love with the classes I fell even more in love with the store and the two awesome lady owners. I met Lisa (a co-owner) and she is the nicest most happy lady I have known. When you first meet her it seems as if you've known her forever. I went in here with my boyfriend recently, based primarily on feedback from Yelp. The front and main part of the store is very similar to other 'mainstream' adult stores, with a stock of very mainstream toys, clothes and other items. As I am not a mainstream sort of person, I asked the person behind the counter where I could find more of the locally sourced items (I was specifically looking for a blindfold). She pointed the way and I found myself in kinkster heaven. I could EASILY drop multiple hundreds, if not thousands of dollars here. Which is, regrettably, the only reason this is not a 5 star review. I've visited a couple of other stores in the Pierce County area but recently got to venture north to visit this small gem in Ballard. I was greeted by a friendly gal in a Batman shirt who was wearing a Batman name tag so I guess I now know what the caped crusader does for a day job! They've got lots of 'old favorites' like the Hitachi Magic Wand as well as many items from smaller and local companies, which is awesome. Wild at Heart looks like a "hole-in-the-wall"-type store from the outside but inside is like any regular adult store - it's very clean, well lit, organized, and fairly spacious. They have a good selection of vibes, harnesses, lingerie, and other novelty items although not as much (of everything) as I would hope for a store of their size. When I was shopping for lingerie I was pleased to find that they had a variety of sizes (even awesome plus size options) and styles in their inventory and they're so well organized that finding things I liked was a breeze. The store itself I would give 4-stars to just because I think they lack inventory/stock - they often only have singular size options for a lot of their lingerie so if you like something but need a different size, they may not have it available/in stock. That being said, I think their customer service more than makes up for what they may lack. Karly was the one who helped me during my visit and she was incredibly helpful, friendly, and understanding. When I couldn't find something that fit me right she gave great suggestions and I felt completely comfortable and welcome in the store. Hands down, some of the best customer service I've experienced in a while at any store, "adult" or not!
